Let's be clear Hulk Vs is not a movie, it's a compilatation of two marvel shorts one being Hulk vs Thor and the other Hulk vs Wolverine. Both shorts are relatively well made, the first involving Loki controlling the Hulk in order to defeat Thor and crush Asgard which is decent enough and family friendly. Hulk vs Wolverine see's Logan sent in to take on the monster that has destroyed a town but there is more to the tale and we'll see Sabretooth, Deadpool, Lady Deathstrike & Omega Red join the fight. This one was surprisingly gory by comparison. Both are passable but nothing to get excited about. An actual movie featuring all these characters would have made more sense. The Good: Great fight sequences Loyal to the comics The Bad: Animation isn't great Wolverine is stupidly buff Successfully makes everyone look weak compared to Hulk One of the endings is pretty dumb

At this point the Incredible Hulk has fought just about everyone in the Marvel universe a couple of times over, here he gets to fight two - Wolverine and Thor, though as another viewer pointed out the Hulk seems to take a back seat to the other two characters. The first segment is loosely based on the very first Hulk/Wolverine match up that introduced Wolverine into the Marvel universe way back in the 1970s. We find a pre-X-Men Wolverine being dispatched to hunt down the Hulk after the Hulk apparently destroyed a small Canadian town. After the much hyped fight, they get captured by the real villains from the Weapon X Program that made Wolverine into what he is now. Long story short: Hulk & Wolvie bust loose and tear up the bad guys before getting back to their own fight. The 2nd segment finds Thor's arch enemy/relative Loki capturing the Hulk, separating Hulk from his Banner persona, and then using the Bannerless Hulk to attack Thor during the Odinsleep - when their dad King Odin is in a cycle of rest - & then conquer Asgard, with a little help from the busty blonde Amora the Enchantress, who is driven by a broken heart at having been rejected by Thor in favor of Sif. Truly Hell hath no fury like a hot Asagardian scorned. Ultimately, Thor has to brow beat Loki into helping clean up the mess he started. Overall: I wasn't impressed with the animation, which looks like it was inspired somewhat by the super square, angular look of the DCAU productions (I love DC and enjoyed the DCAU shows for the writing & voice acting, but I can't stand the animation). On the plus side, the voice acting is top notch: Steve Blum does a great job as Wolverine, while Graham McTavish & Nolan North (formerly Giant Man of the Ultimate Avenger DVDs and Cyclops for "Wolverine & The X-Men") give scene stealing turns as Loki & Deadpool, respectively. I have some mixed feelings towards Matt Wolf as Thor - although he sounded very noble & heroic, his voice didn't have quite as much power or force as I would expect Thor to have, something that previous Thors John Rhys Davies & David Boat did very well (another Thor actor, Michael Adamthwaite of Next Avengers, appears he as well as Balder the Brave). The action sequences are impressive, though Thor seems to get beaten a bit too easily in the first fight. Yes, I know, it was the savage Hulk, but Thor seemed to give up after his initial lightning attack, making no real effort to use strategy over brute force and most of Asgard's inhabitants didn't fair much better. And these are centuries old beings who have fought just about every monstrosity there is! Still, worth a look for fans. Hulk fans will truly relish watching their not so jolly green giant destroy everything in his path.

Irreproachable, incredible, the best animated movie i have ever seen. This movie takes your breath. I can say that there are so many fights where they are not allow you to get boring. I enjoyed watching wolverine fighting with his archenemies and finally hulk kick their ass. I think it was good idea to combine and this archenemies to the storyline instead of just see a fight between hulk and wolverine. About Hulk vs Thor i find a point that disappointed me. Thor has equal power with Hulk. So i was expecting to see an equal fight but instead of this i saw Hulk to win. OK the plot was too good. The first part is in Wolverine's universe and second part is in Thor's universe, but both parts have only one common person which is hulk. So if you are a fun of hulk you will enjoy it. If you are a fun of Wolverine you will enjoy it too because Wolverine do not loose any fight and Hulk as well. But if you are a fun of Thor maybe you will be disappointed.

In two stories Hulk's power is pitted against two other Marvel superheroes. In the first film Thor is targeted by the evil Loki, who harnesses the power of Hulk to destroy Thor, only to find that the beast is harder to control than first though. In the second story Wolverine is called in by the military to deal with an out of control Hulk, only to find he has more familiar problems to face. I'm not a massive fan of Marvel characters generally but a friend sent me this DVD thinking I would like it so I figured I should be polite and accept the gift. Personally my preference is for darker, more adult stuff from my comic books but I can enjoy this sort of thing to as long as it is well done. It will be a matter of personal taste but for my money hulk is a pretty weak character that the last two film version have shown to be difficult to do much with other than produce big noisy effect sequences. This is the case here again as, although he is the title character, both of the films really belong to the other characters. This therefore makes it more a matter of whether or not you like the two characters. Thor never worked for me as a character and I never liked the world of Nordic Gods or Thor as a character – not helped either by how colourful and clean he is. The Thor film is pretty weak as it is based heavily in this world and filled with lots of "thee" and "thou" dialogue that just seems silly. The action sequences are simple enough but the plot didn't engage me and just seemed to be noisy and pointless stuff. I guess this is very much personal taste and some will love it but for me the saving grace of the DVD was the second film. I am sure there are people who do not like Wolverine as a character but I am yet to meet them and this film reflects the style of the character that I have come to know through the odd comic book and the films. The story here is better and the setting of the military industrial complex as the background is a lot less silly. It helps that this film also has real action with violence, thrills and urgency. The animation is also better as, although it is the same US-TV style, there is more blood and more shading than in the Thor film. I also liked the cast a lot more here and, like everyone says, the inclusion of Deadpool was a great thing that gave great comedic relief throughout the film. Hulk V's is an enjoyable DVD though but for my money it is limited by the first of the two films. The Thor one is too simple and filled with characters, scenarios and dialogue that I just didn't like. This is not the fault of the film though because I just don't get Thor generally so for those that do the film will play differently. The Wolverine film is worth it though as it is darker, has a better story, better action, more humour and just a good amount of "edge" to it that makes it more than cartoons of pumping up things hitting one another. Fans will lap it up no doubt but to me the DVD is good enough for the casual viewer thanks to the Wolverine film.

First off let me say the animation and art quality of both of these movies is pathetic in the extreme. The level of work that went into creating these movies is pretty low and it shows big time. Shading is sloppy, figures are unrealistic/not in perspective, bad physics, etc.. if you have ever seen some of the art in the actual comics you know what a downgrade watching these hastily made poorly drawn movies are. Then comes the dialog which is overacted and unconvincing/bad casting. Wolverine was bland, Thor was even more bland. Then take attention to storyline- most of the little details about these famous characters are left out making them all come off very bland and boring. A terrible boring script with absolutely wretched art quality- you have a double feature of stink. I hope the trend of doing this sort of pathetic animation dies the death it deserves so we can make way for some artists with some TALENT.

I was very surprised by these two animated installments. There's no point in giving anything away here, but I have to say this: both Thor and Wolverine stories are really well done, the animation looks great and first of all, they really nailed it when it comes to atmosphere in these two, especially during Hulks arrival in Asgard. The way he makes his entrance is just awesome and I keep wondering why Marvel seems to fail again and again when it comes to bringing such moments on the big screen. In my opinion, both Iron Man and Hulk flicks of 2008 were just average, filled with clichés and the oh-not-again Doppelganger showdowns. But when it comes to animated flicks, they somehow manage to get it right, like they did with Ultimate Avengers 1 & 2. I'll rate this 10 out of 10, hoping to see as many more similar installments as possible. For several reasons I liked the Thor story better, it was more mystical and emotional so to speak, and they really should put out a stand-alone Thor animated flick in the near future. Until then, hail to Dr. Banner, hero of Midgard! Rent it, buy it, own it. Encourage it, so we can get more stuff like this in the future!

I am not going to deal with the plot as that has been discussed by others. This is probably the first time outside of the comic books that The Hulk is portrayed as a savage, murderous, out of control monster. The fight scenes in both movies are outstanding and very violent. The voice acting is tremendous with Graham McTavish stealing the show as Loki. My main criticism is the horribly angular style of animation, popularised in the Warner Brothers Batman cartoons, of the Hulk vs Thor film. The animation in both movies is below par, it has a cheap, low rent feel in stark contract to the outstanding Dr Strange and Iron Man cartoons.
