The movie did not quite sit well with me. The name of the movie is contradictory too. The beginning was nice...till Celine actually won. Went against my better judgement. Was done with this review at the first two paragraphs, but apparently I have you type 600 words. So here it is: The acting is great, but the storyline is wack. But just as I write this, I realise that I'm saying this because I am looking at it from a third person point of view. It's very likely that this would have been what would have happened in an average American home....but not in Africa. In Africa, the other family would have moved immediately she took the child to the top floor balcony. We are not this trusting in Africa. The ending sucked big time. The wicked won...not good.

I like it. So many unfair bad reviews. It has a great premise and the movie makes you empathize with Alice (Jessica Chastain) and also with Celine (Anne Hathaway). I was wondering all the time who was right and who was wrong. Yes, it's true that the 3rd act is not as interesting as the rest of the movie, that it would have been better to keep it as a movie about trust, tragedy and the consequences of those in relationships. But the ending takes another path, and is not wrong. It's actually interesting. Anne and Jessica both have amazing scenes together. My god! Those two can say so much with just one look. It was a pleasant movie.

You think you are watching a really good movie, great acting, and edge of your seat drama but then comes the ending....if you are like me you will be more than pissed off. OK to kill everybody off but why not have the cops come with a warrant for her arrest. Come on, 60s or whenever, no one is going to have all those deaths happening around them without suspicion. I have to write two hundred more words to warn you not to watch this movie if you are like me and want the bad people to get their due "reward" at the end of the movie. I am so thankful I didn't pay to watch this movie. Have to say that the acting in first rate.

Movie scripts like this one are poison to the human soul. I wouldn't recommend anyone watch anything like this. People are in desperate need of the opposite, like the ordinary angels movie. Lately, there are lots of dark, sinister productions almost as if there is some propaganda to make people fear and hate each other instead of love and support each other. Why would anyone want to sit and watch people portrayed as mentally messed up going on killing sprees? How does that benefit society? There has been an onslaught of TV shows and movies that paint a horrible picture of the world. It is what we want it to be. Is this what we want it to be?
