Our family was given the amazing opportunity to be at one of the premieres of The Last Ounce of Courage. I found the movie to be more than something to consider - but a call to action regarding the civil liberties that are being challenged (and that have been lost) in the tireless assault of political correctness and the perceived "need" to not offend.
I did not find the movie to be heavy-handed in national or religious sentiment but these are certainly a thread through the movie (courage, character and conviction are the core elements of the filmmakers). We learned at the premiere that this is the second largest opening of an independent film (behind Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ).
Our family has recently learned that as private citizens it impossible to violate the Constitution of the United States - the Constitution serves as boundaries of all government officials - a rare protection of citizenry of a country. The truth is the United States IS different than other countries in the world. This is not something to take for granted or to apologize for.
This movie calls to action its citizenry, taking into account the cost for that freedom as well as the price of not doing anything. I am hopeful that you enjoy the movie and are moved - as my family is - to not only learn of our rights but our responsibilities as a US citizen.

I give this movie a 10+. Every true patriot in this country need to see it. I could care less about what the critics say about this movie below because the negative comments are dead wrong. Everyone should feel inspired to see this movie if you love this country and have seen the previews. Our freedoms are being attacked today before our very eyes and for those who do not see it, please wake up. We need to always defend our freedom because we are the freedom fighters of this country. God Bless America! It also discusses the controversial issues about separation of church and state which is a violation of our freedom of rights. Jesus Saves! God bless the people who put this movie together for all to see. You will only be disappointing yourself if you do not go see this movie. Best movie I have seen in a long time. I walked away after seeing this movie saying that our freedom is worth the fight in the end.
Here is a post I came across on Rotten Tomatoes that I thought was right on target to share with everyone.
Don't bother reading the reviews for this movie. Anyone who thinks that movie critics and boneheads on websites like Rotten Tomatoes aren't biased truly needs to wake up and smell the coffee. This is film about an important subject - the destruction of our civil liberties by the politically correct proponents of "tolerance". Not surprisingly, that tolerance only goes in one direction - leftward and anti-Christian which are the same thing.Set in a small town against the backdrop of an America at war against terrorism, the storyline follows the mayor of the town who is himself a decorated veteran (I can hear the reviewers booing already) whose son is killed in combat. It follows his subsequent struggles against a thinly veiled ACLU-like organization that seeks to place a boot across the throat of free speech and freedom of religion - that's freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion for those who haven't read the Bill of Rights recently. He is stripped of his public office and finally arrested. I won't give away the ending, but it is clearly written to give hope to those who see our nation under attack by those who somehow manage to get as many benefits from America as possible. The best screen portrayals come from veterans Jennifer O'Neill and Fred Williamson with lesser known Hollywood veteran Marshall Teague as the beleaguered mayor. The other actors try, but can't provide the screen presence of the three main characters.Last Ounce of Courage is a fine movie that, in its small way, cries "Halt" to Obama's Alinskyite leftward march into an American socialist Hell. Have some guts. Go see it and make the God-haters' heads explode when they see the weekend grosses.

This movie tries very hard to remind us that we must all stand up for Freedom. It is our responsibility to insure that the freedoms that where pasted down from our forefathers is still there for our children. Freedom is not free, and everyday America comes closer and closer to rule by the elite which will end in rule by dictatorship. We must take a stand.
This was a wonderful good hearted movie. Having served my Country proudly for 6 years I highly recommend this movie to any American Patriots out there. There are many of us out there and that is something that we need to remember. This movie helped me remember that I'm not alone in my Love for Freedom and this Country.

Last Ounce of Courage takes place in a skewed, alternate reality where everyday freedoms HAVE been taken away and Christmas is actually threatened by people such as an African-American man from Washington DC (seriously ... the film went there). There is NOTHING subtle about this movie (the "TRUE" patriotic hero of the film has a last name of Revere) and it is comprised of nothing but false talking points that aren't even close to being true or becoming a reality. There are so many furrowed brows on display here the fictional town of Mt. Columbus appears to be among the angriest in film history. It is all balderdash.
Even with these preposterous assertions, what truly makes the film a disaster are the low production values, the over-the-top-hoping-for-an-Oscar acting, the blatant vilifying of select minorities and its sense of smugness that it has throughout for anybody with a differing opinion.
It is either this or a brilliant satire of the fanatical right ... in which case it may be genius.

I have never, ever written a review after seeing a movie in the theaters. This movie is point-blank...AMAZING!!! An absolute MUST SEE for every single American! We need to "wake up" as Americans because our freedoms ARE being taken away from us one-by-one. If we don't wake up and start taking a stand against the scare tactics from the side that wants evil, then we will lose our freedoms and liberties that we take for granted every day.
Go see this movie IMMEDIATELY! You will not be disappointed (and if you are disappointed after seeing this movie or maybe "mad" at the story line/content/etc...as an American, you should truly check yourself).
UNBELIEVABLE movie all the actors/producers/etc did a FANTASTIC job putting it all together! 20 STARS!!!

My hubby and I saw this over the weekend. Wow were we impressed!! :D If you love America, you've got to see this and tell everyone you know to see it!! This generation of kids needs to watch this the most. Sure loved seeing a wholesome family movie that really gives you hope for the future and drives your passion all the more for taking a stand for our country before it's too late. Thank God they made this. I'm so patriotic already, so of course I love this movie! If your military or ever have been you'll really appreciate their recognition as well. I'm the type that rarely ever cries, but I teared up many times during the movie. Anyone who really loves our country and our freedoms and liberties will really enjoy it. :)

LAST OUNCE OF COURAGE empowers the people of the United States to stand for truth, God, and country without stepping on anyone's toes, except those trying to close the door of liberty and freedoms established by our Founding Fathers. I've recommended this to everyone in the past 36 hours after seeing it opening weekend. Unfortunately it is slated to be here only 1 week.
Today six adults went to see it just from my announcement at lunch. Most people I know will love this movie and I will do my best to tell them before it leaves the theater. Recommended it on Facebook not only on my own wall, but connected directly to specific friends who will love it, too.
Wish Hollywood distributors understood folks in middle America. They'd make more movies like this and more importantly, know how to promote them.
My prediction: A sleeper that will/or should be a blockbuster by Christmas, especially if I can do anything about it.

This movie has it's finger on the pulse of many issues facing America today. It dealt with death and the way a family can choose not to deal with emotions which then continues to cause additional pain and hurt in other ways. There are many who are not willing to "see" the freedom that once made our country strong is becoming corrupt. By stuffing anything religious shows that our "freedom" has serious boundary issues that are often lopsided. Unfortunately, the boundaries have gone so far that things that are allowed and are damaging which are seen as freedom of speech, but other things such as Christmas symbols are considered unlawful...this movie brings this painful reality to the screen.
There were times during the movie where acting wasn't as realistic as a 10 out of 10 movie, but the multiple themes and positive message made this a great family movie! Sometimes people can be overly critical of the small stuff that they miss out on the big picture...don't allow yourself to do that when you go to see this! This can bring about meaningful discussions within your family and circle of friends if you talk about the forgiveness issues, pain, and unjustified restrictions now facing many in our country today. Some movies can be good to watch and you just walk away from them. This movie can bring about change in people's lives and leave an imprint that is powerful on your memory. I will be recommending this movie to MANY people as it brings a renewed sense of Pride for America and families. I hope it will bring some positive changes on personal, family, local, and national levels as well!

Talk about timely...folks, if you don't think this is really what's happening to our country, you need to get your head out of the sand. This movie really hits the nail on the head and gives us a glimpse of what many families have faced. There are poignant moments and shocking moments...and for me and my pal, tears. I did not know a lot about this movie before seeing it today; it was quite different than what I expected. I was inspired by the theme and spurred on do more than sit and watch my country change into something I don't recognize. The acting was not academy award caliber in my opinion, but it was good enough to keep my attention and get the message across. Jennifer O'Neill did the best job, I believe as the "mom" character. The photography was good for this type of movie and was not a distraction. For me, everything "fit" and this story of a town where the people stand for freedom is timely and important. Any naysayers can go eat worms because if you listen to the whole message you'll see how we've been asleep too long. Time to wake up and smell the freedom! I'd say go see it and take your kids.
