One of the best comedies of all time, hands down. It's lighthearted and quite enjoyable to watch. There are some deeper scenes (like the PTSD little engine that could), but are overlapped by the right does of comedy. The acting from the major is on spot, and the kids are all right as well. A family comedy that will definitely stand the test of time. Definitely something to come back to from time to time, especially since there are plenty of free streams online. Well, I need at least 600 characters, so I guess I'll just keep you reading, I am sorry about that. I truly am. Don't know why we have to pretend we are writing an essay on the fall of the Berlin wall, but it is what it is. 600 characters it is.

Love this movie but it's a Heartbreak Ridge copy. That's OK though because it done well with more added comedy, much more. Anyways, enjoy this Damon Wayans flick, it's one of his best IMO.

I didn't read every review, but none I saw seemed to know that this movie is a remake of the Private War of Major Benson, a Charlton Heston film from 1955.

I view probably 200 movies a year both at theaters and at home and I can say with confidence that this movie is by far the worst I have seen this year (If not ever, however I have not actually seen "Quest of the Delta Knights" yet). This movie is just bad joke after bad joke geared to the 13 year old and because I had he displeasure of viewing it on a bus trip I couldn't walk out. Do yourself a favor and skip this one in the rental aisle. The four dollars could be better spent on any movie by numbers produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

It is incorrectly stated that as a Marine Major Payne wouldn't wear dress whites but in fact until 2000 US Marine officers wore a dress white uniform that was exactly like the US Navy counter part.

This is one of my favorite Wayans movies. I imagine he got to adlib a ton, not only being a comedian but playing a DI allowed him to just go off! I can almost quote this movie line for line, I've watched it so many times. Just a classic.

I though the movie was funny and I thoroughly enjoyed it. However, the story is almost exactly the same as the 1955 classic "The Private War of Major Benson", starring Charlton Heston and Julie Adams. If you're a person who thought the story was endearing but could have been a better movie, check the classic out at your favorite rental place.

Sort of family parody blending "An Officer And A Gentleman", "Heartbreak Ridge", "Full Metal Jacket" (and without doubt other movies I am not able to remember now) into a rather dull movie, with some bright spots. The gags are always there where you would expect them, and Damon Wayans's lines are, well, predictable. As I said, unfortunately this movie never surprises you...
