I really don't understand the critics here. The story line is all about faith, hope and miracles. Whatever you say about the story is not relevant. As long as these Christian stories talks about God, and how He affects lives positively that's all that matters. Every anti-christian thought should be put aside. This is not an action, thriller, or romantic movie. Your rating is not needed, we know what we need to hear and see in the movie and we have seen them. This movie really gave salvation to people. So if you want to criticize it because it was not done by A-list actors, that is your problem. As far as heaven is concerned, my rating is still 10/ 10. I don't care about your opinion.

it is easy to define it as awful, but this verdict is a mistake. I am ...Gabriel has all the virtues and all the errors of an Evangelical Christian film. first, it is a film about Christian values. and it has a precise target. and the only sin remains the rush to tell the story. to present the miracle. the acting is far to be great but this could not be a real surprise. because the good point in this case remains the presence of John Schneider and Dean Cain in symbolical roles. the atmosphere, the symbols, the change of things, the new birth of community are the pillars of a film who reminds teachings and duties. so, I am ...Gabriel is far to be a revelation. only a Christian film. same recipes, same message, same remind of the essence of a life style.

Oh. My. God. This movie is so awful that making someone watch it from start to end should qualify as cruel and unusual punishment. We are not just talking an average B-film kind of bad, we are talking Mystery Science Theatre 3000 level of badness. I enjoy some Christian themed movies but this one is an insult to any serious person of faith. Some other reviewers are complaining about poor acting. While they are correct, the thing that really ruins this film is absolutely God-awful writing. Almost every line of the script (and every single line coming from the lips of the titular character) is filled with abhorrent sanctimonious pseudo-religious platitudes and nonsense. Everything that Gabriel says sounds like a grotesque idiotic caricature of genuine faith impossible to take seriously if you are over 5 years old. It does not help that the kid playing Gabriel displays all the acting skills of a wooden post. One just has to pray that he got better with age, assuming he is still in the movie business. The picture of Christian faith that the film portrays is so shallow, so impossibly sanctimonious and full of cliches and platitudes that the film would drive most viewers away from Christianity. If keeping the faith would have been as easy as having a winged boy-angel visit your town, end the multi-year draught, restore the sight of a blind girl and bring another girl who does from a drug overdose back to life, we would all be more Catholic than the Pope by now. Speaking of Catholics, I wonder where in Texas the film's writers think they can find a town where almost everybody is white, there are no hispanics and no Catholics, and everybody goes to the same protestant church. I guess all the latino, Chinese and Indian residents of the town have already been deported. When, during the climactic scene of Gabriel spending his fluffy angel-wings in the church, the service attendees almost start speaking in tongues, I almost puked. All in all, the film is more painfully atrocious than a biblical plague.

Well, movies and plays are not and should not be judged mainly by their sophistication or the lack of it. They are written with intentions, goals or objectives. Once that is achieved, a movie can be said to make sense. On this ground I highly recommend this movie, 'I am Gabriel'. From the very beginning, when I saw the quote from Chronicles on prayer, I waited to see the unfolding of such a theme. A community was facing lots of challenges, got so used to her condition, some fled in search of greener pastures, others waited, but none did the right thing until God Himself comes to their aid. All we need is faith and hope in God. It is a biblical fact that the right thing we are able to do, the grace to do those things come from God Himself. It is one theme that Christian movie makers seldom think of. The society also, thinking we can always handle our situations and all, we seldom call on GOD. It is no wonder that we do not expect Him to do anything in our midst and when He does it we view it from our lenses of 'scepticism'. I praise God for the lives of the writers and the producers of this movie. For truly, if God's children call on Him, He will heal their land.

What a terrible film - all syrupy, naive and completely shallow Christian propaganda, awful acting, terrible plot but passable camera work. Things just don't happen that way, they never have and never will. With dreadful, gloomy, depressing, dismal, dreary, awful and bleak, absolutely terrible background music, such awful cello playing. This sorry excuse of a film is totally devoid of true spirituality, it has neither depth nor meaning. This film is a total waste of time. Plan 9 from Outer Space is a blockbuster and brilliant film in comparison. That any significant number of people could fall for such tripe does not bode well for the future of America. And since when do Christians use praying mats, anyway? Do people really live such shallow and meaningless lives? The whole think reeks of immaturity and candy-floss religiosity. The closing "revelation" is trite, and everything that happens is so very predictable in this low-rate and extremely badly written plot. Don't bother watching it, you'd be better off reading a bad book instead.

It was late in the afternoon, it rains and creates some gloomy atmosphere. I'm trying to find a movie on youtube, which I wanted to set up (Gabriel from 2007). Because of the similar title, the second one appears to me, I see a blue-eyed boy who says, "I'm Gabriel" and I'm starting to watch a movie. And for the first time it happened that I was completely caught. I saw a very bad movie, the scenario is so naive and predictable, but what's happening? During the entire film I cried because he succeeded in his little and ordinary intent that he had ,to cause feelings, and wake up something in me. I don't know. Whether it was because of the rain that was falling, because of some sensitivity brought to me by this day or is this simple message given by the film, was a trigger that found the right way to my heart. The film is completely pathetic, just like this note, but whether the quality of this film is that it managed to send this little message, that we always need someone when it is difficult time for us to comfort us and that he is always there ? With his child's naivety, with his defense of what we don't see, and which we either perceive or reject in the moments of despair, a good motive from the New Testament is inserted into the film, which is reduced to one, either believing or not believing. 24 Now Thomas (also known as Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe." 26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe." 28 Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed." "The Gospel of John (John 24-29). And that's it.If you need a good motivation, honest and pure emotion-then this is a movie for you, if not, don't believe in my review today.

Great family film. Don't break a sweat about the anti-Christian freak reviews. I assure you they never even watched the film. They try to make themselves feel like somebody by running around trashing Christian films. Go figure. Better yet, just go see the movie. Has the same "feeling" as the good old days of The Waltons, Touched by an Angel and other solid family fare. It's like spending some time with good friends. The ending may or may not surprise you. I won't give it away. Good story, good acting, and a good feeling after you watch it. You'll enjoy yourself; I did.
