-Kill Me Three Times (2015) movie review: -Kill Me Three Times is a much anticipated indie film following contract killer Simon Pegg who gets involved in this one job that turns out to be a part of two other murder/blackmail/revenge plots revolving around a bunch of idiots.
-Kill Me Three Times is like if Quentin Tarantino directed Burn After Reading, but it turned out to be not as good as Burn After Reading. So Kill Me Three Times did not live up to the anticipation.
-The story was interesting and functional, but it has been done before and it has been done better.
-The pace was fine.
-The acting: Simon Pegg did a good job and he was convincing and funny. The supporting cast includes Teresa Palmer (the girl from I Am Number Four), Alice Braga (the girl from Elysium), some guy, Hemsworth #3, and Callan Mulvey (Crossbones from Captain America 2). However none of them were that good. They were functional, but some of the performances, like Luke Hemsworth, were just bland.
-The characters were pretty shallow, but funny. There was no motivation for most of the things that happened, partly because there was no backstory or setup for the things that happened. However seeing this conglomerate of idiots and Simon Pegg's killer meet in Tarantino fashion was pretty enjoyable.
-The music was fun and Tarantino-influenced. BUT it was the same two pieces over and over and over again through the entire film, giving it a repetitive feel.
-The film was funny and, even though it was flawed and had a lot of bland elements, tried hard to be entertaining. I was mildly entertained through much of the film, so I am going to say that Kill Me Three Times would be worth watching on Netflix.

A guy, Charlie, is lying on the floor, he tells us he's about to die. He's going to tell us how he got there.
Then we see him in the desert about to execute some guy when he gets a phone call. He tells the other person he will be there in an hour.
Then we meet a dentist and his assistant who's also his wife. They get a call for an appointment and that changes their plans, they have to rush now. They change dental records. When Alice, the appointment, arrives the dentists slams a needle in her neck. They drag her body into the trunk of a car. At the same time, Charlie is nearby taking pictures of it all.
We move further into the past an learn that Alice's husband who owns a bar is crazy jealous. He thinks she's cheating on him and hires Charlie. The dentist and wife are trying to fake the wife's death in a car accident to collect insurance because the dentist is a gambler who owes money. They need Alice's body to play the role of the wife's body.
With all this Charlie sees an opportunity to make a lot of money from everyone involved and since all of this is about money there's plenty to be made. And the are twists upon twists until the end.
Kill Me Three Times has an interesting story, told in a convoluted way but it also makes you look forward to the resolution. It's violent and bloody. As often happens with movies like these they felt the need to turn it into a comedy to make the violence palatable. Simon Pegg does a great job as usual and carries the movie. Poor Sullivan Stapleton gets the role of the dumb guy. The lovely Teresa Palmer gets to be a mean girl, as most other characters in this movie. She gets to do a shower scene for the pleasure of the crew, but the audience get nothing out of it. But all the virtues of this movie are completely annulled by the moronic decision by someone to drown the entire movie and its audience in constant loud stupid caper/Tarantino-type music from the first second till the end. It made it nearly unwatchable and ruined what would otherwise have been a solid crime thriller.

This movie really should be better known as it contains some absolutely brilliant acting and direction with a story that unfolds in a very twisted way that is oddly captivating.
From the very beginning you'll be rather mystified as to what is going on but you'll gradually get a glimmer of understanding as each time shifted scene unfolds. There's one thread that holds out right until the end and it's this that will keep you glued to the screen.
Even so this movie doesn't take itself too seriously, wrapping up the twists and turns with a tongue-in-cheek poke at the 'detective thriller' that is lightly amusing and made me laugh at the ending.
A thoroughly enjoyable caper that deserves better recognition than it currently seems to have. More like this please.

Kill Me Three Times more like Kill This Movie Three Times so it doesn't get a full release.
The story is about a professional hit-man who botches a contract and has to deal with three big problems: murder, blackmail and revenge - all revolving around him.
I'm the kind of person who likes to watch movies that are well known to everyone and the others that are low budget and never heard of before by mostly everyone. I came across Kill Me Three Times before it was even release worldwide, it had some critics reviews from some kind of film festival somewhere but I still had a little interest in it and at the time it only had one photo and no trailer. Now it's got it's worldwide release and wow this movie got a beaten chewed up by critic calling it "A disease and a pure mess". I was surprised of how much backlash this movie got and as I'm speaking right now this has a 9% on Rotten Tomatoes. And after seeing the movie I can see what people were saying, this movie was trying to hard to be something that it's not.
The whole movie feels like it's trying to hard to be like Quentin Tarantino films with the dialogue trying to be down to earth and original but this movie doesn't have Tarantino himself to pull of his magic. And the style of the movie has a little touch of Tarantino as well and yes I know I keep bringing up Tarantino but that's honestly what was in my head through out the film.
Simon Pegg did fine in this movie and so did the other cast as well, nothing really special but nothing god awful.
I can't really say anything else that I thought was good in the movie. The writing was blah, the directing was a bit chopper and overall Kill Me Three Times is bland and forgettable.

I very seldom write reviews. This will be a short one. I just watched 15 minutes of the film because I couldn't stand it any longer. Sorry Simon Pegg fans, but I guess he didn't read the script or was a friend of the director. Short summary for the first 15 minutes: - repeating enervating soundtrack - the "story" is no story, just independently arranged scenes - did I mention the "soundtrack"? IT'S ENNERVING AS HELL
Maybe it gets better after the first 15 minutes, but I really couldn't go on any longer with this. In general I only abandon about 0,5 percent of the movies I start watching. This was one of them...

"What your talking about is a one way street. Once you start there is no going back." Charlie Wolfe (Pegg) is a professional hit man that has just been given a job to kill the wife of a client. What he thinks will be an easy job soon becomes harder when he realizes he isn't the only one trying to kill her. This movie had flashes, and reminded me a little of Pulp Fiction. The way the movie skipped around and you got more backstory with each successive scene, while the movie is moving forward at the same time. This is not the typical Simon Pegg role, but he was a good choice for this. The movie took a generic hit-man idea and really did something with it to make it feel new and exciting. This is nothing all that amazing, but it is a really fun movie to watch and a good way to spend an hour and a half without having to think too hard. Overall, exciting and entertaining. A fun rental that is worth seeing. I give this a B.

'KILL ME THREE TIMES': Three Stars (Out of Five)
A black comedy crime-thriller, starring Simon Pegg; as a hit-man hired to kill a businessman's cheating wife. The film was directed by Kriv Stenders and written by first-time feature film writer James McFarland. It costars Alice Braga, Sullivan Stapleton, Teresa Palmer, Luke Hemsworth, Callan Mulvey and Bryan Brown. The movie is surprisingly dark and brutally violent; but it's not as funny, or as shocking, as it wants to be.
Pegg plays Charlie Wolfe; an assassin for hire, and private investigator, working in Western Australia. When a successful motel and bar owner, Jack Taylor (Mulvey), suspects his wife, Alice (Braga), of cheating on him; he hires Wolfe to find out. After Charlie brings back info, that's not to Jack's liking, Jack hires him to kill Alice. While Charlie is attempting to complete the assignment, he finds out that another couple (Stapleton and Palmer) wants her dead as well. Things get complicated, and the story is told from three different points of view.
Pegg is fantastic as the movie's main villain; and it's nice to see him playing against type for-a-change. The supporting cast is all adequate as well, and the directing is decent. The script is somewhat clever, and it also has a few nice twists, but it's nothing too memorable. The film is entertaining enough, while you're watching it, but it doesn't offer much more than that.

With it's upbeat music and sunny weather KMTT is much darker than it seems at first sight. More Fargo than anything else, it is a 'comedy of errors' - if murder can be funny. The cast delivers well, though Simon Pegg as the bad guy is better than most with his laconic and slightly creepy character. The plot and pacing are competent, as are the photography and editing. Still, somehow, KMTT can't quite seem to make up its mind whether to be humorous or serious; there are actually a couple of rather nasty bits that are delivered in an off-hand way. Fairly predictable, but all the same the way it is done is tidy enough. It's worth watching for some light entertainment, just don't expect to remember it the next week.

IMHO he bombs when playing straight roles i.e. ones where the films aren't supposed to be funny. This was supposed to be a comedy and he still bombed. Quite how he's managed to "blag" his way onto Star Trek and MI casts is a complete mystery to me ? Having mentioned I'm not a fan, this film is no better for him playing the lead role as Hector and his Intolerable Search for Anything Faintly Amusing was.
I have read somewhere that this film tries to combine its role as a mix of Tarantino or Coen Brothers. Sadly its not worthy of anything remotely resembling films from those producers and suggestions that it rivals Martin McDonagh's Seven Psychopaths is just pure nonsense.
This film is neither exciting nor intriguing and is certainly not funny. I agree with others that the score was just bad. I think RT's got it just about spot on. Its a 1 from me simply because you cant give a 0.
