Not enough was said about the peer pressure involved in this culture. Where was this in the defense? While I could feel for the main character, it wasn't even clear as to what really went down in this crime.
ASAP ROCKY was great. Without him I would have enjoyed this movie even less.

As a film maker... Everything in me wants to say that this film is one of the most beautifully shot and crafted films that there has been, but everything in me hopes that the team (David Devlin, Joe Klotz, Anthony Mandler) get together and shoot more amazing films with incredible stories woven throughout.
Well done guys.

The movie was beautifully shot and the cast was perfect. The plot had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and the ending left me devastated.

I found this movie fascinating! I think of all these people who were unjustly convicted and some did not even manage to get out of prison alive!

Very surprised to see the rating as 6.5; without keeping any kind of bias on your mind - if you just rate it as a movie: no one can't rate it below 8. A bare Minimum of EIGHT. Kudos to the director & the whole team.
Wonderful representation of a courtroom drama with absolute touch of reality. With an elegant, impacting & charismatic screen presence from both lead characters Harmon & Obrien (Harrison Jr & Jennifer respectively in real). Just loved it.
Recommended: YES.

Interesting story about a good kid getting caught up in a bad situation. The voiceover was a bit heavy handed at times. I didn't understand the decision to have Kelvin Harrison Jr tell us how tough he was finding prison but barely show it. I didn't feel as strong a connection to Harrison Jr's character as I should have. There were good performances from the entire cast. The best scenes were when the actors got a chance to show emotion. The aspiring filmmaker plot didn't really deliver. The girlfriend's scenes with Harrison Jr were good but she doesn't have much to do post arrest. Ultimately the film tells a realistic story but leaves a lot to be desired.

In the flashbacks near the end showing that he did act as lookout changed the entire story. If he did act as lookout, he was obviously in fear of what they would do to him if he didn't. If so, he was not responsible for the robbing or the killing, that would have happened with or without him. He was a good kid, who was bullied into doing a bad thing. These things happen all the time. It is indeed a slippery slope.

Well, I honestly liked the movie, the script seems to me to do the job (and gets an extra point for having seen this movie after The 40 Year Old Version), the performances are very good, I was surprised by Travis Scott and the main actor is that of Me, Earl and the Dying Girl (I loved that movie and with this interpretation it fulfills the prediction that we all made with that movie). I believe without a doubt that the greatest success is the structuring of the story, which is finally achieved thanks to the direction and editing decisions.
