This must be one of the most awful movies ever. The bride to be is a psycho control freak that is so unlikable it is almost impossible to understand why anyone would like to marry her, or even be in the same room as her. The groom to be is a spineless little push-over, it is very hard not to hate him with spite. And the reverend frank is all irreverent to God and His religion, so unfunny that you almost cry. This movie made me so angry that I screamed out in despair, much to the dislike of my wife who sat next to me. A total of one (1) laugh through this entire "comedy" makes you wonder about the people that categorized this movie, are they sane? Have they even watched the movie? And the ending sucked, a total cliché where everyone is all happy and forgiving. Stay as long away from this reeking heap as you are able to. You could only hope that God would strike down with vengeance on the irreverent Robin Williams who even went as far as making fun of the ten commandments!

I am a big fan of Robin Williams but his character came across as creepy rather than humorous. There have been so many sex abuse cases involving priests/vicars that Williams hiding a microphone in the bedroom came across as a little disturbing.

John Krasinski was hilarious, don't get me wrong. Robin Williams was finally back as a character that was actually funny (I've permanently blocked out any and all memories of Man of the Year from my head). Mandy Moore is…cute. This movie did have some laughs. It had a nice little lesson taught throughout and resolved at the end. And…John Krasinski was hilarious. However, compare this movie to other romantic comedies of today (Knocked Up, anyone?) and it lacks the heart, the wit, and the script to make it an actual good movie. I could see the entire ensemble trying as hard as they possibly could, but it was the cliché and predictable script that dragged the entire experience down. Kudos to John and Robin for being troopers and giving it a shot, but Kim Barker and Tim Rasmussen should think twice before writing another romantic comedy.

LICENSE TO WED is a sophomoric and offensive "romantic comedy" that centers around Ben Murphy and Sadie Jones (THE OFFICE's John Krasinski and Mandy Moore), a recently engaged couple who, prior to taking their vows, agree to take a course on marriage being conducted by Jones family friend, Father Frank (Robin Williams), which includes things like classes on carrying the bridge across the thresh hold, role playing, animatronic babies, and blindfolded driving lessons. Pedestrian direction and a screenplay that offends at every turn provide further twists of the knife in this childish and predictable comedy that is an embarrassment to all involved. They lost me when Father Frank actually planted electronic listening devices in Ben and Sadie's home and it just goes downhill from there. John Krasinki's easy going charm almost makes the film worth sitting through, but not quite. Even Williams looks embarrassed to be trapped in this debacle.

Dont know why this film was made its offensive to think you need a certificate to say you love each other if this film was made so that the parents wanted her daughter to ensure they would stay together then the film shouldn't have been about marriage. if that was the case the film would be better Robbin Williams is the only notable thing in the movie.

1/7/18. Maybe 2 1/2 stars. An ok chick flick in which a couple gets tested by a minister for marriage readiness. It's cute and Krasinski and Moore have the chemistry that makes this work. Williams was good, but a bit stiff as the minister. The movie does cover the basics about what makes a relationship work, so that's your object lesson for the day.

I liked this movie. I never go to see a romantic comedy thinking 'I hope this movie is poignant, and fills me with a profound sense of enlightenment". I go to laugh, and not worry about all the crap that happens during that day. If what you're looking for is a movie that is enjoyable and has fun cameos, this is a good one. I hope this opens more doors for John Krasinski, he was great. Williams' character was a little maddening at times, but it added to the fun. I recommend this if you want a mindless, funny film. Should you hope for something deeper, i suggest you look towards something not including Robin Williams. Nanu-Nanu.

The movie is fast pace while trying to deliver unsuccessful humour. There is no chemistry between the actors. Robin Williams does the best he can with the part he is given, but it falls short. The movie feels empty as it reminds me of a bad version of "Guess Who". If your looking for something easy to watch that might make you laugh once that has no depth to it then definitely give it a try.
