This is going to piss some people off badly and make others so happy. It feels like an intentional troll on the audience sometimes which I loved personally. It's making fun of 80s movie tropes and the whole retro nostalgia craze and movie structure at the same time.
I couldn't understand all the slang but I got the jist of it. Highly impressive that it was a group of buddies screwing around and making this as it looks pretty polished compared to so much stuff that looks like it was shot over a weekend. The soundtrack is phenomenal too.
If you love satire movies like the naked gun or scary movie you will absolutely love this as I did.

Lieutenant Jangles is a low budget Australian production attempting to do a Grind house 80's style parody. I understand that this is not supposed to be serious, but the last time I checked, comedies are supposed to be funny. This movie wears out it's welcome very quickly with unlikeable, bafoonish characters and a overdose on crass, low brow humor. This is very over the top, but also very juvenile. It's also very homoerotic, to the point of being homophobic with the man villains being gay and having dufus mullet wig heavy metal guys as their henchmen. The only character I remotely like is Jangle's wheelchair bound partner who actually is a more efficient cop than he is. I was not expecting Lieutenant Jangles to be Oscar worthy material, but this film is straight up stupid. D for dumb, incredibly dumb, oh yeah...it's dumb!

FILM: 6/10.
Alright, let me lay it out straight: Lieutenant Jangles isn't exactly winning any awards for quality filmmaking. Shot on the cheap, deliberately crass, and not exactly reaching for the stars, you might wonder, "Why the heck did I watch this?"
But here's the kicker - it's an unapologetic slice of Ozploitation, and hell, anything goes. For us Aussies, the humour hits the bullseye... if you're willing to let it. I mean, where else can you witness two cops being put in their place with a good ol' punch in the dick, delivering a message of respect for women in the most Aussie way imaginable? It's irreverence on steroids, taking a wrecking ball to boundaries.
Now, let's talk production. With a budget that wouldn't cover a decent barbecue, Lieutenant Jangles flaunts stock visual effects, wildly fluctuating video that looks like it's having an identity crisis. And drone shots with more jagged edges than a Smith's potato chip. The audio? Passable, but not exactly stealing the show.
The cast? They're not aiming for Oscar-worthy, but damn, they look like they're having a bloody brilliant time. Action scenes are cheesier than a slab of cheddar, and the dialogue? You'll either be rolling your eyes or chuckling - possibly both. Warning: you might question your life choices during this cinematic adventure.
This film is like Vegemite - an acquired taste. Not for everyone, and the Aussie humour might get lost in translation internationally. But right here in the land Down Under, Lieutenant Jangles is bound to tickle the fancy of a certain crew of genre film fans. Give it a crack if you're up for a wild, budget-busting ride with a distinctly Aussie flavour. It's destined to o be a guilty pleasure. Besides, if you don't like it, Lieutenant Jangles is going to punch you in the dick.

#2/4: Lieutenant Jangles (2018)
(8/10):Boy is this stupid but it's so awesome, silly and hilariously fun that I didn't even care.
I'm also not going to dive into the plot as it's best you find out for yourself, it's amazing, lol.
An Indie film hailing from Australia,Lieutenant Jangles is a parody of the old cop investigation films as well as a tribute to B-Movies in same way that Machete is,albeit with a much smaller budget but my point is that both are an example of how we are experiencing a reemergence of the old
B-Movies in our modern era of cinema;Once Again a B-Movie/Drive-In Renaissance.
It's a very immature and silly film that requires you take it for what it is, pure comedy and entertainment.
The swearing is abundant and there's two or three instances of a couple of guys pee fighting, yes you read that correctly, but that's how mature this is if you need an example.
The soundtrack is a standout with many collaborating artists, little to none that I've heard of,but they do an excellent job at emulating the B-Movie homage tonality of the film.
It's scored with some synth wave music and even some of the score is reminiscent of classic rock.
The action is over the top and exaggerated. There's explosions, big guns and also on a side note some great costumes and sets that get blown up during the destruction.
I also don't see many,if any people talk about this film, even in when niche B-Movies are mentioned, especially regarding recent films I just never see it talked about. That's a shame because while it's a silly B-Movie, it's clear that a lot of time and effort went into capturing the essence of drive-in cinema and its just a ton of fun.
I highly recommend this one for people who are just looking for an awesome, fun and action packed
B-Movie with lots of love put into it.

Never heard of this one before but a bad review of it showed up on my feed and i had to see what it was all about. My god they couldn't have been more wrong. This movie was hilarious! The satire hits on so many levels and the soundtrack is unbelievable. If you're a fan of 80's b movies or aussie comedy in general I highly recommend giving this one a shot. Get some buddies around and a few beers and enjoy. After watching the special features and seeing the making of documentary i have a whole new appreciation for it and the filmmakers. So much work over so many years. Hype to see what's next from this crew!

Lieutenant Jangles offers moviegoers a lewd take on 80's trash movies, which have had somewhat of a revival in recent times. Although the film's basic premise seems promising, it somehow fails to be clear on where its pastiche lies, whether its lampooning buddy cop films or Australian culture itself, is often uncertain. The humor is broad, and most of the time it's hard to distinguish between baddie characters and the film's protagonist himself, whose foul-mouthed and arrogant demeanor often gets in the way of the events unfolding around him.

Ozploitation at it's absolute finest!
And by finest I mean perfect Aussie ridiculous humour jam packed with over the top action sequences from start to finish!!
Nic Champeaux and Daniel Cordery have created an absolute perfect outrageous character in Lieutenant Jangles! Not to mention every other character that appears on screen!!
I highly recommend, sitting back, light up a ciggy, crack open your favourite Aussie beer and jump in balls deep to enjoy "Lieutenant Jangles.

This film is hilarious! A throwback to 80's buddy cop/action movies with a wonderful soundtrack and even better zingers! Please do yourself a favor and see Lieutenant Jangles if you get the chance. I was lucky enough to see it on the big screen at GenreBlast Film Festival. Despite my sleep deprivation, Lieutenant Jangles had me laughing from beginning to end; I didn't even get the chance to remember how tired I was! Definitely one of my favorites from the fest. Can't wait 'till I have the option to buy it so I can show everyone else the hilarity of this movie.

A fun, hysterical, and wild ride of a film out of Australia!! Throwback to the 80's action/crime/buddy cop genre, it looks and feels as if it was shot in the 80's. Unlike other want to be throwbacks that just throw on some 80's style clothes and think that will pass, these filmmakers really took the time and put in the work to capture the feel of an 80's action/crime film in all aspects, from editing, sound mixing, dialogue, action sequences, music, and the way it was shot. This film not only deserves a watch, it deserves a buy, so get off your ass distribution companies and release this gem to the world!! I was lucky enough to catch it at it's US premiere at GenreBlast Film Festival and I truly hope the rest of the world gets a chance to see this!! 10/10
