I feel awful giving bad reviews to anything or anyone in my life. There's always something good in everything. But this movie oh lord that's just torturing yourself and waist time of your life you could use so much better for a nap or something. How can I put it? It's like they wanted to make a little goofier stranger comedy than usual and I get that but when you go ,,outside the box,, then you have to be perfect if you want to be good and acceptable. Just doing and saying stupid things isn't enough if directing and acting is bad. You can definitely see how actors weren't in sinc with each other. One would reach perfectly to a situation for example, and then other actor in the same scene reacts totally differently like one is funny scared and other is horror movie scared, you know what I mean? One is taking it really seriously and other is acting comedy properly. Ahhh whatever it's just a waist pf precious time amd DONT DO IT! It awfully awful !!

I had higher hopes for this movie considering the cast. It had a few laughs here and there, but it was generally an unfunny mess. There was no character development or actual story arc. It was just a serious of bits. A few laughs, but I debated not finishing the movie while watching it. Overall very disappointing.

This is one of the most wonderful family movies I have seen. Pure wide eyed innocence is rarely utilised so well.
I loved the story. I loved the characters.
I struggle to understand why it was rated so poorly.

I had the misfortune of having the television on when "Nature Calls" came on late the other evening. Enjoying some of Johnny Knoxville's work I thought I'd sit down and watch it. What I watched was appalling degrading cultural stereotyping especially of Thiecoura Cissoko's character Dwande, the mocking religious beliefs, 79 minutes worth of unnecessary bad language and other stereotypical roles (especially those towards women) being over-played. What I also found astounding is the movie is aimed at a young audience with a sizable child cast. Why does Hollywood think producing this crap is wanted and does it take a moment to weigh up it's own moral values to the audience it seeks to empress. An absolutely appalling movie to which all copies should be burnt. Shame on you Knoxville.

This film raises serious questions, such as should I give my copy away or throw it out? Randy (Patton Oswalt) is determined to take a group of boys on a scouting trip. He persuades the kids with a corny scout video to the dismay of everyone and absconds with the kids to the woods. The film had potential, but didn't know which way to go. The frequency of crude humor prevented it from being a kid's film. The crude juvenile humor prevented it from becoming a good adult film. It should have appeal to an adolescent crowd, one too young for the rating.
The characters are poorly developed. Leonard, whose mother coddles him, is not utilized. Kent's attraction for the older women could have been made more for an adult audience, as long as the film is going that way. What was with the naked girl on the motorcycle? The opening scene was idiotic as scout masters take on the responsibility of informing a child his father has died.
Are there funny scenes? Yes. In spite of all the crudeness, there were scenes which made me laugh, but too few to put up with a poorly written production. At one point I thought they were going to mimic "Lord of the Flies," but that fell flat. I think a LOTF spoof would have worked better i.e. make Leonard a fat kid they call "Piggy" etc.
Watch at you own risk.

This story has so much depth. You have to wade through so much crap and unnecessarily cheesy acting to get to the heart. Patton Oswalts character Randy, is an unsuccessful scout leader who wants to bring back the troop and also teach a group of sheltered, inexperienced young boys the meaning of being a scout. Along with Randys ailing father who founded the troop, Randy talks the kids into camping, not in the church parking lot as the mothers have decided, but into the woods. I understand that this movie is shaky and mixed up, also poorly constructed, HOWEVER, there is a wonderful story in all of this.
I would like to say that I love Thiecoura Cissokos character Dwande. He is the adoptive son of Randy's brother Kirk. He doesn't have talking parts on screen, but his sad eyes are all that is needed. He sees how his parents act and talk about him right in front of his face. He longs for adventure and on the camping trip he finds it.
Also Randy brings along his elderly and ailing father who feels a great deal towards the troop. He has seen it dwindle and you can tell he is worried about the future of the Boy Scouts. The presence of Randys father is essential to the story, sort of a passing of the torch to the next generation. Kirk later remarks that he should be at the nursing home that he has paid for, instead of camping with Randy and the children. I feel this is the best part of the story, and while the kids reach the camp ground at sunset and they are all around the fire and talking you can see tears in the mans eyes. Being able to relate to this story and knowing a great deal about Scouting, I find this scene emotional.

This movie was so terrible that I told my brother that I would give him $1 for every minute he made it through. I had to watch it in 4 installments over 3 weeks because it was that terrible. I'm down $22.
There were parts of the movie that were just screaming. When I say screaming, I literally mean screaming about whatever subject popped into the actor's brain. There could have not been a script. I'm serious. If there was a script, I would be incredibly surprised. My other theory is they all did a ton of muscle relaxers and tried to act on them.
If you do decide that you want to watch this movie make sure you have your wife/husband/friend lock away all your knives, guns, razors, sharp items, rope, etc. Because it's that bad.
Save yourself some time and energy and read Youtube comments instead of watching this "movie".
