Aside from your families and friends, the next closest persons to you is your neighbour. They know your day to day activities. Some can be so nice while some can be a pain in the neck. Some neighbours wives can be great gossips but we can't just do without them as they are the ones who comes to us when we need urgent help in cases of emergencies.
