Let me make it simple for the readers The overall theme of the movie was above average but the way it was presented on the screen was over dramatic. The Cast was good, but no one was too good in the movie due to lack of strength in the script and the dialogue it delivered. Nayantara's selection of movie was bold. Too much cliche in the movie which makes it too obvious. Songs were completely unnecessary. Overall you can just watch it one time and then forget about it.

It was getting so boring that I stopped before midway, and read the whole story on Wikipedia. Things I didn't like in this movie: 1) They have to choose in between making a Thriller, or a Romantic movie. Intermingling both of them creates an unnecessary incongruence. 2) Not only it's too lengthy, but there is hardly any cohesion in between these two themes. You go from chasing a serial killer to love story to chasing again then back to lovey dovey, and it felt too much BS to take in. 3) If you want to create a fictitious police division acting on nabbing a serial killer, you could have had made it a little bit more sophisticated. The actions of CBI Anjali were just too stupid for movie-watchers like myself to think of this as a serious cat-and-mouse game.

I saw half the movie and there isn't a single scene which made believe that she is lead agent of a CBI unit. Such a disrespectful depiction of the agents. I mean which agent on world goes to a planned operation with five inch heels, without bulletproof jacket, no badge on her... but wait she didn't forget to wear glossy makeup and designer wear jackets. Did the director think we are stupids!! Please do some research on actual crime operations before you go on making a movie.

A good thriller needs a strong protagonist and an evenly matched antagonist to make it work. However here the antagonist is miles ahead of the clueless protagonist, a top CBI officer; played by an expressionless Nayanthara. Her idea of portraying the character of a top sleuth is to wear a perpetual frown and run around in high heels. No wonder she can't crack the case, as she seems to be more interested in her wardrobe. She displays a severe lack of imagination while dealing with the diabolical villain and keeps repeating the same tricks - an army of camera men, snipers and sleuths "surreptitiously" following the person delivering the ransom money - even though it has been established in the beginning itself that the villain thumbs his nose comfortably at these tricks. And a ridiculous romantic side plot, with some silly songs added for good measure (mainly for commercial purposes), only adds to further distract us from the plot. What's with the blatant promotion of NDTV though?

Imaikka Nodigal is a passably adroit and brilliant crime thriller with good ideas and smart moves circulating in the film.A neat execution, sharp visuals by RD Rajasekhar and enthralling background scores by Hip Hop Tamizha gave the film a lift. However, due to weak writing and an alternating screenplay pace slightly let down the film.Nayanthara shines.Atharvaa scores in his scenes. The one who deserves a special mention here is the gory and menacing antagonist,Anurag Kashyap as his screen presence and villanous act haunts the audience. Overall.Imaikka Nodigal entertains despite the drag here and there.

Imaikkaa nodigal is no better than a cléche serial killer movie. There are so much loopholes in the plot.Acting of adharva was not good and the romace scenes were terrible. I didnt see any specefic reason to cast Anurag kashyap for this film other than having a promotion.Kashyap's character was not well written and his motive turns out to be something quite silly. If you dont consider logic and if you are a hardcore Kashyap fan, you can enjoy this movie

A CBI officer goes in search of a ruthless serial killer. Things get worse when the murderer targets the former and her family Imaikka Nodigal Review: Imaikka Nodigal is another film which joins the bandwagon of thriller flicks released in Kollywood in the recent times. But it isn't just another attempt, as it has its own moments, thrills, suspense, action and emotions. Though the movie is only 10 minutes less then three hours, the plot kicks off right from the word go. There isn't any establishment scenes or spoon feeding of sorts. The very first scene conveys the mood and premise of this thriller flick - set against Bangalore, a psycho killer is having a whale of a time by finishing off people in his list. The hero (or heroine), Anjali Vikramadityan (Nayanthara), a CBI officer, is introduced quickly and her first shot has her in a serious mission. We hardly know her details or plans behind the mission, but this fast-paced narration lights up the mood interestingly. In no time, the killer's case becomes a sensational one in the city. In a press meet organised by a few top CBI officials, he himself sends messages to them and the journos that he is Rudra, the notorious killer, who the police department claimed to have killed five years ago. The cat and mouse game between Anjali and Rudra officially begins from there on. At one point, Anjali gets the shock of her life when she realises why he's after her and her family. Apart from Rudra's threat, she also has to deal with her senior officer Narayan's (Devan) ego. Meanwhile, the love story between Arjun (Atharvaa) and Kritika (Raashi Khanna) becomes a turning point in the case. The story moves forward intriguingly when Anjali, Rudra, Arjun and Kritika get involved in it. Anurag Kashyap as the menacing killer has given one of his best performances in his Kollywood debut. Like similar characters we have seen in other movies, this one, too, has an impressive back story. Nayanthara as the brainy, suave CBI officer, does justice to her role, and comes up with an arresting performance in a crucial flashback scene. Atharvaa's role is also neatly etched, and he impresses with his fights and emotional scenes. Raashi is apt in her role and Vijay Sethupathi, in a cameo, ensures that he makes an impact even in a small role. Though the film stays true to its genre, with cinematographer Rajasekar and music director Hip Hop Tamizha coming to aid, the love track between Atharvaa and Raashi, and the entire duration should have been trimmed to make it a better product. Apart from a few make-believe scenes, the director manages to keep the twists unpredictable and the thrill factor engaging till the end.
