This movie makes an attempt to address a social issue, but seems to miss a very important truth: social media stars are incredibly hardworking, and are not just instantly famous. The years of putting in their hours, day and night, editing, hitting the walls of mere partial interest from highly expectant fans...
Okay- if you believe that, then go ahead and watch this movie, as you may find it somehow realistic.
Otherwise, just...watch it for the sake of passing time, or if you are in a hotel gym and the person hoarding the remote is on their third cycle of cardio. Or, if your significant other owes you a movie and you are very intent on punishing them for some reason; this is excellent for that purpose!
The acting was probably the least distracting thing for me, but the ridiculous storyline- the fact that they made it seem as if anyone could 'go viral' (just like playing 'go fish' which also happens in this movie!).
The lead character (child) is given a script that makes the audience immediately dislike her, although there were a few times that you may genuinely feel sorry for her.
The nanny was more invested than any adult, but after the incident that happens, there is no follow up between the child and the nanny. Any nanny would steer clear of that situation after being put through that hellacious moment with the spawn of satan.
The mother was actually likeable to me, but I've been known to find the good in just about anything. I thought the villain resembled a younger version of Joel Osteen, too, which was even more bizarre!
The movie forgot to give any sort of closure to Mom's struggle - is she indeed ready to be a full mom again? No idea.
Sorry, 6 stars for the fact that I stayed alert and didn't fall asleep. (Took me 3 cycles of cardio, however.)

Basically it's 1 hour and 23 minutes of my life that I will never get back. I kept waiting for a climax to the movie but that never happened. The acting was horrible from almost all characters. There were a lot of things that must be left to the imagination because the writers completely left very important details out that should have been written in. I definitely would not recommend this unless it's something you have playing in the background as noise. I've seen better acting in home videos and stories based on truth have a much better plot. All in all it was a terrible film that I would not recommend to my worst enemy.

If you approach this movie as a comedy, you might like it. Compared to other lifetime thrillers, the material is actually (kind of) original, plus there are lots of funny moments. One of the better LMNs I've seen!

I agree with others. The dad, the nanny, and the best friend are the most likeable characters, but unfortunately, the movie doesn't revolve around them. The girl is a brat who needs structure and boundaries (that her dad gives her), the mom is into drugs and is clearly low key seduced by the money and fame that can be made off her daughter. I liked in the climax how the villain called her on it. He was pathetic too, but that was the realest moment.
Some parts of the movie were overly complicated. I didn't realize at first that the dad's business partner (?) and the jilted employee of the contest were two different people. Whatever the villain's name was, his being indebted for hundreds of thousands and relying on conning a mother and child for unpredictable social media success was silly.
The social media movies are quite cringe most of the time, so this movie had that working against it. The movie also didn't deal with how the mom's poor choices put her daughter (due to seeing $$$ and falling for the first guy in a long time) in danger.
It's a miss. 4 stars because I finished it.

The Spritzio Soda company is offering a $500,000 bonanza to the winner of the Rising Stars video contest, and little Olivia is thrilled with the opportunity to post her videos and compete. Her mom (Lauren) and dad (Bradley) are separated. But Lauren has started dating a man named Aiden, who claims he can help young Olivia with her videos.
Olivia has recently discovered a new ap called Sparxy, and she begins posting her videos and getting a substantial number of "likes." Meanwhile, the scoundrel Aiden links up with Misha, a disgruntled employee of Spritzio, and they connive to rig the contest, then abscond with the winnings of Olivia. The major dramatic question will be how gullible Lauren will become in succumbing to the charms of Aiden.
The well-crafted screenplay was complemented by a number of interesting settings, including the large mansion where Aiden was squatting. Some of the best scenes were those of the con artists, Aiden and Misha, as they conceived their hare-brained scheme.
There was an excellent ensemble cast, and the film was well-directed with good transitions and pacing. The focus was not so much on the dangers of social media and an appealing ap like Sparxy. Instead, there was an emphasis on human frailty in which a vulnerable mother in recovery for alcoholism learns a lesson in poor judgment when she places too much faith in the kindness of a stranger.

This movie was a bad one, and it was so fake. I'm on social media apps and whoever wrote this script must have been 99 or they could be young and don't know a lot about social media. Everything the kids they showed doing looked nothing like anything that would go viral. It was so phony I couldn't really pay attention to anything else. I would hate to think anyone who knows anything about social media regardless of age would think this looked realistic.

Thought this was going to be good. Very disappointed. By far the worst acting ever seen. Lifetime usually has some great shows but they missed the mark on this one. I'm sure they could've found better actors. Just awful!

I'm a big fan of Lifetime movies but this one missed the mark. Bad acting from a few of the characters. Thought the child actor was mis-cast. Kept waiting for the movie to be over.
