As a Norwegian, this was embarrassing to watch. Really bad Norwegian language. In fact, I don't think there were any authentic Norwegians with a speaking role at all. The Santa Lucia singing show was actually really bad. Why not just dub the song so that I actually sounded like Norwegian? Beats me. But I pulled through it actually. Watched the entire movie hoping it got better. Northern lights in Bergen is really, really rare. And when it is there, it's really soft and dim. You can hardly see it. But in this movie, it was theatrically strong and vivid lights. Not realistic to watch at all. Better luck next time.

As a Norwegian i am offended. If I were an american i might would have enjoyed it. However, I don't see how this film in a single way shows how the Norwegian Christmas spirit is in any single way. Yes, they have bunad, brunost, krumkake and trolls, yet that does not contribute to the Norwegian Christmas tradition by themselves. Just why couldn't you at least had grandma or Anders casted as Norwegians, or even just someone American, so weird to hear someone "talk" Norwegian and a 100% hearing they don't even know what they are saying. A disgrace. Not even the extras were norwegian. A no from me unfortunately.

As a Norwegian, this is terrible. Why in the world would they not use norwegian kids in the Lucia show??? They used Americans who tried to sing in Norwegian and failes miserably. The grandmas house is not Norwegian and the "brunost" does not look like that. Even the people walking in the street are not Norwegian. Like I don't understand, why in the world would you not use norwegian actors for the roles in Norway so that it's actually authenthic. Oh and you almost never see the nothern lights in Bergen. It far too south for it to show up. Oh and also you can't stand in the middle of the city with all the lights and expect to see it. You have to go out from the city and away from the city-light. And no, that's not how we do weddings. NOTHING MAKES SENSE!! This could literaly be filmed anywhere else, it has nothing to do with Norway. What a stupid movie. I'm actually offended. Do not watch this if you want to learn about norwegian culture. If you want a stupid movie, then watch.

There are not Even one Norwegian caracter in this movie. Nobody can say anything correct in Norwegian. This is just so wrong!!! And, why?! We have a lot of good Norwegian actors. And almost every Norwegian person speaks English, so... why? The only think that is correct, is that the city actual is Bergen and that ist is in Norway. But there is no northern light in Bergen. JJ was trying Norwegian food, but she didn't Even eat the cheese, that think on top of the vaffel was Something completely Else, not browncheese. Nobody in the movie can spell the letter R in Bergensk. I am, as a Norwegian, really offended.

As a Norwegian I'm feeling a little offended. Norwegians would not have acted this way towards Henrik. So many things about Norwegian traditions are wrong, and they couldn't even get Norwegian actors, even though they filmed in Norway. If they hadn't gotten so much wrong about Norwegian culture and had used some Norwegian actors I really do think I would have liked the film. But the mistakes are just too glearing to me, it took all my focus. (Also; geography always bothers me when American films take on Europe. Why would they walk around Bergen with alpine skis when the nearest slope is a couple of hours away.)

This one hurts to watch. I'm Norwegian and this was one of the worst attempts of pretending to be Norwegian I have ever seen. They should have used Norwegian actors and done better research on Norway. There are lots of great Norwegian actors that would have done a far better job, they would also speak better english than the actors in the movie. If there was any quality to this movie, them maybe I could have watched the whole thing. But I had too give up halfway. There is som much wrong here, I dont think any Norwegians wold give this more than one star. This was a just complete waste of time.

This is so so bad. The actors who play the norwegian people, are not even from Norway!! Maybe foreigners dont notice, but this is a disgrace for us norwegian. What was the producers thinking??? I have not watched the movie, and I'm not going to either! I just saw a 1 minite clip, and that was more than enough. It might be a really good movie for all I know, but because of the terrible language! It's like hiring actors from around the world that hasnt had english in the school to be american! No. No no no no! This doesnt make sense to me! Are you even filming in Norway? If you walk in the streets in Bergen talking that kind of norwegian, people would just look weird at you... Do better!!

As a Norwegian, from Bergen, this was hard to watch. I think I would have liked it better if I weren't, as the terrible attempts at speaking Norwegian were distracting and frankly a little offensive. I also don't buy the plot of the people who are so mad at the leading man because he failed at sports. And NO, Bryggen was not constructed in 1702, but around 1070. If you want to set a movie somewhere you don't know, at least have the decency to check Wikipedia for obvious trivia, and cast some local actors. Or give your foreign actors better language practice. They should also have casted someone older as Anders. He's not believable as the leading lady's grandfather. Other than that, the plot is okay, though far-fetched.

I'm fully aware that Hallmark movies have a reputation for being bad movies, but this one took it to a whole new level. I was first excited that Bergen finally was used as a location in a film. But after seeing the result I really wish it never happened The film has made zero effort, and I really mean zero, to actually find out what Norwegians are like and what traditions we have. None of the actors are Norwegian and it is absolutely horrible to listen to when they try to speak Norwegian. It sounds like a terrible parody and feels distasteful. As a norwegian myself I had to use subtiles to understand what they were saying. The general plot of the film matched every other Hallmark movies. Extremely generic, not very good actors and awkward to watch It's embarrassing that this is how Bergen and the people of Bergen are portrayed in film... save yourself wasting an hour and a half ish and do not watch it.
