I get it. You want an American audience to see a great foreign film without bad dubbing or having to read subtitles. Sure, let's aim for that lowest common denominator. And they do! They aim right for the mouth breathers among us and hit a bullseye by taking out everything risky, terrifying, grisly, and intense about the original film, turning it into something that would play on Lifetime on a Sunday afternoon. The makers of this movie try to take out everything edgy or visceral about it to make the film as palatable to a mainstream audience as possible, but this big twist is - this went straight to VOD and bypassed theaters altogether. It was released straight to horror fans who have mostly been appalled by how tame and neutered it feels in comparison to the original. You have to wonder who these people are making these remakes for. Laura Herring and Rachel Nichols are good actresses. How did they end up in this mess? Was the script they read better?

I couldn't wait for this move to finish to review it. Nothing that happen made any sense. none of the characters decisions made any sense just because they want to drag it along 1. When the mother and the neighbor both find the woman in the house and it was confirmed that it wasn't Sarah mother why didn't the neighbor call the cops before going back in the house especially since here mother already went to check on Sarah. Both of them died because of this 2. Brian saw Sarah out the window of the bathroom and told her his going to call her instead of coming over to see whats wrong. Why would she be waving at you from the window if she had her phone? and he know shes pregnant. He died because of this 3.The cops came the first one realize that the woman wasn't Sarah instead of him telling his partner whats up he rushes into the house. She stabs him in the cheek. Why didn't he call back up or said officer down? Instead of reaching for his gun and shoot her he went ahead and tried to struggle her. He died 4. His partner came inside looking scared and saw the blood once again didnt radio immediately. Then instead of putting Sarah in the car with handcuffs since she was suspicious of her she took her upstairs with her with the woman then left her alone. She dies and Sarah is once again in danger 5. Sarah gets in the police car. instead of driving away when she got to safety and call the cops she locks the door and call the cops like the windows cant be broken. They fight and she crashes again surprisingly surviving. She magically appear by the woman's house 6. In the pool Sarah was drowning the woman saves her but then she dies. Why not cut out the baby out her stomach and take it. this movie was just stupid I was venting with my friends about it

While I might not be a police friendly type of person(had run ins with them just because of my complexion), but the CPD isn't at all that stupid. I nearly turned it off after the first cops who just do a walk around her house. The CPD would send multiple cars to a possible scene. I have never seen the CPD go up to someone's house BY THEMSELVES, while the partner hangs back. By the time the second cop gets it , there would have been 1 maybe two other squad cars arriving at the scene. I know for a fact that the neighbors would've came outside to see what's going on. When Sara radio's the cops from inside the police car and say that officers might be dead. The city and surrounding suburbs cops would have been on the way(think of the movie 999). Night would've turned to day with all the police lights, EMTs, and firefighters. This should've been done in Rockford IL, where they don't have a massive police department. Sara had multiple time to kill this woman, but fled over and over.

Most of the reviews that gave this film 1/10 are from persons who have seen the original. I have not seen the original and I enjoyed the film. I actually thought that this movie would be crap after I saw the rating but I ended up enjoying it. Its not the best movie in the world and there are definitely problems with it but to give a movie 1 star because it doesn't live up to the original is a bit unfair.

Plenty of times logic is thrown right out the window in favor of added suspense. A woman is trapped in a bathroom by having a dresser pushed in front of the door. The door opened inward and the dresser being in the way would not affect the way the door opened (also it wasn't just blocking the handle because it could be rotated upwards if it was the case). Multiple times (at least 3 and probably more I just blocked out) the antagonist of the movie was incapacitated and the protagonist would run away instead of finishing them off. Friends as well as law enforcement seem to lose all common sense when they interact with the antagonist. The antagonist claims to be the protagonists mother when meeting a neighbor, but the real mother arrives shortly after this. When the neighbor and mother learn that the antagonist has flat out lied the mom runs into the house and the neighbor simply asks what is really going on. This gives the antagonist ample opportunity to kill the neighbor while they are alone. Later two cops arrive. After one cop interviews the antagonist (pretending they are the protagonist) he finds out that the woman was not the owner of the house because they were not pregnant. After learning there is a strange woman in this house that already had a call earlier for a strange woman on the property, he simply walks back to the house without taking his partner with him. The cop then confronts the antagonist and does not even attempt to use a weapon to stop or detain them. The cop is then promptly killed. The other cop follows after waiting what seems like a small eternity and finds their dead partner. They head toward the upstairs portion of the house and find the protagonist hiding upstairs. At this point the antagonist cuts the power to the house and the cop leaves the protagonist alone to return power to the house. Cop dies (shocker). The second cop did the first smart thing the whole movie and attempted to radio backup for a officer down. (Apparently these cops had to walk to the scene from the other side of the county because they are nowhere in the film until the ending). The protagonist does an additional call for backup stating both cops are dead and still it seems like there is no hustle to help at a scene where fellow police have died. If you're still reading this in hopes of finding a reason that you should watch this movie I would recommend watching it for yourself just so you can add to this vast list I have already compiled.

This is one of, if not the most, awful remake I've ever seen. Do not waste your time.

A strange woman bangs on her door in the night, specifically calls her by name and lets her know that she's aware that her husband is dead and not sleeping.....and the homeowner fails to let the police know about this very important detail?! In what universe?! She just tells them "I don't know who the woman was" And the police is all "Oh it was just probably a drunk and they won't come back". Um...NO....she KNEW HER NAME AND THAT HER HUSBAND WAS DEAD!!!" That's not random. That's personal!! When she failed to tell this to the police, I was out of the movie. I love these suspense type stalker films but don't insult the viewer. Anyone would tell the police that the stranger called them specifically by name when demanding to come inside the house!! That makes the danger real and she should've gotten out of there asap. UGH. Who makes these stupid movies?!

My goodness where do I start?? The writing is awful. Some of the things that happen in this movie would never take place in real life. The fact that the lady cop saw a trail of blood leading to her dying partner and DIDNT IMMEDIATELY CALL FOR BACKUP pretty much did it for me. There are many dumb scenes before and after this, but that one takes the cake. The flaws in this movie are monstrous. Police vehicle windows are shatter proof. Alright I'm done. Please, for the love of your time, don't watch this.

Acting terrible. Cinematography may have been. I'm getting really sick and tired of idiots who can't be bothered to turn a gd light on at night... The woman who was having the baby was stupid from start to end. From her first weapon of choice, a broken mirror shard, which she should have wrapped in a towel or face cloth, to when she was using the back of the toilet... the woman put her arm through the door, best option she chose was to give her a small slice, rather than shatter her arm with the toilet back. Made no sense at all. Cops show up. The lady stabs one IN THE DOORWAY WITH the door open.. his partner is too stupid to be watching, despite him seeming real cagey about something 2 seconds prior. The whole movie was just dumb. I can't imagine anyone who didn't work for it would actually rate it higher than a 2. It was that bad.
