I had low expectations for this, and after watching it, I really just think they should have put more effort & money into it.
You won't see the gore that was in the first 2 movies, mostly just splattering blood, but the story and change of scenery was a nice twist.
The lower budget is evident. I thought the acting was fine except for a couple over-the-top performances. The first half set up was good, but the second half just seemed rushed. Maybe they were running out of money.
I thought they should have expanded on the new Las Vegas Hunting Club set up a lot more. Was it purely for betting purposes? Were the Hunters paid to perform or were they paying to kill as in the first movies?
The first kill had potential, but it felt unfinished... The second kill made no sense at all. The third one screamed for a higher budget...
Someone once said that they don't understand why they are remaking great movies, what they should be doing is remaking not so good movies. This is a candidate for the latter.

It was okay, let's face it, we've seen it all
Before 2 times. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It was really stupid.

Hostel: Part III was released a few years after the torture sub-genre lost its popularity with audiences. Many people blamed Hostel: Part II (which bombed) but the truth is that the torture craze (much like the self-referential slasher craze before it) was dying off. It could only sustain for so long. Which makes me wonder why the filmmakers wanted to make a third film. The absence of Eli Roth's masterful direction is definitely to the movie's detriment. This second sequel is far less gruesome than the others. Though it has some interesting ideas (the "murder casino" comes to mind) and a couple of pretty cool twists, the novelty of the first two movies has worn off. It just comes across as unnecessary.

This review contains Spoilers! Where to start...it is pretty common to have characters in horror movies who frequently make poor decisions, say spend a weekend at a haunted camp ground or have a picnic in hillbilly infested woods. That being said, the characters in this film all seem to be mildly retarded. These are possibly the dumbest most naive group of idiots I have ever seen in a horror movie. So one by one these dummies get captured and one by one they are executed but this time...GASP...it's in front of an audience who place bets on type of executions and the victims pleas. So one twist leads to another twist which leads to someone being killed which leads to another twist which leads to the person we thought was killed to be apparently not that hurt by a butcher knife....which leads to another twist which....Oh god did M Knight Shymalan direct this mess? Booerns sir, Booerns.

I repeat, utterly ridiculous. I actually love part 1, thought part 2 was ok, but this is total nonsense. Avoid.

Just terrible, and not even in a funny human centipede 2 kind of way, there are no redeeming qualities to this.. just piece of crap, and I'm not saying that in its relation to the first two, terrible acting terrible, terrible delivery, terrible acting, terrible effects, possibly one of the stupidest and unbelievable plot twists ever. Just one of the worst things I've seen as a follow up to two great films, the first being one of my favorite horror movies of all time. I genuinely don't understand why this is called hostel, when its a completely different concept. I would suggest watching the first two instead.
