A very cool mix of science fiction and thriller. Combines classic elements of the genres and asks questions about where technology is taking our humanity. There are hints of pieces you have seen before but puts all the pieces together in an original, entertaining, think-piece. I am looking forward to the next film from Writer, Director, Royce Gorsuch.

I love this movie. Royce Gorsuch has a visual style that keeps you fired up and deeply engaged. I love how this film is meanginful without being pedantic, fast and contemporary without feeling glib and, when it comes down to it... just a great story.
It's rare that you see a movie that effectively balances existential questions that can only be asked in today's digital world with a fast-paced, engaging storyline. These characters, from the baddies to the heroes are so much fun.
I'm gushing because I really want you all to experience this wild ride. And I can't wait for Gorsuch's next film. Huge thumbs up.

Gripping, mind-bending, a fun, exciting ride in the cutting edge of the zeitgeist.Royce Gorsuch, the writer/director of the film has made a mvie that is indie filmmaking at its best, both visionary and current at the sam time. One surprise after the next and the actors draw you them and into their world, emotionally and physically with real chemistry between Spencer Locke (Sawyer) and Chris Mason, the eponymous, Mad Genius. The film lives in the present and the future which may already be upon us. Mr. Gorsuch has made both an ode to and a warning about that future: a science fiction thriller with heart.

"Mad Genius" presents a sci-fi society in which the human mind can be broken into and programmed per the agenda of the hacker. Real life husband and wife Chris Mason and Spencer Locke are Mason and Sawyer, a tortured genius and his mysterious muse, whose redemptive message seems to be a Beatlesque "All You Need Is Love". Scott Mechlowicz as Mason's alter ego, Finn, engages the misguided millennial in nonstop snappy repartee that is hilarious one moment, chilling the next.
This world as written and directed by Royce Gorsuch is a sullen and scary one. And while what Gorsuch explores and proposes may be implausible, is his vision eternally impossible?
Most of us will likely answer "No."
And that is truly frightening.

Did not know what to expect and was taken on a fun, scary thrill ride.
Surprised me at every turn. The director and writer, Royce Gorsuch has an apocalyptic vision of the future that might be right around the corner. - Chris Mason (the Mad Genius), Spencer Locke (Sawyer) have sexy on-screen chemistry. Scott Mechlowitz (Finn) is the coolest doppelganger since Fight Club. Faran Tahir (Eden), is classic evil incarnate. A Millennial movie feast.

This movie falls into my personal fav category of movies... the ones that you walk out of and can't stop thinking about. There are so many intricacies that play over and over in your mind until you can no longer deny the need to watch it again. It's a movie that has the power to snap us all out of complacency if we are willing to open our minds... but if that's not your cup of tea, it's interwoven with trippy visuals, amazing cinematography and great acting that will keep you pulled in. Finn is my fav!!

I loved this film. Small budget or not, it was refreshing to see something so unique. When have we ever seen something set in the seedy underground tech world of downtown LA?!?! I love the look of the film and the ambitious high concept. So great to see Scott Mechlowicz in something again. He's always so brilliant. Faran Tahir has never been more terrifying. I've loved Spencer Locke since "Monster House". And newcomer Chris Mason is a leading man with edge. And those piercing blue eyes!!! Bravo to everyone involved for making a movie so different from everything else out there. I highly recommend this film.

I expected more but get less, plot is bad, they did not get into what saving means, acting wasn't bad but most scenes are boring. its a low budget film anyway.
