Voices/microphones are very unnatural sounding.
Portions of the movie cannot be seen because of how darkly they were shot.
Acting is just so-so.
I made it about halfway through.

-Awesome band sound track!!
-It's an image medium, most shots were so dark I didn't know what the hell I was looking at!
-Female detective's Eye lashes and makeup were over the top.

I watched this, and overall unlike others I don't hate that I watched this, however I hate the potential that was sometimes shown but never really shone through.
As other users mentioned about the characters there was zero development. There was no singular character that I felt was good, or bad, or anything in between. I felt nothing for them, when they died or got hurt I didn't care. They were all sp underdeveloped it was somewhat laughable, and the script the actors worked with was poor. As explained below.
Arthur, The big bad, he talked a lot. He acted cocky, and he seemed to always be a step ahead... the actor was fine, the delivery of his lines, were OK but he isn't the actor who should have tackled this role. It was unbelievable coming from him.. Just because this actor had a lot of lines, does not mean his character was developed to a point you were rooting for him to win.
That brings you to Seth and okay, I lied I hated him, he was obnoxious and pretentious and you can just tell the actor wasn't acting, he was just being himself, his delivery was just uncomfortable and don't even get me started on the laughable death scene.
When it came to Elliot I just felt nothing for the character, so much so I can't even remember why he was even a part of the "gang".
The two females in the group of ragtag killers were the less grating of the five troublesome robbers. Indigo being annoyingly rude to Halley the girl whose supposed to be her friend, and the girl who she pulled into committing this whole thing with, her only thing was calling her friend Kitty-Kat (Shudders) and ditching out on people when they need her. Overall the actress was good, she made me hate the character - not as much as Seth - which I think was what the actor was aiming for. Halley on the other hand, was nothing, where the others had no substance, she REALLY had no substance, something I'm chalking down to lack of dialogue because the actor had moments where she was great, and something was building, especially the shower scene the morning after then it'd drop to nothing.
The father and daughter were OK I didn't care for them, in fact I found the daughter annoying and over dramatic, but again maybe it was a directorial choice... But going by the rest of the film with is random cuts and stupid long static shots of parking garages I'm going to guess it was.
The worst of the lot to me had to be the male detective, where his female counterpart was competent and enjoyable for the most part (Meaning I didn't want to turn the TV off ) he was the opposite, he had no talent and really was not enjoyable to watch even in this film which already wasn't fun. And as if anyone is going to believe the female slept with him... Please even in Hollywood standards that won't be passable.
At the end of the day, it wasn't a Hollywood film, it was nowhere near, but it wasn't the worst thing I'd seen... Saying that I won't be watching again.

This movie is like a bad 'R' rated version of Home and Away / Neighbours. The cineography looks like it was set in the 90s, although it's not, and the acting is soap opera-ish. Poor story, and profanity levels extreme, especially within the first ten minutes. Would not recommend.

This was bad, shot like they thought it was Miami Vice at times, everyone was annoying from the start. Just do yourself a favor and watch the original Desperate Hours in black and white or even the remake with Mickey Rourke if you want to see what they were trying to achieve I suppose. The only other Australian movies I know are The Dish, Romper Stomper, Suburban Mayhem and the one about the couple in the rental car going the wrong way and running out of gas and getting lost in the middle of nowhere going to Ayers Rock, and the one about the riverside campers and the kidnapper/serial killer in the outback. Watch any one of those mentioned before and save your time, this was dumb and dumber.
