Sadly the best part about this 4th instalment of the Lethal Weapon franchise is not the leads Mel Gibson and. Danny Glover, but the guest villain Jet Li, who steals every scene. Still at least the series went out on a high (thanks to Li), which wasn't looking the case after the very disappointing 3rd instalment. This is worth watching to see Li's character demonstrate his remarkable fighting abilities. It also neatly ties up the story arcs of all the recurring characters. Give it a go.

Despite the comedy lines, more and more every movie, which can rapidly become unbearable, annoying at the most, this fourth feature is worth only for Jet Li in an American film, but, above all, in a terrific villain, the best of the whole series; the second being for me Derrick O' Connor in LETHAL WEAPON 2. In this one, the highlight scenes are not the family, baby bulls....conversations, but the fights, especially the one between Gibson and Li. Solid Joel Silver Pictures stuff.

Is it my imagination, or is the once cool Lethal Weapon series on a death spiral? The movies now have a cast of thousands (Glover, Gibson, Pesci, Rene Russo, Chris Rock, everyone's latest baby, a bunch of bad guys, etc.) and they seem like nothing more than a feeble attempt to get them all some screen time. There's no coherent dialogue, no plot, and no point. Watching Jet Li play the latest supervillain was the only reason to be mildly entertained.

I saw this movie for the first time when it was released in the theaters. For all practical purposes, this is a bad film. The best way that I can describe the overall tone is a cross between an episode of the TV show Jake and the Fat Man and one of the Police Academy movies. The acting is fairly poor. Glover plays the same type of character he played in most of his films. The plot is a simple enough story. Even today the story holds up and is suspenseful to watch. There really isn't much more to say about this movie. I will say it again: a movie's function is to entertain. And I am always entertained when watching this one.

Here we go again, a new character, Lee Butters (Chris Rock). As before, I was worried about a new addition to the Lethal Weapon team.All of the main characters from the previous 3 movies are back, but the comedy is at an all-time low for a Lethal Weapon film. The action, however, is still existent, and that saves the film from being dull. But don't get me wrong, the humor is still there, it's just not as constant. *** out of *****

As a finale to the Lethal Weapon series, this movie ties them all up nicely. The gang is back along with some new characters and a new villian in Jet Li. Family plays a big part in this film. Both Riggs and Murtaugh contemplate life and there futures. While unknown to them both, babies will be in there somewhere as well. The action scenes are at there usual wonderful standard and there is more humour in this film then all of the others. But it works. All of the actors are at their best and it was interesting to see Jet Li in a villainous role as it's not something he usually does. As much as I would love to see another film in the series, this movie wraps it up perfectly and it doesn't really need a sequel. This is a rare franchise where all the entries were top notch films

Mel Gibson and Danny Golver have embarrassed themselves by starring in this disaster. There is no plot. Acting is incredibly poor. Chris Rock puts on a truly awful performance and uses the F-word in practically every sentence. In a movie that advertises violence, foul language, illegitimacy, and illegal immigration, they then have the nerve to preach Hollywood values. My dog leaves little piles of Hollywood values in yard ... if you know what I mean.

Nice and cool movie. All the actors were at the top of their game. Congrats to all of them because they deserved it!

Despite the headline, this is a decent addition to the lethal weapon series and is similar to all the others but maybe played out with less gusto. Riggs now joins Murtoch in being a bit past it and it's a reoccurring theme in the movie. Joe Pesci Is great again and the chemistry between the three of them is great as usual. Renee Russo serves as nothing really apart from Riggs' love interest and Chris Rock's character had nothing worthwhile to do either. Jet Li makes a great villain and his martial arts work is fantastic as you would expect, although the Chinese characterures get a bit much by the end. Overall, entertaining enough.
