I tried to watch this but really struggled. The film isn't very interesting it's one of those "you need to watch because it's so rubbish" type films The is quite simply the worst of the worst I'm not even sure what the storyline is. Not gonna write an essay about it simply not worth it

I am totally convinced this was made by 4th graders and passed off as a serious flick. The acting by the kids is so bad even my 7 year old was rolling her eyes. The CGI looked like something a kid would experiment with in 3rd grade and the story line was just all over the place!People who are giving positive reviews for this one have either a vested interest or they are high on something. I have seen some terrible movies in my time but this really isn't that bad, it's just sad.

Currently on a visit to NSW, and staying with family in Lithgow, they told us that much of this movie had been shot in their street. So on our first evening here they put it on. After the drive up from Sydney, and then a few drinks over dinner, I soon began to doze off. I guess I ended up watching about half of it, but it really failed to interest me at all. I don't mind that it was a low budget offering, but what I could grasp of the plot was that it was pointless and rambling. The kids tried hard, so I will give it 3/10, but it is best avoided, or otherwise used as a cure for insomnia.

The first 20 to 30 seconds are quite good, dramatic music, good effects etc but then when the movie really begins, the whole thing comes apart. What really set the alarm bells ringing was the moment early in the movie where the boys sneak out after dark and go collect their grounded mate to go search for UFO's in the forest, its pretty late at night right, its pitch black outside, and the boys are on their bikes (ET anyone?) and who do they bump into on the street like its a Saturday afternoon? a chick from the same class as the leading actor, she goes "oh hi chuck.." (or whatever the hell the lead actors name is) and he says "oh hi Bronwyn..." like what on earth is a girl of 12 or whatever roaming the streets at that hour? She grabs her bike and goes with them... Later the kid goes to his brother... "I'm keeping him".... that's straight outta ET. You are supposed to fall in love with the dinosaur because he hops up on the robot vacuum and rides round the house on it.... Maybe if the dinosaur opened up the fridge and cracked open a beer I'd fall in love but nah, in the end I couldn't give a damn if they shot the CGI dinosaur dead. Watched the 2nd half of the movie in fast forward. Sorry film makers but you have to put some thought into your next movie. Getting some basic things right is the first step...

Normally, if a movie is as intolerable and downright pathetic as "My Pet Dinosaur" was, I would pause it at the earliest chance and scour through Netflix for something better. Unfortunately, I was watching this movie with two others and had to sit through what can be genuinely described as the worst movie experience of my entire life. Words cannot truly describe how bad this movie was and I'm genuinely enraged by the thought that a group of people came together and decided that this movie was worth producing and then distributing. Trash.

OK so it is not the greatest movie ever. however, I thought it was done well enough to keep me till the end! Sure it was a little poor quality i.e. lighting, some CGI and the what not yet It was still good!! The hungry kid made me bust out laughing with a couple of lines and there were a few more chuckles also! Overall do not go into this film with high expectations just go in to enjoy a simple film that will take you away for a bit!!

I have low expectations for children's films because they're usually terrible. This film isn't very good, even by those low standards. You can see that it wants to be a family friendly action film, with a bit of heartwarming stuff between the kid and his dinosaur. It fails pretty hard at that. There's no humour or charm here. There's no chemistry between the actors, or between the actors and the cgi creatures. The set pieces are weak. Both my child and I got bored very quickly. It's a shame, because it could have been so much better. We deffo need films like this.

An hour and half of life gone forever. Crap acting ... sums the whole film up. Felt like an attempt to rip off "Stranger Things" with "Jurassic Park".
