If i could give it 11 stars I would. I just want to tske a minute to say how complex, moving, funny, and all around great this movie was. the emotional rollercoaster this movie took me on is one of the best rides ive been (and ive been to disney). i beg you to watch this cinematic master piece, your life and this world will be better for it.
David Weissman thinks up a story like no other and the 6/10 rating is an insult of horrid proportions. I have followed Luke Benward, Nicholas Braun, and Jason Dolley since the beginning of their beautiful careers and THIS their all time best work. Jason Dolley, recognized from such works as Hatching Pete and Good Luck Charlie, yet again brings an interpretation to his character Newt that no other actor on this earth could have done. The greatest movies are never given the recognition they deserve by the academy and now not even by the fans...unreal.

Why a "9" for a made-for-TV movie!? Because I try to grade movies based on what they are trying to accomplish. No, "Saving Private Ryan," this ain't, but it's not trying to be. Other parents may echo my frustation with how >incredibly< difficult it is to find a solid, watchable kids film. The "watchable" means that the writing is adequate and the actors aren't so weak that they're disruptive to adult viewers. The "kids film" means that there aren't scenes 1) that terrify little kids and/or kill off a parent (I'm lookin at you Nemo, Tarzan, Lion King, Cindarella, Frozen, on and on) or 2) have hard PG content. This movie provides a rare reminder that a movie can be solid even though it's not high budget or contains too much foul language or sex content for the under-tween kids.

Virgil Fox (Jason Dolley) is a senior at Summerton High School. Throughout his high school career, he's had a reputation as a goofball, while his childhood friends, Derek (Teven R. McQueen) and Stephanie (Chelsea Staub), have become increasingly popular. This situation changes when Virgil approaches Charlie (Luke Benward), a child prodigy who invented a time machine. Together with Zeke (Nicholas Braun), they devise a plan that allows them to go back 48 hours in time, enough to correct injustices and mistakes made by other students at the school and by themselves. To maintain the anonymity of the undertaking, they began to use the code name of Minutemen.
Edit synopsis
Very cute, that film about high school in the vision and version of the excluded nerds, with the right to a lot of bullying and prejudice, but their friendship is cute and the film is very friendly, with the right to time travel and a little bit of the butterfly effect. .. Cool little...

When a friend of mine saw my movie selection, he vowed that he would never under any circumstances watch this film. Somehow he did end up watching it and liked it. I guess I did too. I'm not sure what I was expecting but it did end up being a charming and fun film to watch. It was free at the library so I though 'What's to lose but two hours of my life.'
It reminded me of similar but better films. 1985's 'Explorers' with a young Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix is one such film, along with 'Back to the Future' (also 1985), which they make reference to in the film, and 'Clockstoppers'. If the film was made more seriously like those films it would probably stand as a great sci-fi classic. But alas it was made with a Disney Chanel quality to it. It is a sci-fi scenario processed through a pre-teen comedy lens. But remember I said I liked it.
It has enough charm and fun moments to make it a satisfying viewing experience. Like any good sci-fi story it has some good food for thought. Three high schoolers become heroes who travel back in time to save nerds from embarrassment. The time vortex they use for time travel is a whirlwind of light they use a diving board to jump into. Is saving nerds from embarrassment a good thing? Once the nerds are saved they shed their humble and peaceful personas and develop cockiness and pride. Some people have never learned that suffering and embarrassment are sometimes vehicles that strengthen a person's character and keep them humble and good.
Overall not a bad little picture. Wouldn't be bad to own in your library and is at least worth a rental.

This movie was really good. Very well written, great acting, great actors, and it was funny, but the writers didn't go out of their way to make jokes, such as in shows as Cory in the House where the characters are clueless and it's supposed to be funny, and the ending, with the teleportation comment, hinted at a sequel. This movie would be excellent as a TV show.
What I really enjoyed about this was the plot. It was well laid out, and, while the movie had it's funny moments, it wasn't to the point that it was cheesy. And the time travel was a very unique approach for Disney, with a bunch of kids being the time travelers. The actors were a good pick, with Jason Dolley, Cory's ditzy friend from Cory in the House, Luke Benward, from How to Eat Fried Worms, Nicholas Braun, from Disney movie Sky High, as the leads, and Chelsea Staub, being a Disney newcomer, does really well in her part. It also had a great soundtrack. with songs from singers such as Corbin Bleu and Aly & AJ. All in all, a very good movie, and I'd strongly recommend it.

Not exactly the best from Walt Disney Studios; but neither the worst. Adults may want to make sure there is someone younger than 14 in the room with them to save embarrassment. Three zeroes become heroes. Hi-tech geek Charlie Tuttle(Luke Benward)creates a time machine which he stole plans for from a NASA archive. He brings in Virgil(Jason Dolley), who in turn brings in the outsider Zeke(Nicholas Braun)to engineer their trips to the recent past to change embarrassing moments for themselves and other unfortunate nerds. Several government agencies including the FBI and NASA discover what is going on; but now there is a fear of a black hole destroying all time forever. Also in the cast: Chelsea Staub, J.P. Manoux, Steven R. McQueen and Kellie Cockrell.

It's a DCOM. There's only so much you can expect from it, right?
When I'm bored some afternoon, stuck home with nothing to do, I often watch a dcom. Or two if I'm feeling like tearing my hair out of my head. Actually, if I watch two, I generally feel like tearing my hair out of my head by the time I'm done because they're just...that bad. Seriously. A general DCOM has bad acting, bad filming, a bad storyline and undeveloped characters. They normally have a couple funny moments, and a good message, but that's about all they have going for them..
I love Jason Dolley. He is, most definitely, my favourite actor of all time, and he has been for over a year. He's a very good actor, and I also like what he stands for and such. He seems like a good role model as well. When I heard he was going to be in a DCOM I was like...OK. Even if the movie's bad, then I can still look at him, making it all worthwhile.
SO I watched the movie, and was pretty surprised by how decent it was.
The story-line wasn't all that bad. In fact, for a DCOM, it was pretty darn amazing. Sure, it had an occasional flaw, and some parts were sadly predictable... but it had a strong, great, underlying theme of friendship, and love, and loyalty, and it really connects to a high schooler's heart. Near the end, when Virgil is contemplating going back and changing things so "The Incident" never happens... Charlie shares how he's feeling... and tells him how the day that Virgil hated so much was his FAVOURITE day because he'd become Virgil's friend.
Awww it was so deep! <3
The acting was pretty good too. Jason is great, as a rule, and I certainly didn't find myself cringing as I watched the movie, praying that the acting would improve. The characters were well developed, and well portrayed. The principal REALLY got on my nerves... but hey, he was the only one. I liked the friendship with Virgil, Stephanie, and Derek as well. It added a deeper thought to the movie, and it really showed "true friends" and "Users". It was very accurate to high school life.
The soundtrack background music was great too. It added a great feel to the movie, and was lively and complimentery to the movie itself.
It also had some pretty funny moments. Seriously. Watch it. i don't want to spoil it for you... but it's a funny movie.
A couple downsides:
The black hole was pretty pathetic. As were a lot of the special effects. The principal was SO obnoxious. The cliques in high school were over-dramatized. I'm a high schooler, and there are NO nerds that are hated that much. The CIA was a little unrealistic as well.
The downsides though, don't change the fact that it was an awesome movie. Very cute, very tasteful, good story-line, good acting... and even a couple kisses that were long for Disney.
Great job Disney! keep it up!

Disney always knew how to make a movie for all ages. Just remember legendary small WW car Herbie...This movie is about three youngsters in high-school which will become friends, and have a lot of troubles when they invent or better said "lend" time traveling equations from NASA. Apparently they build time traveling machine from microwave oven, projector and many other parts. As time passes they decide to use machine for helping people in school, which at first seems to go very good. But the most brightest student of all, finally understands they have created a black whole which will expand and destroy all town, and after that whole Earth. Physics in the movie is something awkward, but have in mind this is a movie just for entertainment.
All in all, this is a killer time movie worthing watching, if you have time to spare. It's funny, childish, but I do not see this as a problem, because we are all children, no matter how old we are.
