This movie is sweeter than candy. But it is a tad to long to be delicious. It's reflexions on "real life" with it's up's and down's is unbearably boring, mostly due to Cruise's soul less effort. What works here is Renée Zellwegger. Her bittersweet performance adds the very welcome drop of reality in this pretending to be realism romantic disappointment. She saves this film from being unwatchable - she and the fine dialogue together with Cuba Gooding Jr.'s perfect supporting role makes this an alright film.

It started with a promising idea but then broke into a million pieces. Uninteresting and uninspired from the late beginning to the end of the movie, this is one dud I will never watch again. Cruise does nothing for me and I find his character's actions wholly distasteful. The relationship between his character and what's-her-face (yeah, she's a memorable one in this role, all right) is tepid and the scene at the end requires a suspension of disbelief that I can't quite accommodate. Gooding's character is likeable but again, at the end...well, I just can't quite believe it.

This was another one I absolutely hated seeing at the cinema. A lame romantic comedy dressed up as something else. Cruise is at his slimiest and as for Zellweger - no thanks! The sports backdrop was of no interest to me whatsoever and I felt like I saw straight through the artificiality of this one.
