I first saw this movie on VHS as a kid ten years ago under the title "Soldier Of Fortune". I loved it back then basically because it was a funny entertaining film when it wasn't even trying to be. I then lost the VHS over the years and two months ago i spotted "Laser Mission" on DVD two months ago for €1 in a bargain bin! Its still funny today as it was then although the part where the guard gets his head chopped off has been edited out. The most bizarre thing about this film is the close up of the black hotel receptionist after Micheal checks in. It focuses on his face and he says, "Maybe when your gone, we can make some money!". Totally off the wall and it cracked me and my friends up for years! I'd recommend this film to anyone who appreciates good things bad films have to offer.

Everything about this movie is brilliant; the humour, the unintentional humour, the cheesy 90s music and clothing, the sound effects... it's a giant mess, but it is such a fun giant mess. Brandon is clearly having a blast playing the cocky Michael Gold and not taking himself too seriously with the slapstick comedy that pops up in random places. Terrible script, laughable minor actors and so many cloches it's hard to keep count...but it's just so damned entertaining. Give it a shot. Even if it is just to watch the amazing Brandon Lee x

You can tell that is movie is a low budget film, but Brandon Lee still shines through. My favorite part of the film is when Michael Gold sky dives out of the airplane and drops into the army encampment disguised as one of their own. The voice characterization is truly amazing! If you are a Brandon Lee fan this movie is a must see.

This film is Hilarious. The Budget was so small that they had to re-use extras repeatedly. There's this one guy who stands out like a sore thumb, (He's a Black Guy with huge Yellow front teeth), I counted him in the film 22 times, with Brandon Lee killing him 18 of those times ! Editing is the worst I have ever seen ....... Bad guy called: "Col. Kalishnakov" ...... Ernest Borgnine as a German, who speaks with a Russian acent..... Majority of the crew have never worked on another film..... This would be brilliant to show in Film School's, for what not to do. This film is so terribly bad, that its actually Brilliant ! I WAS drunk the first time I saw it, so I laughed more, even still though - You gotta see this film.

OK, this may be a B movie, if not a C movie, but it is THE movie to watch should you be drinking heavily and desiring a good laugh. Everything bad that has been said... is absolutely true. The last ten minutes of the movie are absolute "boobery." This is EXACTLY why you should see it, and probably why you will buy it when you're done watching it. I tell ya, there's nothing better than a drunken night laughing at this total piece of "shiznit". This movie is simply touching. Sincerely, A Satisfied Customer

Well… "Laser Mission" is obviously not a good film. But, Brandon Lee does show what good breeding can do for a man. And, Debi Monahan does show what good cleavage can do for a woman. The low-cut blue dress Ms. Monahan wears on her date with Mr. Lee makes its points. She keeps it on for almost the entire movie. You also get a lot of fighting, shooting, and Ernest Borgnine. "Kidnapped by Soviet agents, Professor Braun (Borgnine) is forced to work on a powerful laser weapon that could be used to enslave the world," according to the DVD synopsis, "The CIA decides to send agents Michael Gold (Lee) and Alissa (Monahan) into Cuba to retrieve the scientist and a cache of diamonds being used to build the weapon." I can't say much that hasn't already been said brilliantly. Obviously, many of you love the bad movies the way I do. For those of you reading this who have not seen the film, I'll tell you exactly why you should watch it: It's Brandon Lee in a feature-length Mentos commercial. I kid you not. The look and feel of this movie simply scream "The Freshmaker." You know you want to see it now. And just to correct one bit of info someone else posted, the one and only song used in this movie (over and over and over) is indeed by David Knopfler. David was not, however, in Dire Straits. That was his brother Mark. This movie was only able to afford David. Sorta like getting Ted Mellencamp. Not good.
