The aim of the movie is to clearly emphasize the problem of influencer like shallow youth and greedy dysfunctional families meeting violence and manipulation towards women. There is no actual plot not a real meaning reachead at any point of the movie that seems extremely long even if it actually isn't. I would have loved to care even a little for the protagonist but he's probably the most annoying jock ever portayed on screen. The whole abortion trauma swept under a rug and then brought up as a tearjerker is simply offensive. There's simply too much and too sparse to be coherent and connected in a narrative sense.

This is a sad story that will only bring you down. Eddie Reynolds (Charlie Goddard) and Lauren Kelly (Lily Blunsom-Washbrook) are a young couple in love. Eddie is handsome and works out as Luren fends off rivals. A reality singles dating program called "Love on the Rocks" has selected Eddie to be on the show. His family is excited because of the potential for fame and fortune. He must put his relationship on hold to the dismay of his girlfriend who goes on to discover she is pregnant. To Eddie, it is all about Eddie and he asks Lauren to terminate the pregnancy of a child she wants. They break up, but they don't break up it was all a bit confusing of their near relationship. Lauren terminates the pregnancy. Eddie gets booted off the program after one day because of a drug conviction. Eddie wants to get back together, Lauren hesitates. Eddie becomes depressed and suicidal and keeps saying "look to the light." The film was a train wreck going nowhere, getting worse as it goes on as Eddie is his own worst enemy. Hard to watch. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Only watched it as I couldn't stop. For some reason (must have been bad in a previous life) I had to watch til the end. Secondary school/Am Dram acting, with no character depth. To think the writer/director actually believes anyone watching would be in anyway surprised when the painfully drawn out plot twist is revealed is hilarious. The biggest shock of all is how many crew members and the directors family have written reviews giving 9/10, believing readers will actually believe they're legit. Give your teenage kids an iPhone and they will make a better film; hell they probably already have..

Very thought provoking film. Story line portrays very current topic. With the idea of being famous high on our current generation of teens agenda. The film is a stark warning at the price of fame and how young people are not always equipped with the tools to deal with it emotionally. Lilly Brunson was very convincing in her performance of a young person in a relationship, when fame is offered to her boyfriend she pays the price. Charlie Goddard, was also very convincing in his role. Both are worthy of their roles and portray the films plot very well indeed. A very well made independent film.

I just could not stop watching because in got intrigued by how the creators of this movie attempted again and again, in almost literally every scene, to invoke a sense of tension, drama and finger-pointing life-lessons by just piling up cliché characters with a shallow storyline, over-acting characters and - what I thought was most annoying of all - continuous dramatic music. Even if there is not tension whatsoever in a scene, the music will built up, increase in tension to reach avclimax while the script/scene does not deliver any drama or tension. It's literally exhausting because the brain gets mixed signals all the time. By the second part of the movie, you will just start ignoring the music alltogether because it's so out-of-sync that it's not credible anymore. A bit like a child who always makes jokes about being hurt, and then when actually gets hurt nobody reactis anymore. I always do try to watch these kinds of movies till the end because it usually makes me appreciate the next movie I watch so much more LOL.

Look to the Light covers topics very current in today's society. Some of which are not discussed enough and for that I praise the team for bringing these issues to light. The cast are incredible and I'd like to make a noteworthy mention to Wes (Cole Dilley) whose character I couldn't help but love. Many moments are raw and we see true representations of conflict. Thankfully it's not all dark and gloom, there are perfectly timed comedic elements which bring a buoyancy to the film. For me personally, the message behind the movie is the biggest take away and its selling point. Im sure after watching you would also agree. The revelation of this beautiful message is done in a way that answered many of my questions yet left me with many others.

This is a film with a powerful message, impactful storytelling and stunning cinematography. The original score heightens the emotional journey of the audience. Look to the Light captures the zeitgeist of contemporary culture, highlighting some of its dangers. I heard a comment from a grandfather after the screening I attended that this film had given them insight to the challenges faced by young people today - it had helped them understand. More than one person in the audience was visibly affected by the film. There is an unexpected twist, accentuated by brilliant acting. The team behind this film is one to watch. Recommended viewing with an appropriate trigger warning.

How can a relationship based on real flesh-and-blood affection stand in the sweeping emotions of social media and fame? When questioned, will it hold true? 'Look to the light' shines a light into the hardships and challenges of modern ultra-connected social life, by slowly peeling back the layers showing how events can affect a person's life, mind and future. Stunning performances combine with brilliant cinematography, crisp and seamless editing, and a soundtrack that strikes to the heart of each moment. A must watch for those who care for the future of society, alerting us to the well-being of others.

Boy, did i laugh at the review here about waiting for an underarm deodorant add. My goodness, for someone to be paid professionally for writing this drivel is beyond me. It was so clunky, the characters (caricatures) were unsympathetic and the ending was so telegraphed that the big reveal was so beyond obvious probably before it even happened. The main redeeming factor is some of the cast were good-looking; which is shallow of me to say but to be honest if you make it to the end of this drivel you're either 1: as shallow as a small pool of water on a relatively rainy day, 2: really drunk or (and this is most likely given the positive score/reviews here) 3: a member of the production or 'acting' team on the show. Would it be possible to get the 1.5 hours back that I lost on this? Somehow; anyhow.

This film takes you on a journey, the cinematography, writing, music and acting all come together to create what is a memorable and thought provoking film. I feel the subject matter is not one that is touched on enough in movies, it looks at what goes on in the mind of someone who wants fast track fame through reality tv and the effect it has on his relationships. It's intriguing and interesting to see the reality behind reality tv. The character development (which I know is a bit of a film buzz word) Is truly there. The characters really go on a journey and you are there gripped with them the entire time. Some might think they see where this film is going but at the last minute I do believe it surprises you. This film is not predictable like most movies. It is an independent movie that competes way above its weight class. Most certainly worth a watch.
