Being Mexican and comparing what is happening in the country, it just makes you feel bad. Corruption, innocent people blamed, inequality, chaos, militarization, etc.
Obviously, the film, it is a dystopia of what can happen, but there are many things that are already happening in real life.
If you are Mexican (Or perhaps from any country in Latin America) you should see it and try to compare it with what is happening in your country. If you are not, very possibly you will not agree due to lack of context (if the movie has given more context so that everyone would have felt same as me, I would give it more rating).

I saw this movie over 6 months ago and not a day goes by where I don't think about the affect it has had on me. When I watched this movie I was so drawn in I didn't even want to leave to go to the bathroom or check my phone or do anything but watch the movie, not only did I not want to but I couldn't I was glued to the screen from the first minute to the last and after the movie I was speechless. I will admit at the time I told myself I would never watch that movie ever again because it was so disturbing. However in retrospect it was one. The greatest films I've ever seen and a beauty in creative filmmaking.

I truly am speechless about this one! It's soooo gore, unapologetic, quick, realistic, prophetic, unpredictable and just sad. I was just glued to the screen hoping for something positive to happen, and what seemed like a retaliation against the minority rich for neglecting and oppressing the majority poor, turned out to be completely something else. And you soon find out that everything was all orchestrated by the military who will go to great lengths to cover up a loophole just to continue they're evil scheme. It's devilish to the core. Brilliant storytelling, brilliant cinematography, brilliant casting and acting.

Just saw on MIFF. And really don't understand why it's received some praise. Very simple job - in city were wealthy people, than greedy revolutioners came and killed almost everybody, if don't receive redemptions from their relatives. That's all. No more ideas. Probably author wanted to tell that revolution is bad. Wow, "Great" idea. In Venice, they afraid of revolution so much that's why almost gave to this film Golden Lion? )) OK.
Poor made film. Don't waste 86 minutes of your life.

The beginning of this movie felt like a punch to the gut! And the juxtaposition in this movie! Riots in the streets, the working class and poor rising up! And opposite this? A wedding of two extremely attractive people at an obviously rich and powerful home. And when those two sides collide? Whamo!
The bride is caught in the middle of this insanity, and the 'new order' may not be what the rioters were hoping for. It's powerful, disturbing, and supremely timely. Rich versus poor, with the military in there as well.
And the imagery of that green paint stays with the viewer. A very powerful look at what may come to be.

It's disappointing because it had a lot of potential and the wedding scene was interesting. Here in Mexico, poverty, wealth inequality, and elitism are huge problems and it looked like the movie was going to address those topics. But from there, none of the plot made any sense or was ever explained. This is a really dumb movie.

Have watched 3 movies by this director. His movies start out okay but by the end it is a disturbing. Unresolved work that only adds to pre-existing anguish in Society. Someone out there can digest this type of work, but for some it might be lost hours. There is a genre for everyone out there!

Don't let yourself be fooled by the bad reviews. This is a movie for proline who understand the context. Movie's 86 minutes long, you'll be able to debate it for hours.
Enjoy.

Maybe some just get it wrong. This movie is not about poor people going crazy and killing rich ones because they are rich. This movie doesn't tell you something new... We all know how politicians work and what they want. Movie is very real and people who lived in a post soviet countries will see that in this movie.
It is just very sad that so many people still live in a fairy tale. I mean not in the movie :) real people...
