The accents are appalling... Being from the area that the movie was filmed at, I'm insulted that the actors refused to learn a Cajun accent instead of sounding like a redneck hillbilly from northern Louisiana. You should really have you writers and production staff research and visit mot just the area but also the people and culture of that area to increase the illusion of reality. The bar scene at dock of the bay, really sierra Nevada IPA, really. Any abita beer would have been more appropriate, Bud light at the least. Other then that I enjoyed the story and plot very much. Oh, by the way, Louisiana is home to coyotes. Other then that I have really nothing else to write about. I hope everyone else enjoyed the picture as much as I did even with my discrepancies. Ya'll have a great day.

Getting the flick on Blu-Ray as a gift on Halloween, I was disappointed to find that the disc did not work. Curious about viewing it,I was happy to stumble on the movie as part of a triple DVD Sy-Fy Channel film set this year, which led to me at last facing the Monsterwolf. View on the film: Put together on a low TV movie budget, director Todor Chapkanov & cinematographer Lorenzo Senatore wisely keep the monster from being fully seen in daylight, instead going for brief glimpses at the howling terror of the wolf. Whilst a bit on the heavy-handed side, the screenplay by Charles Bolon displays some ambition in linking the horror of the Deep South town going on a monster hunt, with the ecological horror of Native American land being destroyed by big business. Snarling almost as much as the monster, Robert Picardo gives an enjoyable boo-hiss performance as the baddie who takes on the Monsterwolf.

A creature of ancient legend manifests, bound to protect the ecological balance of the land as well as kill anyone that threatens it. This elusive guardian is both feared and celebrated by the locals. However, a deadly curse soon impacts them all, uniting them with the goal of recapturing the monster wolf's spirit or facing their ultimate doom. The film was part of Syfy's 31 Days of Halloween 2010 and premiered on Syfy October 9, 2010. Yeah, you know how it is for oil workers. You try to find a new place to drill, set off an explosion and unleash a wolf-like creature that kills all of your co-workers. Time to fill out an incident report! Director Todor Chapkanov has worked second unit on big films like The Hitman's Bodyguard and London Has Fallen. This was written by Charles Bolon, who was also behind Swamp Shark. Robert Picardo, who played Eddie Quist in The Howling, is now ironically facing off with a werewolf in this one. This movie is in no way as good as that film, but I'm sure you already guessed that.

That is right I got this movie for 50 P on Blu Ray. I wondered how bad it could be. This was before I worked out I had just bought a Sci fi Channel movie. It has Robert Picardo from Voyager in it. He hams it up really rather well. Also The utterly gorgeous Leonor Varela. Not only can she act but she is also the main reason I liked this movie. The story is typical nonsense. A spiritual wolf is protecting the ancient Indian burial ground gets lets loose evil frackers and oil workers. Who will win the battle between the monster wolf and them, etc. We have all heard it before. They effects department switches between some pretty ropey cgi and what looks to be a prosthetic head. It conveys the monster is out there. That is about as good as it gets. The acting is first rate for what it a fun attempt at a horror flick. This is a average action horror movie. Also it stars Leonor Varela who is gorgeous. It is worth watching if it comes on the horror channel or the Sci fi channel.

The Holter Oil Company wants to drill for oil in Acadia Parish, Louisiana and make everyone rich, They are getting resistance from the local Native Americans. They discover a ceremonious wrapped spare tire with a CG flame and attempt to C4 it. The tire remained and the Cachina Hua'a spirit was invoked as the Werewolf of Louisiana targets Holter Oil Company employees. Home town girl and NY lawyer Maria Bennett (Leonor Varela) returns home to aid the evil oil company take the land from the citizens. Her old boyfriend Yale (Jason London) is also there so we can also make this a love story with premarital sex. This is a made for TV production that included good characters and decent dialogue. Ricky Wayne could pass for the illegitimate child of Nicklaus Cage. Guide: No swearing. clothed sex scene. No nudity.

HEY EVERYBODY ITS ME,(4) and today we review ..... the boy who cried monster wolf ...the movie !!!!!!! Now 2010 sci fi wolf monster creature feature film starring captain pocard-o .....and that one guy who youve seen in tons of movies BUT you always get confused for that OTHER guy that looks the exact same and is in TONS of movies .... YEA "THAT "guy .... oh and also it stars some chick .... yup ... thats the cast .... lol.... very memorable people ....seriously though ... the one guy was in war-treck ? ... or battlestargate 9 ? ....maybe that xxxfiles one ? I dont know some nerd show lol....... but here we have an over all basic creature feature with solid pacing .... it gives you a monster wolf pretty early on and keeps it coming back regularly instead of the classic last 10 minutes the monster shows up ...so thats nice... it keeps the film moving ....HOWEVER the cgi ....leaves a little to be desired but can be forgiven considering the era of its creation ..2010 was still that limbo zone of "how low can , (your pocket book go)" and still get cgi on screen .... sadly it usually had this kind of out come ....personally, practical FX is gold ....but seeing a terrible puppet on screen for me ALWAYS beats a terrible cgi monster lol....this cgi had some decent moments but also some ....meh ....maybe not so decent moments .... acting was solid overall on level for these sci fi saturday flick style movies .... and all the technical aspects were well done, sound lighting etc .... the story wasnt anything really new ...kind of a classic "person comes back to small town" then re-ignites lost love team up to fight evil ....yadda yadda ...my issue is this ....and spoiler ???? The mythological story went .... dude sacrifices himself to become wolf .... other dude sacrifices HIMSELF to kill evil revenge wolf and carry his soul to the otherside thus ending the terror of monster wolf centuries ago...... - fast forward to the end of the movie - .... chick dies in order to "carry the revenge wolf to the other side ?" ...BUT then they bring her back to life to have happily ever after ending ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Thats literally NOT how they said you have to do it .... they obviously didnt read the instructions on the cave wall ...lol... shame on you .... if that was to be the case WHY even write that in the story then ? ..just say hey you use some magic thing to kill wolf ... BAM no threat of her death and pow ..happy ending ... the "fake out" ending held NOTHING for us as the audience because we already knew better ...DUH dont treat us like were dumb .... i mean most of us are BUT still ... honeslty i would have respected this film hard core IF she would have just died like it WAS WRITTEN IN THE LITERALLY STORY THEY WERE TOLD HAD TO HAPPEN !!!!!!!!!!!! .... over all was it entertaining ? ... i mean yea it was okay, .... honestly if they would have done a practical FX, and fixed that plot hole big enough to get your car stuck in .....then i would give this one a bit more but as it stands its entertaining enough to watch once..BUT i have about 30 more werewolf/giant wolf like films i would put infront of this one to watch a second time around first.... 5/10.

Returning to her hometown, a woman working on a pending legal matter with the local Indian group finds herself in the middle of a rampage by a supernatural creature that has a long history with the tribe and must race to stop it before the whole town is killed. This here was quite a fun and exciting Sci-Fi Channel offering. As to be expected here, this one really gets fun here with all of the attack and confrontations throughout here, which again comes with the long, involved action scenes and the quick, shorter ambushes which enable the plot to keep such a steady pace. The shorter ones are a lot of fun, from the ambushes on the litterer in the forest as the phantom attack sets up the failed barricade and eventual attack inside the trailer, while other fun shorter attacks include the ambush on her home as holding it off and finally getting away are quite fun and the trap at the police state gets some suspenseful stalking to go along with the great kill. Along with these, the film also manages to get a lot out of its longer scenes here, starting with the great fun of the awakening as it emerges from the ruins towards the group of works and chases them into the pit where it slaughters the crew, a really fine ambush in the woods where it stalks a group of hunters with little difficulty and the later mercenary team attack that features the final round of attacks and gun-play against the creature which gives this one some really enjoyable action. This one also works in the big finale as well with the creature having some fun with the guards before being taken out in a fine display of action that ends this one on a positive note. This one also manages to get some pretty good times here in the titular creature, not only in terms of its' wolf-like design and figure but also the absolutely fun back-story here that actually comes off rather intriguing by tying this into the Native American legends of vengeance which captures some interesting bits that give this a really interesting part of the film. Along with the bloody kills and gore throughout here, these here give this quite an enjoyable time here which is enough to hold out the few minor flaws. The main thing holding this one down is the lengthy and overlong opening, which tends to go a little too long in the reuniting part the past section of her returning back to town as meeting up with everyone as she settles in or shows the friends hanging out in a bar together. These are just a little too long to make much of an impression on the pace here. The other big flaw here is the per-usual CGI on display for the wolf, which is constantly way too blurry and out-of-focus to get much going here for what it's trying to show since this blocks out a lot of the detail that could've made it look a little better, along with all the usual problems here with the special differences, size changing and inability to connect with anything around. This is so expected that it's not nearly as detrimental as it should've been. Along with a few lame attacks in here that are too dark to see, these here are all that hold this one back. Rated Unrated/R: Graphic Violence and Language.

It's basically about a Native American shapeshifter or spirit wolf who protects his area it's ironically from those destroying the environment and Native American habitat. It's the last Native American in the area that can destroy the werewolf. The acting is pretty good in this one. The CGI is OK - it's actually not bad. The story, is merely OK - it's not great but it's not all that bad either. I find this one somewhere in the middle. It's not too bad for a made for TV movie - hey at least they created a werewolf movie lol. If you like werewolf movies and have seen most of them already - I would say go ahead and watch this one to check off your I have seen this werewolf movie list. 5/10
