NIGHT OF THE FLESH EATERS is a low-low-budget horror film. In spite of this, it still manages to be inventive, entertaining, and -sometimes- very funny. A gangster and his henchman head out into the deep woods to participate in the death of the gangster's cheating wife and his ex-partner, at the hand of a mysterious hitman. Unknown by anyone involved, the forest is alive with cannibalistic demons. Bloody deaths commence. If you're looking for something a bit different, even novel in a horror movie, then this might do the trick. This movie introduces us to several interesting creatures like dwarf cannibals, fire dogs, a stone man, etc. The dialogue, though somewhat wooden, is quite humorous overall, and the characters are likeable enough. Is there cheeeze? Yes. Schlock? Indeed. Still, this film makes 80 minutes sail by without putting us to sleep! It does it with some originality and heart...

Part of me wants to give this film 10/10, 'cos it's a hoot. The acting is awful. The dialogue is diabolically bad. But the film seems (I hope!) to know this, to revel in this, and to have its tongue firmly in its cheek. It's a throwback to so-bad-they're-good 80s horrors like Ghoulies and House, and I commend its vision in this respect (again, I'm hoping that it's intentional - if they thought they had a genuinely good film on their hands here, it'd be quite awkward). The titular flesh eaters are good fun, but best bit of the film by far is hearing the "hitman" continually pronouncing the name of the - ahem - dwarf cannibal tribe.

I don't know how anyone who would watch a movie with this title wouldn't like the finished product. This is a fun flick that can't be taken too seriously. Though it might take some time to realize it's only part horror and all comedy. If you're looking for high-cost effects and big-time production values, re-watch something from the major studios. This is low budget, has PG-13 level gore, 2 excellent actors in the leading roles who play well off each other and a lot of deadpan humor. My only complaint is that I didn't like it supposedly being tied into Native American myth. Now, get me stick!

Flat and poorly lit, though if the line "Find me a stick" being repeated over and over again is your thing, you might like it. A hit on a cheating wife and a business partner goes terribly wrong when a gangster turns out to be the prophesied "man of mixed blood" who will gain all the powers of a bunch of Native American flesh-eating demons and a half-snake/half-human evil medicine man. The ending is a let down and there's not one really memorable scene. Easily forgotten low-budget horror. Not really much more to say about this one. Sometimes, you don't really need ten lines of text to sum up a rather unremarkable flick.

This movie is a straight up horror movie and makes no apologies for it. There are definitely some very creepy aspects to this film and the storyline is pretty original for a horror movie. I also like the fact that there was some humor in the movie, there is also good dialog/interaction between the major characters (which is pretty rare in horror movies these days). The special effects are pretty realistic which was amazing given that this was probably done on a relatively small budget. There was also a twist at the ending which was a surprise to me. I won't give anything away but just see it for yourself, you'll be glad you did.

This is horror fun. I really had a blast in the over the top nature of the dialog and imagery. Rich and full of fun retorts and right on the edge of campy gore. I don't watch much horror, but a friend recommended this title to me and I found it quite enjoyable. I will be sharing it with other friends as a fun evening for a group watching party. I agree with other comments that the monster effects were actually quite good for the budget of this film. I have seen some of this writers other work on some other low budget features, and I think he has some very admirable qualities for his genre. Take a chance and check it out, you might find it a hoot as well.

The lighting is terrible is the movie; real dark. The first scene has the gangster walking out in the woods to meet with a "hit-man"; who has kidnapped the gangsters wife and business partner for the gangster. The gangster wants the hit-man to kill them for cheating on him. The hit-man turns out to be the guy who is actually cheating with the gangster wife. Meanwhile the gangster has already cut his business partners throat. This is 1/2 an hour into the movie and the acting is so bad i,m wishing someone would cut my throat for renting it. The hit-man turns out to be a high school science teach; which i can believe since he is definitely not an actor. So the fake hit-man knocks out the gangster and leaves him in the woods for a gang of "Pygmy cannibals" to feast on. Every forest has them you know. Sorry, but i couldn't take anymore and had to turn it off. Don't waste your time, or money, on this one. If you still want to watch it, please have the suicide hot-line number available, and lock up your knives!!

This is one of the worst movies I have seen in awhile. It's complete and utter trash; and when the film-makers saw how bad this pos is they tried calling it a "comedy" and "horror spoof". Make no mistake, this isn't a comedy or a spoof, they were serious when they were making this and failed hard. A mafioso gangster catches his wife and another guy cheating and has a special man off both of them. They're out in the woods where these mutant-zombie-dwarf things are, hoping they will devour the corpses. But, shocking to no one, it turns out that the hit-man was the real cheater and he and the woman try to get away from the mafioso. As the gangster hunts them down, he encounters many different demon things, each one dumber than the last. These encounters are drawn out and mostly filler scenes. He kills each of them and gets stronger. The other two are armed with plot armor (a talisman) that stops pretty much everything in the movie. A plot point pulled literally out of someone's backside; the cheater-hit-man says he suddenly remembers a story from an Indian tribe that says a demon warrior with mixed blood will come and battle against a medicine man/shaman. After more endless walking and the movie going nowhere, they two finally meet this shaman, through a girl possessed by him. This shaman has the ability to possess people by looking at them and makes them go get a big stick so he can roast and eat them. They try to save the girl, but are unable to break the shaman's spell. Instead they go and steal the girl's boyfriend's car (these are our leads, the characters were meant to feel for btw), as the demon warrior with mixed blood mafioso gangster fights and quickly kills the shaman. He approaches the car the two are in, and his wife gets out and just quickly kills him by shooting his crotch with a crossbow. she gets in the car, and presumably after gaining the shaman's powers, says "Get me a stick". This is a big stinking pile of ####. The characters are one dimensional, insipid, and down right terrible people. The two leads are cheaters, so right there I don't want to see them live. The acting ranges from flat to way over doing it (particularly the girl that gets eaten off screen). The story is a clusterf### that doesn't try to make sense. The effects aren't good by any means, the demons are all so stupid and lame looking. The last time I saw a movie this bad was Won Ton Baby, but that movie knew it was freaking terrible, and was tongue-in-cheek about it. And at least that movie made me chuckle once or twice. This is just terrible, there's no twisting it into something different. Every copy of this should be burned, but that would be a waste of fire.

I had the opportunity to watch Night of the Flesh Eaters and what a joy it was. I was expecting another bad low budget Indie film with bad acting and poor production value and I was so surprised at how wonderful the film actually was. I have to first comment on the writing. It's a heavy dialogue film but the content is so fascinating and so well written that the story line alone kept me interested. I thought the acting was great. The interaction between The Blond Woman and The Assassin, although a bit over top, but clearly the way the director had intended, was fun to watch. Even the monsters in the film looked like a lot of effort and time was put into their creation. What I was most happy to see as someone who watches a lot of horror films was how good it looked. The camera shots, visual effects, and lighting really upped the value of this low budget film. I wish producers spent more time and money on this because it makes watching a horror flick all the more better. Great job.
