Slow love triangle movie involving a bonkers Swedish woman, a drippy Jack Whitehall lookalike and a pretty but dull English girl. Set in England and France told in flashback and present modes involving three months. .The Swedish girl was the stand out. She was suitable nutbox. Story meandered. That guy was a total toolbox and looked like a hobo. Passable but not that interesting.

A movie that takes its time. A low budget movie that is about relationships ... and about someone who seems in a place that isn't good for her or anyone around her. And yet she is able to help another person who is in grief. But does she have any other motives? I'll leave it at that, although I reckon the movie is easy to read and predict.
Still the actors do a fine job with the characters and the story they are being served. The inevitable outcome is ok, but nothing that should rock to your core I would say. If you like human dramas and have a heart for independent movies this is for you

Hollow script, lame acting, story goes nowhere, it's not even dreamlike, there's nothing to be enjoyed in this most absurd piece of cinema.

How You Look At Me has a rough initial 10 minutes, but once the first act kicks into place, you are on a beautiful, heartbreaking and potentially hopeless journey wrapped into a unique time-defying story telling approach.
The film follows three characters that fall in and out of love with each other. The way this characters intertwine and affect each others life is ultimately relatable. The rules on love that we were raised by have all been re-written. And our three characters are at loss on what can really be considered a healthy relationship, based on modern standards.
The film jumps between the bustling, urban London and the beautiful, sunny french countryside across several months effortlessly. The juxtaposition of "Nature AND Nurture" directly impacting our decisions is subtly interwoven into the stunning cinematography.
It is a shoe string indie, and at times, it shows. But at times it also dazzled and wowed me in ways you don't often see.
Highly recommended for that rainy day indie itch!

I sometimes stumble across a film that takes me by complete surprise. How You Look At Me popped up on my Amazon and it was raining so there you go. Why not! It is only 80 Minutes.
I was unsure at the beginning, but by the end I was pulled through so many emotions I don't even know where to begin.
Mia, beautifully played by Anna Astrom (who I haven't seen in films before, but she was captivating) crashes into the lives of a couple that is emotionally and physically distant. Her intentions aren't clear and the film skilfully treads between a romance and a thriller. Once you piece the chronology together, the relationships start to fold in on themselves.
A big nod here also to the music! Moody and brooding it sets the tone of the film, only to build into a fast paced melody by the end of the film.
When I checked on IMDB I saw that it had all these 1 star reviews and it really surprised me. The film is not without its flaws, but it kept me surprised and emotionally invested in all of the characters in ways no Hollywood film is able to. More of this please!
