It'd be nice if someone could make some stoner films that aren't filled with clichés/rip offs/stereotypes. Someone wrote in a review that it was like the wolf of wall street but for bud... they're right. But it's not a good thing, you can see what they have imitated very clearly. The weird cop who stops them is a rip off from Super Troopers (he says meow before he walks back to his car for no reason - the game in super troopers). They also casually enforce really bad stoner stereotypes which are the source of the stigma behind smoking cannabis. I could go on. The characters don't feel real. None of them have charisma and I feel like I'm hearing a story from the one kid at school who lies and exaggerates to sound cool and I can't wait for it to be over. I know it's based on true events but it's clearly heavily dramatized and badly written. The only redeeming feature of this film is a couple of famous names I didn't expect to see in such a shocker and some technical knowledge. Emphasis on some. Top ten worst stoner movies.

I originally played this movie late at night so that I could fall asleep to it. However, once the beginning credits started to play, I could not keep my eyes off the screen as my attention was caught early and stayed strong all the way through. It shows the meteoric rise of a 18 year old high school drop out to a massive drug hauling king pin. I realize that some people will be quick to pass up this movie as some 'stoner flick' not worth watching but there is so much more to this movie than meets the eye. The film has a little bit of everything including strong dialogue, relatable characters, and quite a few laughs in between. The characters are believable and likable and all parts are played satisfactorily. The ending wrapped everything up nicely and answered all questions that have been in viewers' minds while watching. Overall, solid movie indeed. It may not have the most depth in terms of story, but nonetheless it was a very entertaining movie. 7/10

I have to give this movie a B- just because the ending really made me uncomfortable and angry. The film has a nice pace and if you have ever done anything that you knew was dodgy and were nervous about getting caught, the beginning of the film really brought back that same feeling of dread and excitement that I had. The acting is excellent and if anything this movie is too realistic which is why the inevitable ending is pretty excruciating to watch. However the movie is fun and makes you wistful at the end of it because they really could have had it all if they were not so (cussing) greedy. It really is sickening that you can get life in prison for selling pot to me. All of the violence and tax evasion that are associated with weed are totally unnecessary. How many houses and boats and personal property has the government stolen from its citizens? I am sure Budweiser and Dupont and all of the pharm companies are lobbying like crazy as we speak buying our elected officials golf trips to Scotland and letting them borrow their ferraris and vacation homes.

Quite possibly one of the worst films I've seen in a while. The script is terrible, acting is boring and not to mention the bad cinematography and editing. To top it all off we have the objectification of all the women in this film who's only value are their naked bodies. Don't watch this garbage

Written and directed by John Stockwell (who played the friendly jock in Christine), the film stars that chubby dweeb from Project X and tells the supposed true story about an 18-year-old pizza delivery boy who becomes a marijuana trafficker in Canada with his better looking friend (played by the guy who starred in that Footloose remake) for profit. If I had one word to describe the movie, it would be 'insufferable'. What I hated the most about the film is the portrayal of women. Now I don't mean to come off as a soyboy, but almost every female in this is literally portrayed as an object; they're either there for a male character to sleep with or there simply for the male viewers to drool over. What I'm trying to say is that not one written female has a character arc; it's almost as if the script was written by an incel. Lastly, a lot of filmmakers still think that having an actor drop an F-bomb in a comedy every five seconds automatically makes said comedy funny; news flash, it doesn't. Furthermore, the direction of the film is hit or miss, the acting is hardly on point, and the jokes are, there I say, dead on arrival. I am absolutely baffled by the high rating and praise this movie's gotten. Unless you are a sexually frustrated adult (or a teenager who is still in high school), do not waist your time on this tripe.

Theme about the youngsters are always soaring with high commercial elements with lots of comedy that hardly brings any smile on us. This was one of the teen movie based on the true story of the two friends which is mostly uninspiring, but a well told story. The young actor from one of my favorite teen movie 'Project X' was incredibly good. He's really showing some characters that he may become a valuable property in the Hollywood in the near future. He also reminds me a crossover outcome of Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill. Well the story was about two school dropouts who decide to do business on marijuana import-export. Since it is not illegal in the nearby place to their's across the border, they draw a master plan to execute and succeeds and what comes later is you've to see. Actually, one of a better movie told from the negative side of the social welfare. So good to enjoy the film, but not to follow it.

Movies based on a true story always have more of my attention then others. And when they are well made like this one then you can't go wrong watching it. The story of a couple of potheads trying to make money by importing top of the league marijuana from Canada to the United States. An easy but also dangerous way of getting rich in no time. They should stop when they had enough but once you get so much money you only want more. It makes you wonder why the government doesn't just legalize the whole thing and make a sh*tload of money out of it. Plus it's just weed, nothing bad at all about that, not like alcohol that destroys more lives then you could imagine. Anyways, I enjoyed the whole movie, all actors were good and the story was good as well. I recommend it!

I didn't expect much from this film, but I was surprised. It was funny and the story was good for a drug run film based on a true story. I liked the lead actors lethargic style, it suited the character. It's not up with the best "drug runner" films but it's more comedic and that it's based on a true story is even more hilarious. There are a lot worse movies out there. This is a good yarn and funny. You will not be bored and it's well directed. Spoiler Alert: I like that he's a stand up guy. Quote I love best from the movie: "It's only Pot".

Here is your average stoner movie Mixed in with a little bit of what not to do if you sell drugs, the movie has some if not all scenes where drug use is exhibited. The start as usual is slow, however once the user gets into the movie it's like a really good book that you can't keep away from. Based on away true story the movie has its high and low moments along with a lot of comedy and nudity involved. Worth the hour and forty minutes of anyone's time. Mixing a bit of the wolf of wall Street and project X this movie makes the perfect stoner party ready for all. New actors play suitable roles, hopefully going onto better brighter things, Just like pain in gain this movie takes a serious real life situation and brings comedy and makes a good Hollywood blockbuster out of it

For a topic such as illegal drug smuggling, the producers dealt with it in a very intricate and almost educational way. It was very well put together. It of course contains the elements you would expect from such a movie. These being partying, drugs (and lots of it) and sex, but when it gets to the more serious topics at hand such as how this kind of behavior and greed can take hold and get the better of people and just how serious the consequences can be, you begin so realize that it's not just a stupid comedy and that is actually has some depth to it. Movies that are based on true events always get my attention and instantly seem to make it worth watching even more. It was nice to see Kenny Wormald play a completely different character. The last time I saw him, he was in the new Footloose. Completely different style but he pulled both off really well. All in all, Kid Cannabis kept me interested and entertained for the most part, the acting was very believable and I recommend you give a watch. It's not for everyone but I'm sure you'll find some aspect of it you like.
