Great idea, I really liked it at first, full of mystery and an occult. But then it got a little bit... Let's say, confusing. Some parts didn't make sense, they did not bother to explain it or to "develop" a story a little bit. The ending was somehow disappointing. Too bad, since I like these types of movies, and like I sad, it had such a potential. Still it is not a total waste of time, actors are good, there is an eerie atmosphere throughout the movie, etc. It is not bad, just not very good :) if that makes sense :)

So this movie got posted like an hour ago, so i figured id be the first to let you know if it is worth . Simple answer: sure, it wasn't horrible Pros: the vibe it gives me is something a poor-man's Ari Aster would provide it reminds me of "split", so if you like that then i guess its a pro? Acting is great! Cons: The plot was super scrambled (yes I'm also keeping in mind that I'm absolutely baked) but really, it doesn't seem to really even tell you what appears to be going on till about 3/4 way through the movie. Just like "split" it is kind of a "slow burn" and by that i mean nothing happens except in the last 20 mins some parts kind of give me a cringe because some of the scripted lines sound as if Siri herself wrote them the entire ending With all that said, it really wasn't BAD. It was mediocre at best, a solid 5/10. If you are here expecting something to terrify you, you have come to the wrong movie as this is simply a thriller.

The movie is basically a boy gets possessed as a kid by his mother and her coven's Satanic ritual. For some reason - which is never explained - when the boy grows up, as an army sergeant(?) he keeps the demon at bay through self-flagellation. There's a scene where he is accused of inappropriate behavior against one of his female cadets which is never explained or explored. The entire movie is overacted, boring, poor storytelling. Watch it only if you have literally nothing else to do.

This movie starts off intense and maintains this intensity pretty thoroughly throughout the movie. I considered it to be a decent possession movie with occult undertones. I don't think the specifics of the specific sect of the occult portrays it accurately, but hey, it's just a movie. Also, it's not your stereotypical possession movie with the cliches of most movies pertaining to possessions. Honestly I enjoy it more than most of the possession movies I regularly see because it's not the same old cliches that tend to follow every other possession movie.
