Metaphysical horror film from Spanish cinema. The film takes us back to the 1970s in Madrid, where a family leaves rural life and moves to the capital. Except they don't know that the house they moved into is haunted by the previous owner. What does the spirit desire? What's the story in this house? A pretty good movie from good Spanish cinema, though with not so much original script anymore. Good performances and enough suspense, a good overall suggestion for the genre, worth a watch.

A decent film, beautifully filmed, with good performances all over the casting, and very well produced, but falls flat and unoriginal story wise.

Yeah, I don't get the bad reviews about this one. It's not the most original thing in the world - even if there are original elements, like the ghost reveal or the entire third act - but it delivers. I know that this is nothing like the new wave of horror films - usually they prefer long static shots (here you have long shots, but using the suspense with a goal), nothing happening for a long time, over the top weird people (man, there are people thinking The Lighthouse is scary and an horror movie) - but this how a lot of people fell in love with horror movies.
Tense, full of jump scares (oh forgot this is not cool anymore), good soundtrack, interesting use of camara, with a good social commentary (about family or...families, in fact) and a really great final act.

Very beautiful set design & realisation, atmospheric lighting, excellent cinematography, not over done period touches & excellent performers, it's a pretty good story too. It's possibly 10-15 mixites too long, but the story keeps you guessing, on the edge of your seat & makes more sense than a lot of other attempts these days.. With some genuinely creepy moments & a plot that I've not seen before, which is tough in the haunted house genre, my only confusion is why it doesn't have a better score as of Oct '20, it's at least a 7. 100% worth a watch for anyone who wants a creepy time & some unexpected twists.

I stumbled upon "Malasaña 32" by random luck. And while I didn't know anything about the movie, I must admit that I was interested because of the movie's cover/poster. And of course, with it being a horror movie, I ended up sitting down to watch director Albert Pintó's 2020 movie.
And it turns out that "Malasaña 32" was actually an adequately entertaining horror movie. Sure, for the majority of the movie, writers Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, David Orea and Salvador S. Molina were playing it safe and following the 'how-to-make-a-horror-movie' textbook, but every now and again there were some interesting deviations which kept the movie interesting and fresh.
Storywise, then "Malasaña 32" was fairly straight forward, a bit predictable actually at times. But maybe that is because I have seen way too many horror movies in my life. But it was entertaining, nonetheless.
What I liked about "Malasaña 32" was the visuals. There was a very gloomy atmosphere to the movie, and the apartment scenes were quite intense. That alone was well-worth sitting down to watch the movie. And the scene with the floating medium host, well that was simply great, and one of the best parts of the movie.
"Malasaña 32" has some nice acting performances, by an entirely unknown cast to me. And that was something I appreciated and enjoyed.
This movie is an adequate horror movie, although it doesn't really bring much of anything new to the horror genre. If you are new to horror movies, then "Malasaña 32" is a good starting point.
My rating of "Malasaña 32" is a six out of ten stars.

Very, very generic movie. Acting is ok, supernatural scenes are horribly made. The first half of the movie is only "jump scares', nothing really happens. You will forget the movie as soon as it ends

I was just trying to find another acceptable horror movie to watch on shudder, when I found this title. I came to IMDB and I saw that the reviews were just meh. I decided to give it a try. Best decision ever!!! I dont get scared easily with horror movies, but this one got me holding the chair for the amount of stress that the producer was able to keep through all the movie. Love it!!

I don't think there was anything wrong with this film. You will have to watch it until the end to understand the beginning. There were a few great scare jumps, but I hardly felt there was enough that people would actually complain about. And if you are going to watch a Horror movie - it's kind of for the scare jumps as well as everything else right?
It was in the style of a great classic horror film using lighting incredibly well. There were a couple of things that really threw me off as to possible outcomes, and glad the assumptions were incorrect, however, the origin of the haunting is tragic and a horrible sad story.
The storyline was really well written with a thorough thought, excellent set up especially being set in the 70's when basic rights were starting to be returned to the people after The Spanish Civil War. There was a sense of hope and freedom, which makes the backdrop even more powerful. There is a lot of character development that continues right to the end, and certainly not as expected.
There is probably even more to the visual narrative than I noticed. The record player was one of the key points upon it's introduction. Very clever. It gives even more premise to the ghost story narrative as it would have been during the beginning of the dictatorship.
Great acting, filming, music and creepy ghost action without being too over done! Bravo!! It's great to write a positive review of a film or anything in 2020!

Spanish horror movies have great quality. And this one is no exception. But like the japoneses horror movies sometime ago, nowadays they produce good quality horror movies but very similar. We see one excelent, two ok still excelent, then the next ok it's good but already seen this.
Even so i still recommend it.
