This not scary. It has an awful story line. And an awful ending. It also has bad acting. Do not see it. It is just awful. One of the worst horror movies ever.

An impressive amount of dogs in this movie, and there were some surprisingly well-orchestrated (and bloody, at least in the unrated version I saw) attack-scenes with them... Definitely for a Asylum movie at least, who tend to cop out and use CGI instead of real animals but there was very little CGI in this, so kudos to them for that. There is some CGI of some green glowing meteor rocks on the ground which the movie might'd been better off being that the humans in the movie doesn't react to them being there (last minute edition to give the special effects team some work I guess). The plot is extremely simple, dogs go bananas and start attacking humans in a small-town and there's a family in particular who's the main focus and it is them we follow to see if they will get out alive. For the more part this plot (and the many lovely dogs) is enough to satisfy my interest but in the last 30 minutes it kind of loses it steam quite a bit and becomes too focused on random townsmen trying to escape the dogs, and the ending was a bit cheap to say the least. Acting is so so, decent for a Asylum flick I guess even though the mother played by Kelly Rutherford was not particularly believable in the 'scary scenes'. But overall I think it deserves slightly more than the 2.9/10 it currently has, somewhere between 3.9/10 and 4.9/10 all things considered.

Night of the Wild is a very bad movie. No actual plot, just a chance to have dogs attack & eat humans in a massive mess of craptastic gore & blood. This would be a bad movie if SyFy made it; that it was not makes this one truly unwatchable

Night of the Wild. 8 out of 10. Asylum films get a bad rap. Quite correctly in many cases. But what is up with the hate for this film? I mean really what more could you want from a nature goes wild movie? It has decent practical effects, I've seen worse CGI effects, none of the acting is visibly risible, and the action doesn't let up. Giant green meteors land in a rural California village or perhaps the Hamptons with mountains it wasn't all that clear. This causes all the dogs to go crazy apparently through meteor sound if the one deaf dog is to be believed. This makes zero sense. The fact that the characters don't notice the giant green glowing things is a running bizarre zero sense thing throughout the movie as well. In fairness to the characters, I am pretty sure the meteors were not actually there when filming but were added in post-production with The Asylum's magical Commodore 64. I recently viewed the similar themed The Pack. The Pack is on the surface a much better film. It has better cinematography, scarier looking dogs, an actual plot and most importantly it stars ridiculously attractive Anna Lise Phillips. Night of the Wild has Housewives star, Jill Zarin. (Who in all fairness isn't all that bad in a limited role as a chew toy). But the Pack has fewer cast members than Night of the Wild has kills in the first ten minutes. Night of the Wild knows why we watch a nature gone wild movie. It isn't for story and pacing and a rumination on the struggles of rural America. Night of the Wild is a fun movie that knows it is fun and simply goes about its business. It isn't obnoxiously self-referential and it is completely lensed with a surprisingly good pace. Well worth the watch.

I'm a dog lover so I watched this movie. Halfway into watching this movie I began to wonder if there was going to be a story line or is a monster going to manifest. But nothing ever happened. A meteor crashes to Earth and little green lights hover around various farms and other areas affecting the animals, mainly dogs. The dogs become violent, attack and kill people. The acting was punishing. They must have used all their friends to fill the roles. The best acting in this movie was...........THE DOGS. You want more? There is none. That's the movie. Sorry but like I said, it's the worst movie I've ever watched. How did the makers get the money to make this? If it's that easy, I've got ideas for movies that would run circles around this movie.

I rented this last night, and thought it was actually pretty funny. The characters were pretty dumb, you can see that the actors are wearing those dog bite sleeves. They have dogs with blood everywhere trying to sound vicious with growling noises played throughout, but they look cute and like they're playing around. The story is like something out of an old 80's horror movie; a meteor lands in a small town, breaking into several parts. The pieces give off a green glow and loud screeching sound, making all the dogs in town attack and kill anyone human. One family tries to survive the carnage and make it out alive. If you love bad cheesy movies and dogs, you might enjoy NIGHT OF THE WILD!!!

The idea is very Stephen King like, it could work for a no brainer, but the execution, it goes beyond that horrible limit, and just like in Even Horizon, it comes back with all that badness it saw there. You will see people getting killed by small dogs, you will also see main actors escaping 3 big dogs even after they were put to the ground, you will see characters so connected to their dogs that they will embrace death instead of getting some distance, and you will see some of the better animal attacks on film. In all fairness, The breed or The pack showed little dog attacks, these one using some CGI from time to time, does provide a better view. The movie has a couple of good old school actors, the main one does her job lovely, and keeping in mind that it is a syfy channel production, I think it got the most of its idea. I think it's a fair 4 stars, considering all that I mentioned. Seems about right. Cheers!

1st of all let me say that anyone who did rate the movie higher than a 1 is a complete idiot. In my opinion if it were possible to rate a movie plot lower than a 1 this 1 would have received a decimal point followed by Googolplex zeros. It should be a crime punishable by death to write scripts as bad as the movie Screen Writers for SyFy any/all Screen Writers that compose such garbage should forfeit their lives. Everything to define what cinemagraphic garbage this movie is has already been stated.
