The movie is really fantastic and it gives the spectators a mental boost to fight for our dreams. It teaches us that even if we are loosing the game of life, we can still succeed, if we have will power in ourselves. The songs are also superb. Udit Narayan has done the magic once again in this film. Amir Khan, as always has given his best in the movie. But Ayesha Julkha has also equaled him in all respects. I really love watching the movie. I have seen it quite a number of times. I love the songs "Pehla Nasha" and "Nahi samjhe hain woh hame". The theme of the story is fantastic. A movie which can be viewed universally by all.

A story set in a scenic hill station and concerning teenagers is a treat to watch. Its amazing to see that that majority of actors who turned out to be major failures later have performed very well. Deepak tijori,Ayesha julka,Mamik,Poojabedi .......all have packed their bags today as far as acting is concerned. But for all of them it must have been a memorable performance. This goes to prove that films are directors medium.A average script with an above average director can make ordinary actors perform like stars. Hats off...Mansoor. What to say about Aamir. He is a true genius and now he has shown his facets as citizen khan. My best regards to him for his future career.

This is the story of a family. A family of a father & two young sons. About the bond between them. This is the story of a small town life. The story of sports rivalry between three colleges. Hidden inside is a simple yet powerful love story.
The small town has three schools Rajput, Xaviers, & Model school. Rajput is the college where the children of all affluent families study. Model is the underdog. Students of Model school are always teased and labelled as ragpickers by other schools. But then Model School has decided to make a name. Only one student Ratan is there who can do it. But then just before the intercollege bicycle competition he was beaten by the students of Rajput college so much that he ls left in bed. So now all is left to Sanju his younger brother who is a spoilt child. But he decides to take on the challenge and makes it.
The few things that make this movie watchable is the timing of the movie alongwith the fresh Ayesha, Aamir, the story, direction, music, photography etc.
This is one of the best movie of Ayesha Jhulka to date. The heart touching Pahla Nasha till today haunts my ears and make my legs shaking whenever i hear it.

A non-Indian friend of mine saw this (it was on really late on some British channel, surprisingly...God bless cable TV) and asked me about it and if I had seen it. And I replied to her saying that I had and I loved it. Not the performances, or anything in particular, I just love the film in general. She adored it, and is now a huge fan of Hindi movies. Judging by her reaction to it (she's usually pretty picky about her films), I would recommend this.
St. Xaviers School, Rajput School, and lastly the not so wealthy Model School have been arch rivals in sporting competitions for years. Ratanlal Verma (Mamik) is from Model School, and is the cycling star of his school. He is hoping to win the cycling championship and earn his school the respect it needs. He has pressure on his shoulders, but he is confident about the race so it isn't too bad. Ratan's main rival is the snobby Shekhar Malhotra (Deepak Tijori), from Rajput School. The race gets closer and closer, and things begin to complicate and the tension builds up. Ratan's cheeky and charming brother Sanjay (Aamir Khan) starts dating a wealthy spoiled brat of a girl Devika(Pooja Girl) from a rich school, St Annes. Sanjay makes Devika believe that he is from St. Xaviers, as he wants to impress her. Devika finds out the truth and dumps Sanjay, and at the same time his father throws him out of the house, for stealing money. All this just as the race is getting nearer and nearer...Just before the big day, Shekhar and his bratty friends beat up Ratan so bad and leave him almost dying. Ratan, devastated and in a critical condition, cannot compete in the race. Sanjay, in disgrace, and seeing his brothers' dreams shattered, vows to take a stand, and get Shekhar back...
Aamir's performance was good. I liked him in this movie. My favourite performance was by Mamik, who played Ratan. I thought he was brilliant in his role and played it with dignity and style. Deepak Tijori was an excellent villain and Pooja Bedi was decent enough in her portrayal of a rich brat. Ayesha Jhulka as Anjali was lovely - she added a lot of grace/elegance into the film.
The music was beautiful and I loved Pehla Nasha and Humse Hai Saara Jahan. All the songs were melodious and fitted in to the movie very nicely.
7 out of 10 from me.

It was a much awaited movie because of its music and I was highly entertained by it. From start till end this movie keeps you glued to your seats.
Starting from the performances...a top notch.Amir khan,Mr perfectionist, was totally remarkable. From his starting non-serious attitude to ending maturing person was tremendous.Aysha Jhulka, Pooja Bedi both gave excellent performance.Mamik as Amir' elder brother was a surprise.you cant say that that was his first movie.he looked like a seasoned performer.Deepak Tijori and his three friends all got in to their rolls with total ease.Gulbhoshan Kharbanda and Asrani were fine as always. Gahanshu and Ghora as amir's friend were adorable.
Music was one of the most attracting feature of movie especially 'PEhla Nasha' by Udit Naryan is still one of his most famous song that Put him on the top. That song competition was very hummable....Jawan ho Yaro...still refreshes me.Last but not least that Ghazal 'Rooth Ke hum Se Kahin' excellent situation and lyrics.
Technically speaking story was very interesting.it has piece of every emotion...Fun,friendship,love,routine life scenes, fight, entertainment . Direction couldn't be better....especially those cycle race scenes ...bets of the best. for me it is a 10 starer....Highly recommended

Seems to me this movie is a copy from Hollywood.
I always enjoyed this movie.
But seems like this one too has been copied.
The Hollywood movie is BREAKING AWAY 1979.
Both the movies have exactly the same theme.
Rest both are made equally well and there is no reason to miss anyone.
Just that the Hindi one should be avoided being given the credit for an original idea. But that's my view But if you know both the languages you must see both Both movies have been made keeping the cultural background of respective audience in respective countries in mind Enjoy both the movies

This movie is different from other movies because it's not just a love story- the movie is more about action and goals. Even when you feel it is a losing battle, you can still come out a winner with enough heart and hard, hard, work. The bike race is symbolic-especially for Sanjay, who finally reaches a level of maturity and realizes what needs to be done in order to prove for himself that he can do what needs to be done along with showing his family that he is capable of doing it. His understanding of his brother matures during the movie, and in the final scene, he is shown jutting past shekhar-and achieving his goal- proving that yes, jo jeeta- wohi sikandar- the one who finishes first, is the winner- fair and square.
Bottomline: This is a really good movie *****/5 stars. Also, it is probably THE Hindi movie I would recommend to people- the movie is a family film/drama that has heart and is worth watching.
