I saw LORELEI at the prestigious Tribeca Film Festival in NYC and loved it! It's an inspiring story of regret and redemption as a conflicted ex-convict returns to his long lost love and her children.
The writer/director expertly demonstrates especially stylish visuals that have poetic, layered meaning & subtext. The acting performances are soulful and moving. This ain't no TRANSFORMERS film, Thank God!
> SPOILERS: Wayland exits prison and is embraced by his high school sweetheart, Dolores. She takes him in to her rambunctious and endearing family. He struggles to endure this foreign, dangerous, difficult life on the outside.
Yet she quickly abandons all of them to selfishly pursue her own dreams (for the first time in her life). He's forced to step up and try to be the responsible father the kids need and he never experienced.
This film is a beautiful ode to family and love in whatever form life gives us.

This film is moving, genuine, and powerful--independent filmmaking at its best! The script is realistic and meaningful, the characters are well-developed, and the performances are outstanding, particularly those of Jena Malone and Pablo Schreiber. I'm a longtime fan of Malone, who is an outstanding actress and always has been. I had not seen Schreiber in anything before this, and, just, wow--this guy's got screen presence and talent! An added bonus are the remarkable performances of two teenage newcomers--Chancellor Perry and Amelia Borgerding. I can see these two becoming big stars. Sabrina Doyle's direction is subtle and beautiful, and the cinematography demonstrates both those characteristics. To my mind, this is a must-see--a reminder of how movies can still speak to us, deeply, but with a soft voice.

Saw this film a the Miami Film Festival. I loved it!
Beautiful story....hard and hopeful. And the cast is amazing. The three kids are SO GOOD. And Pablo Schreiber and Jenna Malone anchor the film.
Beautifully filmed. Looking forward to seeing it on a big screen!

This film portrays a slice of life that I never intersect. The other America. Starts slowly but builds as Pablo becomes mor involved with the children. The ending caught me by surprise but makes perfect sense. Worth a visit to the theater.

We really loved this movie. It is a very touching story, told in a low-key but quietly compelling style. Pablo Schreiber and Jena Malone give great performances, the three kids are fantastic. It is about love and redemption and risk and growth. All the feels and also visually beautiful. Would love to see it on the big screen!

Lorelei is by far the Best Film I've seen so far of 2021. Writer/Director Sabrina Doyle did an amazing job Telling this incredible story, what first appears as simple turns out to be many deep layers within the characters of the story and a Single mother played by Jena Malone who gives an amazing performance as Dolores, she has so many great aspirations inside of her, that her day to day life becomes more frustrating because she's not living out her dreams, when she makes the decision that is best for her it is truly nothing short of inspirational, as she turns fantasy to reality, as she chases her dream to live HER truth, which is her escape to FREEDOM, and also trusting her instinct that everything will fall in line by her decision. I LOVE THIS FILM. So inspirational 10/10.

I watched the movie to the very end without understanding what story it's telling or who am I supposed to be following, characters walked by the movie like the actors had no script.
