House III

I waited a long time to see a third House movie, and once I heard it was called The Horror Show, I had to rent it. The Horror Show is a pretty cool film.True it has no relation to House, but neither did the second, or fourth ones, and they were still good. Brian James makes a great bad guy.Good story, and o.k. acting.*** out of *****.

Director James Issac who also created another classic flick, Pig Hunt 2008 has created another gem in The Horror Show. Starring Lance Henriksen who has also been in other classic flicks, Bone Dry 2007, Abominable 2006, AVP: Alien vs. Predator 2004, One Point O 2004, Mimic: Sentinel 2003, Dead Man 1995, Hard Target 1993, Stone Cold 1991, Hit List 1989, Pumpkinhead 1988, Near Dark 1987, Aliens 1986, The Terminator 1984, The Right Stuff 1983 and Close Encounters of the Third Kind 1977. Also starring Brion James who has also been in other classic flicks, The Underground 1997, Steel Frontier 1995, Nemesis 1992, Silverado 1985, Blade Runner 1982 and Southern Comfort 1981. Also starring Rita Taggart. I enjoyed the special effects. this is a shocker rip off but it's not bad its basically just a slasher though Lance Henriksen is good as always but very is not one second and thought he was a bit too corny for my liking second of all a meat cleaver?????? how threatning is that well yes other horror villians use them but and it does work but not for a whole damn movie and the script is decent but the ending is lame and it is never scary it is actually pretty cheesy but most of the family is amiable and there is a bit of blood flow but like i said i wasnt that impressed with it yes it was watchable and fairly entertaining it's just there so overall its worth a watch on cable maybe if ya have ntohing else to rent but it's nothing special ** out of 5

The Horror Show

This 1989 horror film stars Lance Henriksen and Brion James. This tells of police detective, Lucas McCarthy (Henriksen) who is having nightmares about a psychotic killer, Max Jenke (James) he captured. Max is sent to the electric chair, but his soul returns to terrorize McCarthy and his family. This isn't bad, it's got bizarre, cheesy and suspenseful moments, There's gruesome make-up effects, Henriksen is great in it, The late, James is creepy and Harry Manfredini's score is eerie as usual. The film resembles "Shocker" and is also known as "House III" & "Horror House" overseas. If you enjoy horror flicks, give this one a try.

House III The Horror Show is a very unique film to the house franchise I like how this one takes a very different turn like house II and this one is actually good it has a lot of blood and gore sure the puppets aren't very good like the first II but they still hold up for 1989 I've seen worse stuff than this film but I don't like on some dvds or poster it has the psycho house on it but, it is still pretty good though.

Lovely little horror Flick! Never understood why/how this was connected to the House movies. Same as Halloween 3 was completely out of place in that franchise.

The third part of the low-budget "House" series is marginally better than the previous two, thanks mostly to a more serious approach (though not without moments of wicked black humor), and to an enjoyable performance by Brion James in the tailor-made role of the ultra-mad, ultra-vicious villain. No great shakes, but thoroughly watchable. (**)
