My buddies all love it. Quaid kills the heckler role he's unbelievable. This movie has a ton of quotables. Parkman is just tremendous and there's so many things you see and you're like "that would never happen in an actual game" and that's the point it's supposed to be absurd sometimes.

Beyond unbelievable, a sad excuse for a movie. NOTHING remotely funny in this "comedy". It is uninspired, humorless, horrible - a complete waste of time. Writing is poor, directing is abysmal - actors driven into sad performances. Don't-wast-your-time on this one.

Well, it's got some amusing parts. However, much of the movie is painfully reusing story points and gags from the first movie. Some interesting characters from the first movie are either missing (Russo, Snipes) or mailing it in (Bernsen, Whitton). Story lines involving the changes to major characters seem forced and generally don't work well. Add to that a general lack of character empathy, and you have a movie which shouldn't be enjoyable. That said, it's watchable, with the same general flavor as the original, but be prepared to roll your eyes occasionally (okay, more than occasionally) at the soulless, generally lazy rework this movie is.

Have you ever seen a movie that you know you will never get tired of every time you see it? Well, to me, this is one of them.. You got an All-Star cast of not only the BEST actor in any baseball movie ever created, yes, Tom Beringer.. Also included in this cast is Charlie Sheen and David Keith.. The storyline may have needed some work, but the movie is a classic.. 100 times better than the first.. If you're wondering which baseball comedy to rent, not that there is many out there, or just a comedy, make it this one!

First, the cast was pretty bad. Epps was terrible. Japanese guy was atrocious. Come on, a catcher that can't throw back to the pitcher. Von losing speed in his pitching because he became a yuppie. Epps not touching home plate and baiting the catcher to tag him. This is the majors. MLB. Coach would have benched him in a minute. It's a baseball movie so I do watch it when it's on but could of been better than the first if they waited and wrote a good script instead of just trying for the sequel money.

this was one of the worst sequels i have ever seen...extremely unoriginal with lame sub-plots...the first one was somewhat humorous, and this one leached onto it's elders success...don't rent it, it's not worth the $3

This movie was not bad, but it wasn't as good as the other two. I saw this one first before the other two and it was good at first. Then I saw the other two and now I'm getting tired of this one. It's still good because of Charlie Sheen and David Keith's roles in the movie, but there's not enough baseball action. The movie points more to Vaughn's trying to get a girlfriend and other life outside baseball, that it doesn't even seem like a baseball movie. Omar Epps wasn't bad, but he didn't have the stuff that Wesley Snipes had as Willie Mays Hayes in the first one. This movie was a major letdown considering the fact that it didn't follow the first one. On a scale from 1-10 I'd give this movie a 5.

Naturally I agree with the overall comments: it's an average film. Period. But I hasten to add that the people who worked on this film did do a better job -- a far better job than they are given credit for with regard to being AUTHENTIC to the MLB 'scene.' If it 'failed' it was NOT because of David Ward but because ONE of his main assistants did NOT know baseball... and that fact was NOT discovered until they were too deep into production.
I'm partial -- after all, I played an umpire in this film! It's my ONLY claim to film-dom...so if anyone else who appeared ever reads this... CONTACT ME!
