I was an on-and-off fan of Maria Bamford; she scared me and made me laugh, that was the intrigue. And I love surreal humor...so for the most part, I liked her. This special, however, was too much. She does a lot of rambling, a lot of voices, a lot of faces/noises...and being a big kid, I like faces/noises, but in this one it just seems like a load of everything dumped on the floor all at once. Maybe it's also Netflix's hour limit, she felt like she had to get it all in, but excuses aside, I really felt like turning it off. I stuck it out though, and the ending wasn't too thrilling either. If you're on-the-fence about Maria, don't watch this because you'll probably end up not liking her, which would be a shame; she is pretty funny, but just not in this special.

For about the first 10 minutes I was transfixed in silence and confusion, not sure what I was wittnessing and frankly not that into it but unable to look away. Then it hit me, I connected to her wavelength, and that was the funniest sh!t ever. I watched the whole special twice, back to back. Seriously. By the way, it was the "cherry picker" joke followed by the shot of the dogs that got me. I couldn't stop laughing after that. Genius.

This comedy special is rapid fire, bizarre, so relatable, entertaining, refreshing and wonderfully weird. Maria Bamford has an amazing gift for smart quirky comedy and impressions She can whip from one topic to another with amazing speed and intelligence. It doesn't let up for even a second and it is a wildly entertaining ride! Maria Bamford speaks right to my soul. Go watch it right now!

Literally just not funny. She never made a joke the entire special. She'll just stands on the stage and says weird stuff the entire time. Very low quality "entertainment". Would not recommend.

I'm probably a psycho, weirdo, loner or whatever but I enjoyed this. Maria Bamford's comedy focuses on mental health issues so it's probably an acquired taste anyway and I don't think the humour could work unless you can associate with the 'stream of thought' she's in. The show goes from her performing her routine alone in the mirror to a full theater audience (well partially), which made me feel like I shared a personal journey, well sort of, not sure if that was the intention - or if it matters really. I'm also a fan of 'Lady Dynamite' too so that may influence my opinion. Ten years ago Christopher Hitchins famously said women 'aren't funny' but don't think he'd seen Maria Bamford perform.

This is as funny as an autopsy… as graphic and as funny as I would imagine a public beheading to be.This special made me want to spend the entire day outside. She represents everything that America has to flush down the toilet in the morning. This is not humor, its more like sacrificing your brain.

Old Baby is an interesting way to watch a stand-up routine. There are moments when her bits don't land with me....or the audience, however, it's surprisingly fun to watch her relish those awkward moments. I had a smile on my face throughout most of this special and there were multiple times where I was laughing, pretty uncontrollably. It's not for everyone however, it is for me.

She could have been forgiven for her politics if only she was creative and funny. Ben Elton is a good example of this. He's fanatically left- wing AND he makes me laugh. Also - he doesn't hector and insult everyone who disagrees with him. This 'special' has been presented by someone who has been told that she's funny so many times that she's fallen for it. It's like the chubby girl who has been told by her parents that the peach dress she's wearing looks great - and then when she wears it outside, still stubbornly believes that it looks great because her mum and dad are right and the rest of the world must be blind or something!
