My excitement to see the Montauk Chronicles was spurred on by a radio programme on the release of the internet movie earlier this month. In that programme, the organiser was interviewed and a great deal of information was shared. I was so excited to pay for and download the movie to learn more about the Montauk Project. I researched the film and learnt that it had been a decade or more in the making, having been crowdsourced. I would imagine, then, that there were quite a few people interested in hearing some information about the subject of the Montauk Project.
SPOILER ALERT:
While the cinematography, lead ups, suspense, scariness and special effects were amazing in the film, I cannot recommend the film because I actually learnt more information in the radio programme than I did in the film. I was left feeling that perhaps the truth that is "missing" is that select persons have been implanted with false memories of the Montauk Project, or, more likely, that it was a psy op to mislead us from something else that happened on the site. My opinion du jour is that there were several consipirators, some of whom the filmmaker had to ply over a decade, who felt that they could promote their own products, selves or sales of their own materials based upon an elaborate tale. You may think me horribly harsh to say this based upon the allegations of abject cruelty in the film by those who appeared but do, as the filmmaker suggests, look at the expressions and body language of those speaking. Do you see wincing, agitation, hand wringing, nails into palms, sweating or pupils dilating? No? Me neither. SPOILER ALERT: It's another MOCKUMENTARY. I feel foolish and it's not the first time. Filmmakers who think we like to be titillated this way need to study the victims of sociopaths to see that it is neither "entertaining", nor is good fun. To those of us interested in such subjects, it's a right slap in the face.
It is said that it took 10 years and crowdsourcing to produce the film. 10 years and such a slapdash job at evidence, finding others who had similar experiences? One need only see the complaints of crowdsource contributors up until this year to see the anger they have had until recently about the lack of production of the film. (No, I'm not an investor, I was only introduced to this through a C2C radio programme just this month.)
Would it take 10 years to produce this film? No, IMHO. Is it an overproduced, over-SFXed rebuttal to the lack of a product of the crowdsourcing for the past 10 years? My uneducated guess is: yes. See the first half hour and see if you don't chafe at the overproduction and lack of documentary content. I'm not referring to documentation of the Montauk project, only to my perception that it would have been better to hear more unedited reports from the experiencers in the film, so as to make our own conjectures, as the filmmaker asks us, as to whether the subjects of the film are cracked, telling the truth or just making fun of us all for paying for the film, rather than the SFX.
As they say, your milage may vary.

Even as a believer of this and other cover-ups I will sum it all up by saying that this absolute piece of GARBAGE home-movie does not possess enough redeeming qualities to even lick the sweat off my balls - it really, truly, deeply is THAT bad. It FAR surpasses any other 90+ minute feature-film I have seen to date as the absolute WORST, without another even coming close to this bad.
Put it this way - if I could sue for the two hours of my life this movie has taken from me, I would. It should contain a warning for those with depression issues to refrain from watching at the risk of it pushing you to want to take that dive off the bridge.
And if you think of bad cheesy sound effect loops as hypothetical clip-art for your ears, then this movie just holds down CTRL-V and pastes every bad one you've never heard (for good reason) literally back-to-back for two solid hours. Have Tylenol handy while watching. You WILL be asking yourself by the end if someone possibly slipped you LSD or if this moronic film-maker just got ahold of some

A must see documentary on the Mk Ultra mind programming in Montauk. It's not asking your opinion, just watch it and learn from it. Well filmed and well put together. So glad I found it. True terror that is mind expanding and enlightening. A movie for the higher mind that shows what the US government got up to in the 70's onward.

I ordered Montauk Chronicles after hearing about it on line.
The movie was extremely well constructed throughout and it looked entirely beautiful.
Clearly great care went into the whole thing.
I've never actually seen anything quite like it to be honest.
I also appreciate the non biased approach of the makers.
They didn't shove their point of view down my throat or try to convince me of anything.
It was an involved and rich two hours.
I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience a completely different kind of documentary.
I loved how they mixed movie scenes in with the interviews.
It's terrific. I will revisit my disc.

I've been an avid researcher of this story since the very first book came out and I can assure anyone with the slightest interest that this movie is superior to anything that's been written about the situation... ever.
It's as if the director brought the books to life in a way that made perfect sense. A little history of the Montauk Project begins with Preston Nichols first book. In comparison to the movie it doesn't even contain a fraction of the information or emotion. The movie was very well made and I can't think of a better movie of its type. The director chose not to focus on the tangential stories such as the Philly Experiments or Operation Paperclip but that just left more for the subjects to talk about MONTAUK. I'm interested in seeing where other directors take the Montauk thing but as of right now this is the only movie on the subject and it is tremendous. Great job guys.

I purchased Montauk Chronicles last month and I wasn't really knowing what to expect. I saw the trailer after hearing the director speak on Coast To Coast AM. I'm a HUGE movie fan. I was born in 1954 and I've had many years to absorb and watch each following decade of movies unfold before my eyes. I'm really turned off by most movies of today. It seems like we lost something in recent years. So here comes Montauk Chronicles a docudrama that covers the tale of three men who say they were part of secret government experiments in the 1970's I was immediately taken by the images/cinematography in the movie. It seems like every frame was pondered over and frankly is quite beautiful. But after a while I realized I've never seen anything quite like this movie before. The central story is good and the interviews are interesting but I was sincerely focused on the craftsmanship in this film. The editing, camera work, creative decisions are all the work of an artist. It's honestly some of the best science fiction or horror images put on film that I've seen in a VERY long time. As for the topic covered. I think the men could be telling the truth about this experiment. They're interesting enough to listen to. It's really the movie as a whole that takes the front seat for me. Bravo. I cannot wait to see what this director makes next.

Christopher Garetano's Montauk Chronicles is one of the best documentaries I've seen, if not number one on that list.
As you would expect of any first-rate documentary, Montauk Chronicles more than delivers in the content department - with candid interviews of the men who were themselves subjected to this horrific project - but add to its unrivaled substance, Christopher Garetano's artistic vision and extraordinary attention to detail, and you have a true example of cinematic masterpiece.
Montauk Chronicles is undeniably visually stunning, almost immersive - more rich, polished and alluring than even the best that Hollywood has to offer with all of the many millions of dollars spent on mainstream movies who's only hope is to entertain. Christopher Garetano has distinguished himself as a master documentarian, having created with Montauk Chronicles not just a film, but an experience - and that in this day and age is a level of care and expertise not often exacted, even by those most honored, the appointed crowned royals of the filmmaking elite.
For Truth Seekers on any path, of any level of curiosity or experience, this is a MUST SEE FILM. MUST SEE. Watch it, then tell your friends to watch it.
