The intro sequence for the "Kevin Hart: What Now?" stand-up comedy show was actually the best thing about the entire show. Why is that? Well, because Kevin Hart wasn't really overly funny during the stand-up routine. Sure, there were a laugh to be had here and there, but it just wasn't an all together funny show from start to end. Some of the jokes were just dragged on for far too long, which sort of killed off the momentum and the joke itself. Kevin Hart does, however, look to be very natural on the stage. I had expected more than what this turned out to be, to be honest. And with having watched this 2016 stand-up show, then I am hardly inspired to go watch any of his other shows.

I am and have been a huge fan of Kevin Hart, especially in all his movies, but this was a huge fail. The most entertaining parts where the Bond theme. As for the comedy portion, I feel bad for all those who paid to fill a football stadium to see KH. I only smiled and chuckled in the last 15-20 min of the show (I did not laugh once though), and the rest was dragged out far too long and didn't make any sense. His stories where boring and not funny. Where was the punch line about the raccoon that he saw (and his dad)? He kept saying he doesn't lie in his comedy. So then he was lying about this raccoon or he was smoking some really good stuff. Showing concern for only himself and not his family is not comedy. Huge disappointment and a little loss of respect after watching what I expected to be a stomach hurting comedy. Poor Philly.. even when the cameras caught some of the audience they where like 'wtf?'. Please stick to movies Kevin, at least until you have some better, funnier, original material.

Watched the first 20 minutes of this. Want those 20 minutes back. Mundane, boring and lacking in laughs to the point where I would feel embarrassed for the guy if it wasn't so bad... How does someone lacking in talent get so far and put on such a big production...baffling. I think he spent more time on organising the props and setup of the show than actually writing material. Avoid. Shizen.

The film opens and closes very smartly as a spy spoof with Halle Berry, Don Cheadle, and Ed Helms. Kevin plays agent 0054. I was hoping the whole film would be this way, but alas this was just an add on to his recorded live performance in Philadelphia. His bits included, the raccoon, living with handicapped...a woman without a shoulder, man with no knees, his son who is ruined by private school, visiting father, airport restroom, and Starbucks. His routine works back using material from his opening, as it should. I did not enjoy the jokes as much as the audience rolling in the aisles. I didn't find his handicapped humor funny or the raccoon story the first time around. He did those bits to set up other jokes which I thought worked better. Guide: F-word.

Though What Now? was a better looking comedy movie than his last one Let Me Explain, which makes perfect sense, the comedy routine was not the sharpest Kevin Hart as done. Speaking of bigger, Kevin Hart's short sketch at the beginning of the concert was just that. Hart parodies James Bond more specifically Casino Royal and does this with special guess the lovely bond girl Halle Berry and Don Cheadele who was hilarious. Hart is pumping his superstar muscle here. The concert itself was a far bigger stage. The cool part was how some of the images behind him reflected the comedy routine. Far much going on than the pyrotechnics he gave us in Let Me Explain. But the fire he laid on us was real funny and far more inter graded into the comedy bit. Kevin Hart's gonna make you laugh, that definitely goes without saying. So if you go watch What Now? you got that, but like a Rock Star trying to keep of the momentum (of that money flow), Hart's jokes are a little too safe and generic to hit the gut like he use to. Bigger better, badder, but not funnier. http://cinemagardens.com

Kevin Hart: What Now? The next step a stand-up comedian typically takes after they become a movie star is drug overdose. Luckily, the funnyman in this comedy chose to return to his vaudevillian roots. Short statured special agent 0054 (Kevin Hart) and his astute partner (Halle Berry) enter a high-stakes poker game against a Russian terrorist. But when Hart's inept antics raise the ante, he must perform comedy in front of 50,000 fans in Philadelphia to save the day. But with all of his great achievements can Kevin still rock the mic with an R rated routine comprised of relatable topics, like race, fatherhood and wildlife? An awkward mash-up of cameo-centric spy-thriller and cable TV comedy concert, this vanity project bombs at both genres. With the former being a poorly conceived sketch and the latter lacking any decent laughs. Incidentally, stand-up comedians make the worst spies because they work top-secret material into their act. 'KEVIN HART: WHAT NOW?': Two and a Half Stars (Out of Five) Another stand-up comedy concert film starring Kevin Hart, who also co-wrote the screenplay (with Harry Ratchford and Joey Wells). It was directed by Tim Story and Leslie Small; who have also co- directed Hart's other stand-up comedy movies (Story has also worked with Hart on multiple other films as well). The movie begins with a spy skit, in which Hart plays a secret agent at an intense poker game, which leads into the concert part of the film. It's received mostly positive reviews from critics, and it performed decently at the Box Office. I found it to be mildly amusing. The film begins with Agent 0054 (Hart), on assignment for MI6, entering a poker game. He meets his partner there, Money Berry (Halle Berry), and they're confronted by a Russian crime boss (David Meunier). After things turn violent, Agent 0054 rushes off to do a stand-up comedy performance; at Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia (which Kevin Hart made history by selling out). The movie then proceeds with Hart's comedy performance. I'm not a big fan of stand-up comedy in general, unless it's really good (like Dave Chappelle). I think Kevin Hart is a hilarious actor, in most of the movies he does, but (as with most comedians) I don't think his stand-up comedy is nearly as hilarious. His jokes feel too forced to me, and they don't feel very natural (so they're not that funny, in my opinion). If you're a fan of most stand-up comedy though, or Kevin Hart as a stand-up comedian, than I'm sure you'll really like this movie.
