This's a cute story and all but everytime I watch a movie with Kimberley Sustad, I know I will not enjoy it because I'll be distracted by her gloomy face. I have yet to see one scene where her face shows joy. She is always frowning, surprised, or,serious. To me, her face is insatiable. If you want a better rating, next time, choose an actress that can express joy..The other actors expressed their feeling correctly. The actress who plays Kimberly Sustad's mom is the opposite. Her botoxed face is all smiling, all the time. ?The couple who play the couple who used to me married play their parts perfectly. The.

I am picky about my comedies. I laughed at this one. It wasn't overly silly, but had some silly moments. The story is about a big time movie in a small town where a local gets pulled in. In this case, the production company's costumer never showed and they couldn't find a replacement, so they hired a local designer, Kerry. Kimberley Sustad is perfect for this part. She is a good fit for this style of comedy. Her timing and demeanor work here. She also has decent chemistry with John Brotherton, who plays the overbearing, self-absorbed star of the show, Brad. The best gags are early, as Kerry is trying to fit into a world she knows nothing about. I think the writers stretched her fitting in a little too well as more than once she saves the day in ways unrelated to costuming. After the novelty of her assimilation winds down, the tenor of the film switches to the developing romance. There is also a secondary romance which also has funny and sweet moments. The conflict, climax and ending were a surprise to me, but also a little convoluted. This is probably one I will watch again.

7.5 stars. Kerry (Sustad) and Brad (Brotherton) are an odd couple of sorts, but they really light up the screen. Brad is creepy and weird, but strangely charming as an "A" list superstar actor, and Kerry is a sweetheart clothing designer and store owner. Both are highly talented in their respective fields. His primary acting roles have been in Christmas movies (homage to Hallmark?). She has untapped talent in designing and selling really stylish clothing, but never got her dream shot. This story is about their adventure in making this film, falling in love, and the various pitfalls, and challenges that arise as a result. One of the most important factors is the supporting cast. Her mother, who helps her run the store, is a total scene stealer (as if this movie needs one). The film producer/director/writer husband and wife combination are also quite fun to watch. Kerry happens to be in the right place at the right time while Brad is filming his latest film in her hometown. Their meeting is fortuitous. It so happens the film's costume designer has left (on maternity leave I think) and they are in a bind, and Kerry is able to fill the spot temporarily. In turn this bolsters her career many-fold, now she can bring her true dream to fruition - to work for a competitive NYC clothing designer. He inadvertently starts to fall for her, and she is only partially aware of the possibilities of romance with this seemingly unobtainable move star. It seems realistic considering she is just a normal girl with a regular career, and he being a red carpet familiar celebrity. They don't hit it off at first, it takes a while for her to chip away at his "superstar" facade but eventually his real charm surfaces and they seem to fall in love, but it's a very slow process for them because they both have deep rooted insecurities and lack of confidence - as any normal person would. There are many cast members that contribute a lot of depth to this story. Her mother is endearing and very hip, the co-stars are all very engaging, the movie director/producer husband and wife duo were hilarious to watch as they sort out their own marital differences, using one of the assistants on the set as a go between relaying the message for them while they are literally standing right next to each other. Very funny, and although it's been done, it was humorous nonetheless.

Do not be put off by the egotistical behavior displayed by the lead actor at the start of the movie -- that could be enough to turn off some people and make them not want to watch this delightful movie. In part this movie is a spoof of actors with big egos, and it pulls off that caricature very well! But it also reveals that beneath such facades can be very different people, with real feelings and emotions resulting from their character's backstory, and the movie pulls off that aspect very well, too. All in all, an engaging story. This movie has all of the elements necessary to make it one of the best of 2022: good acting, humor, plausible plot twists that I did not see coming, a romance that develops naturally, and a satisfying ending that pulls everything together and leaves you feeling good. This is one is of my Top 10 favorite 2022 Christmas movies of 2022. A Christmas movie is filmed in Kerry's hometown with the famous "King of Christmas Movies" actor. Serendipitously, Kerry's entire shop's apparel becomes to the costumes for the movie and she is then hired to work as the costume designer! Kerry excels on the movie set and the movie's big star is captivated by her, encouraging her to pursue her dreams and making her his new dream. Plot of the Movie: My Favorite Santa is about a baker who has lost her belief in Christmas and a guy who claims to be Santa. MeetCute: Brad gets an important call from his agent, but his phone dies. He spots Kerry walking near him and grabs her phone to call his agent back. He haughtily gives the phone back to her, tells her she has missed calls and texts, as she stands aghast at him taking her phone. Brad and the leading lady later wander into her local shop and he is upset that she does not recognize him at all. Mid-Movie Kiss: Brad invites Kerry to dinner with a gold enveloped note declaring himself a not-so-secret-admirer in a really cute scene. The date is on set by a beautiful decorated Christmas Tree with a PA dropping snow so that it looks like it is snowing outside their window. Brad asks Kerry to dance with him and the two kiss each other very romantically. Ending Kiss: Kerry is excelling as a costume designer on set of the movie and Brad tells her that she was born for this career. He asks her to be his costumer on set of his new movie shooting in London. Kerry is offered a big fashion job in New York and turns it down to work on set of Brad's next edgy movie. Without telling Kerry, Brad backs out of the movie as he is anxious that this role will ruin his "good-guy" reputation. Kerry is understandably upset by this selfish decision. Kerry goes on to work as a costumer with Caleb & Jill on their 6-movie deal at Dazzle Plus and Brad ends up opt-ing back into the "risky" movie that may tarnish his brand. They both tell each other how the other made them feel brave and bold and they kiss at the after-party for the movie. Brad pulls her outside the Los Angeles Theatre and the two kiss again, after Kerry gives Brad's signature ::Christmas movie wink::! "Who's your favorite Santa now?" -Brad "The real one." -Kerry.

The commercials looked so good. I was so excited when this movie finally premiered but the pacing was odd. I don't know what went wrong but the movie just flowed in an odd way. Maybe because of the interview panel and then flash back to the movie? It was great story and I loved the actors but the "problem" they have was sooooo sudden and then fixed so quickly? It was so out of place and made the movie really weird at the end. 3/4 of the movie was great though and I'll rewatch it. Maybe it gets better with rematches? It is odd that she is the only one making the costumes. Don't they need huge team? Who dresses the rest of the cast? Hope the rest of the Christmas movies are better.

Lights,Camera,Christmas is a 2022 made for tv festive romantic comedy about a young woman named Kerry who lands a gig as a costume designer for a movie that is being filmed in her hometown. Problems arise when meets the leading man Brad Baker who is playing Nick in My Secret Santa and later starts to fall for him. Will they, won't they get together well you have to find out. Overall I liked it. I knew from the get go what was going to happen as like every single romantic comedy follows the same thing over and over again. If you like Hallmark movies then you might like this. Predictable but cute.

Lights, Camera, Christmas! Was a fun Christmas movie to watch. I think the Kimberley Sustad and John Brotherton pairing worked very well. I love the "big star falls for down to earth/girl next door" movie trope. Kim and John had a fun banter and chemistry together. I also liked the movie's supporting characters and the side storyline of the estranged directors finding their way back to each other. The movie's last minute conflict and ending seemed a bit rushed but overall, Lights, Camera, Christmas! Was a fun Christmas movie...and it was nice to see Kimberley Sustad as a Hallmark movie lead again!

This is not the usual Hallmark, by the numbers movie. The first half is played for laughs. The two leads were excellent, playing off each other with perfect comic timing. I think that's what An Unexpected Christmas was going for, but missed. This is easily Kim Sustad's best role ever. She was near perfect. The bickering producer/director couple were amusing if predictable, but the character of Mariah is lovely, and Jamie is cute as a button. I think they've both got bright futures ahead of them. The ending took it up a notch too. There are certain Hallmark Christmas movies you can watch over and over again: The Mistletoe Promise, Write Before Christmas, etc. I think you can probably add this one to that list. Well done.
