While this wasn't the worst movie I've seen...it definitely wasn't the best. Taking into account the budget- it's not bad. Interesting premise. I'm thankful I found it on Netflix and didn't actually spend like 5 bucks on it. As a film student- I was just shocked at the editing mistakes and shots out of focus... and continuity wise a few errors, and parts of the movie dropped frame, (it went black), instead of progressing to the next shot... As a car lover- you can just tell the sounds were obviously stock sounds- (meaning not from the actual car, just out of whatever program they used be it sound blaster or whatnot...) There are ways to edit this and find appropriate sounds: for example the car was moving, obviously no down-shifting happened and the sound you hear is a down-shift... Little rough, but not a bad effort for the money put into it.

It's really sad, because the box promises so much. But, even for a low-budget production, as this clearly is, expecting actors to be able to act shouldn't be too much to ask. It started off poor, and aside from a few grins now and again, just declined steadily from then on. The effects are shoddy, even for a low budget. Pasty plastic glued to a mans face to make him look like a corpse, loses any shred of conviction when his hands are all fleshy and tan. The acting is mediocre when it's at its very best, which it usually isn't. None of the characters are convincing, or even likable. The zombie kid, who couldn't stop laughing for the 3 second durations of shot, didn't help. The violence is inconsistent. I don't mind bloody murder - it's a zombie-flick after all. But a zombie-punt goes from funny, to ridiculous, to just too much when they keep pounding for 30 seconds. And really, how hard do you have to strike someone - even a living dead - over the head with a golf club, to completely sever the top of their skull? The music --- Well, better not to mention the music. And the story. Well, it's a zombie movie, riddled with clichés, which in itself is fine - had they only been well executed. And finally.. Seriously.. Fart jokes? One or two would've been okay. One or two for every 5 minutes of film, though? In conclusion, just don't bother. Rewatch "Shaun of the Dead" or "Zombieland" instead.

The plot sounds simple enough, three friends find themselves surviving a Zombie holocaust, where humanity are practically extinct; and find delight in a good game of Zombie-baseball, shopping at local zombie stores, finding survivors and passing their time as couch potatoes. "It sounds just like another lazy Sunday-afternoon, right." Not that simple, when you're surrounding by millions of munchies zombies out for a day on the town." I like this movie, is a sort of couch potatoes (Shaun of the Dead), 28 Days Later, and Zombieland combined. I was pleasantly surprise by a good simple story of surviving a Zombie holocaust; the acting was good and relationship between the characters great. It has a type of haunting sort of atmosphere with a good sound track, funny scenes, it lingers at the palate. If you are expecting an "A" movie, you will not find it here; but is a most excellent B zombie movie, sure to become a cult-classic. This is the type of guilty pleasure you enjoy with a couple of buddies, a few beers and some good munchies.

This film is all over the place, one minute you have classic shambling zombies then later in the film they can run. If you get bitten by the zombie you get turned into one (sometimes instantly when the mood hits the writers even though at another stage in the film they say it takes more than an hour to turn) but if the zombies blood gets sprayed into your mouth it's fine. At one stage one of the characters is able to knock out a zombie with a punch in other scenes 3 of them can't knock one zombie with bats (although I think they where just copying Shaun of the dead in that scene). I suppose the films supposed to be a comedy but it fails at that too, overall nothing works here it's a bad comedy, it's a bad horror and it's about as suspenseful as watching a dog lick it's own balls.

This Movie is Probably Going to be My Last Viewing of Zombie Movie Series, This is the Worst of its Kind and I Don't Know How did it Get a 4.8 Rating with those 292 Votes, I'm Giving this a Comment "This Movie is the Worst and Low budget with 1 out of 10 (Awful)" Because I Care for the People Who Watch Movies Based on Comments and Ratings. Just Like the Last Comment Said, It does have a Short Footage of 28 Days Later. For the People Who Already Watched and Loved Movies Like Night of the Living Dead, Return of the Living Dead and Land of the Dead this is Going to be an Extreme Disappointment for you, But if you Love Zombies and you Adore Zombies you'll Probably Like this Movie.

Wow... So this film was so boring. I rented it because it looked like it would be up the same alley as Shawn of the Dead, but aside from zombies and jokes they are in NO way comparable. The production values were low enough to be a distraction for one. The acting was lame for two. The story was boring for three.. ugh! I spent five bucks to rent this film and I feel totally cheated. If I had ANYTHING else to do, I never would have finished it. I was happy when the credits rolled. Okay, I've ranted I feel better. So why a 3 star not a 1? It's not the worst movie I've ever seen. Also, there were on very seldom occasions a few laughs. Mostly the movie was just laughable though. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

I bought it, because I was fooled by the "destined to become a cult classic" sticker on the front.. It's nowhere near being a cult classic, I'd be surprised if it's remembered in a few years.. The characters were funny enough, most of the time, but sometimes also too much.. Like lead actor Morgan got annoying in the end with his cocky attitude, could've been done better.. Zombies farting all the time isn't my thing either.. Zombies suddenly learning to run in the middle of the movie isn't my thing either.. An ending you've seen many times before isn't my thing either.. Also a very big concern I have.. WHY do some zombie heroes and heroins try to find a cure, that can turn the zombies back to normal?? Who'd want to be a rotten human? Zombies are DEAD and CAN'T be turned back.. You can maybe make a vaccine, so you can become immune, but a cure to turn you back would never be possible in any zombie universe.. "You've been turned back to normal! Now go live your life again!" "But.. My guts are all over the floor.." *drops dead again* Rent it, if you MUST see it!

No. Not that good. I must admit I was fooled by the other (2) comments here on this movie, so I might have expected too much of it. The start is an exact copy of 28 Days Later and soon it becomes a slapstick of how to bash a mindless/slow (badlooking) zombie in a cool way. The moment I saw the first zombie appear I knew this wouldn't do it for me. It's like a few blokes made a homemade zombie flick with some You-can-play-the-zombie friends. It never held my attention, it never got scary. And thats basically it. Some new characters are added to add..nothing, more zombies appear (I guess if you can't act you can always play a zombie) and the bashing continues. If you like boring kick-the-zombie movies, this is for you, if not just skip it.

Sometimes home grown can surprise you. Expectations for this low budget kiwi zombie flick set in Christchurch were not high for this reviewer, but the comedy horror feature length spoof turned up trumps recently with its premiere at the NZ Film Festival. The cost to make the film was rumoured to have not reached the six figure mark. But it doesn't show, as this film has style, following in the tracks of Peter Jackson's early effort "Bad Taste" with its exploding sheep and kiwi humour mayhem. It opens with a lone figure tramping deserted streets that suggests a post apocalypse setting. Zombies appear suddenly and are dispatched just as quickly in a over the top splatter manner by said lone figure. He links up with two fellow survivor mates who also casually knock off scary looking zoms with a skill saw, baseball bat, a golf club and any other weapon to hand. The trio are an unlikely combo of geeky ex accountant Ash (Ashleigh Southam) and his two mates Morgan (Morgan Williams) and a raving rock and roller Johnny (Robert Faith). They get by as best they can in spite of the flesh munching undead menace. Then the love interest arrives in the form of gorgeous young scientist (Emily Paddon-Brown) as she seeks to find the vaccine that will save what's left of the normal world. Sexual rivalry is of course then let loose amongst the chaos. Crazy stuff, but delightfully delivered with some neat acting, very funny dialogue, great soundtrack and judicious editing. It has that sort of zany "Flight of the Conchords" feel about it, and could easily become a cult classic. Impressive first effort, lots of stars, a madcap film well worth a visit if it comes back in the mainstream cinemas. Laurence Shaw
