I wanted to like it, the premise & cast were promising. I held on for a painful half hour but after that, I couldn't take it anymore! Not worth one more second of my time, and not worth one of yours either. Just so SO bad.

I saw reviews for and against this movie. I liked the plot. I liked the stars. I tend to be pretty easy to entertain. But man, this is a Snoozer! I actually had trouble staying awake. Just little to no energy from the players. I especially loved Melanie Lynskey as "Rose" in Two And a Half Men. The director in this movie wasted her talent along with Justin's and the rest of the cast by settling for less than the best. Could have been a really fun movie. The plot idea was great. But the writing and directing were terrible.

Claims to be a comedy but not at all funny. And I love a good comedy. I could not find any redeeming qualities in this hot mess. Tried to watch it to the end but could not make myself do it. After surviving 2020, life is too short for movies like this! If you read this and still watch it, thats on you!

Rented because Rachel Ray said she laughed a million times....must of been every time they said a four letter word....if you like four letter words to make a movie then this is for you...other than that a waste of time.

The only reasons I saw this was Judy Greer and Justin Long, both of whom have done some great work, as well as some duds. The idea for the movie is not original, but in the right hands can work well, unfortunately barring the arrest scene, this 'comedy' was devoid of laughs. N.b. Ryan Phillippe will probably look like Mickey Rourke in 20 years if he keeps on getting the surgery.

When i saw the cast i immediately thought i should watch this. Dont go in there with high expectation. This is not like your conventional movie. No make up nothing. You can see their wrinkles and their acne on the actor's faces. The story could become a bit slow at times but every actor played their role to perfection. I could just look at ryan and justin and laugh.

I love Melanie Lynskey, but this was pretty awful. Her character was flat and one dimensional, and I had the feeling she was phoning the whole thing in. She's a good actor with great comedic chops, so for the life of me I can't understand how she and several other recognizable names ended up in this awkwardly written and poorly paced nonsense. Did they all owe Justin & Christian Long a favor? And speaking of the frères Long, their directing was...well, nonexistent. The entire production was directionless and lost at sea. There's the germ of a cute story in here somewhere, but good luck finding it. Did I say the actors were all recognizable? Perhaps I should retract that, because Ryan Philippe is doing his best via surgery to make himself less and less recognizable. I guess turning 47 was too much for him: his face is unnatural and a little creepy. There are several other things about this film that just irritated me because they were completely avoidable. For example, the "manor" is supposed to be from the 1840s, when clearly it's a 1920s structure. The story was set in Georgia, but shot in Florida. Are there no antebellum buildings in Florida? If no, couldn't they have used external shots of a period appropriate house from a neighboring state? I hear Georgia & Mississippi are chock full of those things. And why didn't anyone ever clean Melanie up? Again, I like her, but her character is a grossly unpleasant slob throughout the entire story, and not in an adorably-disorganized-ugly-duckling-who-will-become-a-swan-in-the-end kind of way. The character is lusted after by 2 guys, but men don't generally chase fat, greasy-haired stoners who sit on the couch in pajamas all day. I know I wouldn't. Anyway, I could go on, but this is getting boring.
I would skip this movie if I were you, even if you're a fan of the people in it. Something went terribly wrong somewhere, and the whole effort turned out excusably mediocre to downright bad. Hard and disappointing pass. Meh.

When I read what this movie would be about I loved the idea and was almost certain I was going to at least like the movie.
I thought it would be a little like "Ghosts", the series from BBC One from 2019, which I enjoy a lot.
But then I watched it and struggled through it. You know when a certain style of comedy just isn't for you? That's exactly what happened.
I just cringed too many times. Too many moments of second hand embarrassment.
There are different ways of writing a "ne'er-do-well" main character but the way Hannah was written just didn't make me root for her. I also wasn't sold on the character. In my opinion she's unrealistically ignorant about the world and generally not a well written version of a gross, dumb and crass woman.
The acting was really good and I think the actors were well cast for this movie. The premise of a ne'er-do-well who becomes a tour guide in a historic estate and winds up befriending the manor's resident ghost could be a really good comedy movie in my opinion if only it was approached in a different way.
What I liked about it; the acting quality, the premise itself
What I disliked about it; the type of humor, the writing.
