Thank you, Casey, for creating a new sleep aide for the general public. Big pharma might be hurting for a while... Sarcasm aside, just poor acting and directing. Script might have worked in better hands.

Missing stuff...leaving questions like what happened to the old guy who ratted them out?? Why not take out the dead bodies and just live in the house?
A little slow moving but good storyline.

The bedtime story in the opening shot was way too long. I had to turn it off and come back to it later and there were several of those moments of dragged out storys throughout the film

This was a real slow burn, but i cant help but be effected by it.
As the father of two girls this really struck home with me.
Both of the leads carry their roles amazingly, and especially Anna Pniowsky, who for such a young actress really steals every scene.
Really hoping for a sequel!!

Casey affleck wrote and directed It. Good original story and extremely well acted. One thing for sure is Casey can act. However the thing that drove me absolutely nuts is you didnt want to use a weapon to protect your own daughter. The world has gone completely crazy with dangerous people trying to get your daughter... And you dont even want to use a weapon to protect her. Freakin unreal... She had the balls to use one to save your life But you are too much of a puss to use one to protect her... Maybe you can use harsh language to beat off those attackers in the sequel... Ug. Good movie except that huge flaw...

The opening scene of this movie says it all: 10 unrelenting minutes of close, virtually unbroken focus on a father telling his kid a 'bedtime' tale that should have put the kid and any movie viewer into a coma within the first three minutes. This film is a shameless, meaningless ripoff of The Road (2009 - starring Viggo Mortensen), a far superior movie, without any of the drama or tension. Premise: a pandemic that has wiped out the world's female population, without any expansion or context provided to even make it a vaguely credible proposition. The film meanders and muddles its way to the end, at which point the viewer hopes to God it really is the end of the world. What a waste of time.

I think this movie could have been improved simply by adding a few more realistic scenarios. If half the population was gone and most females, why would you as a parent trying to protect your daughter who are apparently a coveted commodity...1 have gun or ten, teach your daughter to use it, tell your daughter the truth about how dangerous men, strangers could be and instead of running from other humans, find a more substantial safe haven with food, water, shelter etc. etc....

Seriously we live in the country with the most guns per capita and after a pandemic that kills half of humanity and apparently most women for some reason you are going to venture out with no weapons, not even pepper spray if for some reason you maintained your passificist view of life, EXCEPT men are dangerous. . . . . .
Dude and daughter would not survive long at all. Another good plot gone awry.
Don't waste your time watching thi movie, watch your grass grow instead its more productive.
