This seems to be an excellent reflection of the politics of our time. It's all about how people LOOK, not about what they actually have to say: Orban, Duterte, Bolsonaro, Trump, all they do is make you feel good about being a part of some Glorious Past which never existed in real life, and in the mean time no one bothers to look at the stealing they do. Nor at their the treason. Nor at the pogroms they organize to slaughter minorities, other civilians.
That's what this film is like. All about the stunning visuals (which are stunning), but the story is completely incoherent, the actors are not likeable, and
they are (surprisingly!) sort of .... ugly. The redheaded woman has a harsh face, the male lead Freeman is ridiculously short, like 1m65 or something. And you think they're doing a half-decent job by not showing too much nudity and lewdness with regards to the child actress, which is great, right? That is, until you realize that the imagery suggests she's being buggered from behind by the machine (the scene when the little girl is bald). Also, Sam Neill is totally type casted as the Proverbial Baddie. It's not even clear what happens in the end. Does everyone die or do they live happily ever after? It seems like the writing was either done on drugs, or by autists with a severe verbal limitations.
Oh well.
2 oth 10. Because visuals.

If you are not familiar with the quantum realm or the laws of physics you will not understand this movie. I'm absolutely blown away by this movie! It was infinite in all possible ways!! All I can say is WOW!! An Albert Einstein in our time! Great movie, not for the masses.

Mindgamers is a provocative movie that explores the implications of reality. The preconceived notion that it is governed by a force that is larger than any one of us is true but to what degree. As technology moves itself inching forward towards the edge of our reality what is it that lies beyond. It is ourselves or it is a unified universe in which everyone exists at one? Mindgamers asks the question of what is possible or what is impossible at the same time? It's a logical film that requires very careful attention. If you miss a scene then you'll be completely lost. Just like reality, it portrays the possibilities of what the human consciousness and how it affects each one of us is immeasurable.

This movie's definitely underestimated, it's more of an artistic picture of progressive consciousness, the costumes are great like a painting, nice visuals with light and color and architectural structures, the soundtrack is very emotional; at least it's worth a watch with open mind.

The trailer was really cool, made this seem like a sci-fi action movie with a really intriguing concept. The concept was intriguing but it was not sci-fi or action. The trailer was very misleading. It was mostly boring as dirt, and was very random. Movie was all over the place, plot was barely there, this SEEMED to have an anti-technology "science has gone too far!" theme but it was impossible to tell. Random bits were thrown all over, bad acting. This movie just sucked.
Don't let the one positive review fool you, if you want a philosophy lecture or discussion of the brain and consciousness or whatever, watch a lecture, not this bad movie. A lecture would be far more interesting. I love a cerebral, complex even difficult movie but this wasn't that, just bad.

Its funny, saying this movie is a waste of time in a way is a spoiler. the movie seemingly wants you to leave with that conclusion.
Its one of those experiences where at the credits end, you look around wonder what went wrong.
You look around the empty theater that has continued to be empty from the moment you arrived and realized you were the only one in a 45 mile radius to fall for this. You look on the screen after credits, and see some 'intense dude' with his 'futurey' cover of "grapevine" on repeat for 15 minutes.
You think back to the entire process that lead you there: when you first heard about the hype, the possibilities, the purchase of the twenty dollar tickets, and the thrill of driving 45 minutes to Greenville to see the film.
And you find yourself feeling goop-ed out of your time and energy. YouTube does what this movie does on the reg.

Sometimes when I start watching a movie like this that's not working for me at any level I wonder whether I'm being too harsh and critical in my assessment of it. However, I can see by the reviewers that have preceded me on this site that I am not alone.
This film was just a convoluted mess of a movie, with an absolutely nonsensical script accompanied by very wooden acting. Why the fine actor Sam Neill is in this abomination is beyond me. Of course, presenting this turkey apparently wasn't enough for the filmmakers, they had to throw in some clips of animals seemingly being abused during experiments just for good measure.
I know redbox isn't going to give me back my $1.59, but maybe I can help others to not spend their money on this dud.

The biggest mistake was to give into the marketing hype of collective cognition bands on the day of the world premier that would be given to the audience and results would be shown live after the movie to see the brain mapping (which didn't happen).
The movie has nothing to do with the experiment, the story, the plot-line is bizarrely vague and made no sense.
Everything was a rip off, marketing gimmick to sell this movie which even Sam O Neil couldn't have carried on his shoulders, the producers knew that this movie would be a huge huge disaster and the only way to make money would be create an unrealistic hype to justify selling the tickets 20 bucks a pop.
The story is meaningless, acting was worse than B grade movies, the graphics were cheap, there is absolutely nothing praise worthy about this film.
