Okay, you know those ladies nights? Whether it's just you alone, chilling with a bowl of popcorn, or it's you and your sisters or your neighbor or your mom or your aunt or your cousin, this movie is perfect for a night in and a good laugh. The jokes are timeless and hilarious, the romance is predictable (but I see nothing wrong with that if it's done well) and the bond the main women form on screen is brilliant. 100% recommend.

All right, I admit it. I really admire Sandra Bullock. Heck! I even added her to my Blockbuster Video account (back when there was a Blockbuster Video) as an authorized user, just in case she ever wanted to rent a movie and didn't have any cash on hand. Miss Congeniality is typical "Fish-out-of-Water" comedy, with one big difference. They happened to have cast the perfect person to play the "Fish", and the resulting film surpasses all other films of the same entertaining format. Her down-to-earth attitude, sharp wit, good looks, physical and acting skills pulls off this role as no other actress could have done. A perfect example of what happens when making a movie, any type of movie, when everything and everyone meshes together. If you ever what to just sit down, relax, escape your own troubles and just enjoy the next couple of hours, watch this movie.

I think this is an excellent movie. Ok, so you don't have to think about it too much, but if you just wanna watch a nice friendly relaxing movie, I think this is perfect! I've seen it maybe 5 times and is definitely one of my favourites at the moment... I can understand why some people think its boring and all-been-done-before, but Sandra Bullock is a little sweetiepie and the best thing is its pretty much non-offensive unlike so many these days! Before I saw it I thought it might be terrible (beauty pageant - urgh!) but its DEFINITELY worth a watch :)

This movie is to chick flicks what "The Godfather" and "The Godfather Part 2" are to guy movies. It's on TV just about every day of the year on one cable network or another. "Miss Congeniality" is hardly great art, but it's a lot of fun and holds up better than a lot of similar films. Sandra Bullock is irresistible as "Dirty Harriet," a grungy FBI agent who goes undercover as a contestant at a beauty pageant to foil a terrorist. She''s transformed from nerd to bombshell with help from a prissy pageant consultant (the always brilliant Michael Caine). Bullock's pratfalls are endearing, and her musical wine glass playing is reason alone to see the film. Heather Burns is likable as the beauty queen Bullock befriends, and Candace Bergen and William Shatner are in their campy glory as the pageant's hosts. Unlike other beauty pageant comedies ("Smile," "Drop Dead Gorgeous") "Miss Congeniality" treats its subject with affection rather than disdain. It's a movie both men and women can enjoy.

Miss Congeniality has Sandra Bullock as kick ass Gracie Hart. A FBI agent who prefers to be one of the lads. The unglamorous and frumpy Gracie is gung ho who finds herself going undercover when a terrorist threatens to blow up a national beauty pageant. Vic Melling (Michael Caine) has the task of turning Gracie into a graceful beauty contestant. Gracie needs to find out just who the baddie is but she keeps falling over her high heels. Eric Matthews (Benjamin Bratt) is the team leader who never trusts Gracie's instincts. Miss Congeniality would had worked if the lead actress was really a butch tomboy that would magnificently turn into a swan. I never believed Bullock was an ugly duckling who preferred beers with the boys and getting into fights. This is a loose and frothy action romantic comedy that is not that funny and has little action. It relies too much on pratfalls. Caine does best as the veteran gay pageant coach but the movie is lukewarm.

My Wife always loved this film & I've watched it a few times now & i like it, yeah it's a "Chick Flick" but it's done in a fun 80's or 90's Action Cop Comedy way with Sandra Bullock as the boyish nerdy Gracie Hart, an undercover FBI agent who goes to a beauty pageant to uncover some death threats & find the criminal. It's basic Cop Comedy stuff like films of it's time "Big Mommas House" & "Blue Streak" among others & it works fine for what it is & there's a really decent cast surrounding Bullock's fun character with the always great yet underused ERNIE HUDSON as her Captain & the excellent & very funny MICHAEL CAINE (who steals the Show here) & the legendary WILLIAM SHATNER who is hosting the pageant & is game for all the fun & the stiff but kind of ok BENJAMIN BRATT who starred alongside Bullock in DEMOLITION MAN. There's plenty of silly humour & fun in this Action comedy that is just nice entertainment & probably Bullocks best film & most likeable character.

Sandra Bullock is perfect for the role Gracie Hart. She's hilarious and irreverant but also sentimental and a true friend. She learns a great lesson on judging people while saving the lives of the contestants.
