"Laws of Attraction" can be considered a rather underrated comedy. This light little confection features Pierce Bronsan and Julianne Moore doing very likable work as two top-flight New York divorce attorneys who find themselves opposing each other in court, but quite compatible in their personal lives. While this is by no means a great movie, it is definitely worth watching because it tells a cute and entertaining story without violence (unless you count the inadvertent damage of a leprechaun statuette), expicit sex or coarse language. Very classy entertainment indeed, and a ringing endorsement on romance and marriage. Frances Fischer is a particular treat as Julianne Moore's mother, a saucy (and rather fetching) society matron with a delightfully dry sense of humor. Also watch for indie movie queen Parker Posey in a nifty turn as the fashion designer wife of a philandering rock star. Six out of ten, but definitely worth watching.

Poorly written, poorly directed, aimlessly acted - you'll feel like you lost a little piece of your life if you waste even ten minutes on this disaster. SKIP IT, for God's sake! It's embarrassing watching Julianne Moore try to imitate Meg Ryan at her worst, and Pierce is so far above a project like this, you just feel sad for him the whole time. This rates near the all-time bottom of my pile. The clichés come fast and hard, and this movie grinds away with its meager plot like a saw with now teeth. You just can't wait for it to end, and when it has, you can't believe you sat through the whole stupid thing. You can throw this one onto the bonfire with "Legally Blonde 2" as a fantastic insult to your intelligence, and a profound waste of your time.

Film is awful ..one word really i think that Julliane Moore is not for playing in such a kind of films ..She is really terrible and she is looking more like psychopath then nice girl !! Had 'Laws of Attraction' incorporated the alternate scenes and subplots, it would be deeper, grittier and funnier, well worthy of a '4'. However, as presented, the movie is good only for a weak '1', primarily due to the charms of Pierce Brosnan. Otherwise it world be better if in this was playing Julia Roberts or someone better then Ms.Moore . In one word total disappointment !! The supporting is actually great, from Sheen, Posey, Fisher, Dunn to the locals in the Irish village. All in all a great screwball comedy which has been made in years, if the ending were any better...

I love romantic comedies. When the reviews said `great acting, boring plot' I thought, but I never get bored of boy meets girl, boy and girl have sparks and fire, etc. Guess what – it was boring. A done and redone plot. Julianne and Pierce were wonderful. Parker Posey was particularly good. All in all pleasant, but NOT a great movie.

The measure of a good story is it's ability to hold up and pass the test of time. This story passes that test. I enjoyed it today as much as I did 15years ago. The chemistry between the characters is great.

Many people decided to not see this film because it was under the category of Romance. I myself felt the same way. Though, being a huge Pierce Brosnan fan, I decided to rent the film and I loved the film so much that I bought it. Brosnan and Moore had great on-screen chemistry and it instantly made you like their great characters. Though the storyline may resemble many other romance/comedy films the cast brings something different to the table that makes you fall in love with the film. The script was very well written and it constantly throws funny moments at you. This film has been totally under-rated and deserves to be seen by a wider audience. Go out and buy this film, you won't regret it!

The story overall wasn't bad, the script was good, but the chemistry between the two main characters was lacking. It made the whole thing cheesy and a little hard to watch. Michael Sheen's performance though stole the show. Every scene he was in was highly entertaining to watch.

I have been a fan of Pierce Brosnan since "Remington Steele" and I really liked Julianne Moore in "Forgotten" so I thought I would give this movie a try. "Laws of Attraction" is a conventional romantic comedy that doesn't challenge your intellect or imagination much - but it is lightly entertaining - and sometimes that is all you want from a movie. Francis Fisher who plays Julianne Moore's mother is a bit amusing about not wanting people to know her age and Parker Posey as the designer Serena and Michael Sheen as the rock start Thorne Jamison are brash and loud and perfect for their parts. It is a very nice romantic comedy movie, not one destined to be a classic like "You've Got Mail" or "Pretty Woman" but nice.
