Aamir Khan as we all know is a tremendously popular bollywood star. And this movie when released was leveraging heavily his popularity and stardom. As a kid I myself was drawn to Aamir's popularity as a weighing factor to watch the movie. However; I recently got an opportunity to revisit this movie. And Manisha's performance in the movie just exceeds every measure. Especially the emotional, sad moments were entirely shouldered by Manisha's performance. Last 20 minutes of movie were peak performance for both lead actors in the entire movie. However; last 20 mins of Manisha's performance would knock your socks off.

Strange how the same story is received vastly different over time. In 1957 when "Affair to Remember" was released it was considered amongst the most romantic films of all time. Mann's story was made from that movie. Reading other reviews, people don't seem to be too impressed with the movie. My advise to future viewers, "Mann se dekho" to fully appreciate this movie. Songs are beautiful, dialogues heart rendering. Aamir Khan played his part to the hilt as no other actor could. Manisha Koirala was very pretty and she made you feel her pain. Anil Kapoor and Neeraj Vora were integral part of the story and they did justice to their respective roles. This is a movie to watch and remember as very few movies are made for the ages.

Mann has many of the necessary ingrediants orsuccessful combination of what needed for a hit film, with the bollywood industry largely themed at love and romance its the very few movies that become hits amongst a stacked competition year after year.. Manisha and Aamir are easily amongst the top ten actors of bollywood has ever seen and always enhance every movie they star in, unlike some actors who may be very good but have some major flaws. The film story is reasonably interesting, hit songs and good actors, well written script, good direction and shot well. *Note to IMBD (Title Error) Mann does not translate to Mind. Mann is dificult to translate but relates to heart and soul or feelings from the heart or soul. It has nothing to do with the mind. For example in Hindi the translation for the word soul is Ant Mann or Aatma. A more accurate translation for the word Mann is "Heart of the Soul" or "Passion of the Soul" or "Feeling of the Heart" or "Passion of the Heart" ETC.

My FAVORITE Bollywood film of all time. No matter how many times you watch this movie it'll always hit you hard.. just perfection

Aamir Khan and Manisha have made two remakes of English movies. Akele Hum Akele Tum (1995) = Kramer Vs Kramer (1979) ; Mann (1999) = Love Affair (1994) and 'An Affair to Remember (1957). Last scene is very touchy and ditto copy of Love Affair in Mann. The theme is same in both movies where they promise to meet near a tower after six months to express their love. The girl gets into accident and loses her legs in both movies and tries to avoid meeting her lover. Aamir and Manisha have done a very good job of emotional acting in both movies. However, Mann has some songs which are needed in all Hindi Movies. The last scene is worth seeing again and again where the lover finds out about her losing the legs.

A ship journey, a love story, a tragedy, finally a typical Bollywood one with too many coincidences. An adaption of the movie 'An Affair to Remember 1957'. Full of good songs. A movie, in which all songs are very good. A womanizer playboy encounters a woman on a ship journey. They both fall in love with each other with their caring behaviors. Whereas the woman was already engaged. Thus when the journey ends, they make a commitment to each other to meet in a place after 6 months. This is how they split. But fate has its own choice. Fate decides they will meet or not, or any tragedy or happy ending. Manisha and Aamir Khan did very well. Anil Kapoor did very well but wasted. The direction, the script are not much promising, thus it gets lower ratings. Otherwise recommended only for the music. Udit Narayan at his best.

Mann movie is one of my favorite movies. Mann's story based on love. its story is heart touching story. specially its songs is very beautiful. Aamir khan acting is very good. in this story Amir khan playing a corrector who love every girl for time pass. after that a girl coming in his life Manisha. She meet him in a ship. Amir khan try to flirt her. in the end of ship tour he loves Manisha truly. After that they promise to each other that they will meet after six months.After six months boy come to meet place but girl not come. the boy hurt very much. after that he become a famous painter. in the end of story he meet her. he open up that girl lost her legs in a accident after Listen her story he marriage to that girl because he loves her very much. its song and story is very good.

Ithink so aamir Khan was just brilliant in this movie I just loved him Even Manisha was looking gorgeous. In whole worth a watch. Songs were Brillaint and Last Scene of the Movie was the best for Long time in Any Hindi Movie. Cheers for Aamir Khan for this lovely movie
