Teaming up with her is her sister Joyce, a news reporter; Dragon, Tracy's partner in Hong Kong, and Jake, a bodyguard who worked for Slade. Can they stop Slade before it's too late? ... With Honor and Glory you get a simplistic plot, amateur acting, simplistic dialogue that has a hint of self-aware humour especially when it comes to the main villain, who is really over top, sprouts dialogues like "Do you know a nuclear trigger from a Bulgarian *? I don't." "I thought you lived by the law of the fist too Armstrong, but you're just a damn cherry!". Unfortunately, mediocrity is ripe in this Rothrock entry, and in addition to some quirky dialogue, some decent spin kicks and punches can keep this watchable.

A female FBI agent, Tracy Pride (Cynthia Rothrock), and her overachieving reporter sister, Joyce Pride (Donna Jason), have their sights set on taking down a corrupt banker who just happens to have a nuclear triggering device he's going to sell to the highest bidder. If Honor and Glory wasn't so ridiculously funny, it might be one of the worst movies I'd ever seen. Fortunately, it's a deliciously hysterical mess of a movie. Godfrey Ho has managed to craft the most amazingly spastic movie imaginable. The writing, directing, and editing all seem like they were handled by a chipmunk on speed. How else do you explain a slap-fight for keys and a chopstick battle over green beans? Characters do and say the most ludicrous things. The abrupt nature of the laugh-out-loud fight scene with Joyce and a senator's daughter being a prime example. As for the plot - well forget about it. Ho certainly did. But the best (or is that worst?) thing Honor and Glory has going for it is chief baddie, Jason Slade (John Miller). Over-the-top doesn't begin to describe this butt-kicking banker. I suggest you sit back and enjoy - especially his jaw-dropping monologue, "I have arrived at the top of the world. No man has control of more money. No man can fight me and live. No woman can share my bed and not be mine for life. I am like a god! I piss on you, from a great height." Just amazing! Given this is a Cynthia Rothrock movie, you're probably expecting a heavy dose of fight sequences. If so, you're in luck. Not all are great, but the scenes featuring Chuck Jeffreys are a highlight. As for Rothrock, I've never been much of a fan of her on-screen fighting. There's no doubting she has the technical skills, but for whatever reason, it doesn't always translate well to film. As I said, this isn't at all a "good" movie. Regardless, I find it entertaining enough to give a 6/10. 6/10

(I can't decide if I'd want a universe in which seemingly everyone (even random, angry hecklers) knows martial arts or if that would be awful. I guess it couldn't be any worse than what we have now, so why not?) It's easy entertainment that you don't have to pay much attention to during chores. And, really, that's the best thing I can say about it, aside from appreciating it having a diverse cast. The actor playing the villain is laughably bad, but props to the attempt, anyway. It's definitely not good, but at least it's inoffensively entertaining in that you don't feel insulted by its badness but can instead have a chuckle and go on about your business and likely never think of this film again.

Known as Zong heng tian xia, this was directed by Godfrey Ho and written by one and done screenwriter Herb Borkland. It stars Cynthia Rothrock as FBI agent Tracy Pride, who like many a Rothrock character is hunting an evil banker. She's also backed up by her sister Joyce (Donna Jason, who was also the film's assistant director) and their CIA agent father John (Leo Rocca). It also has a guy named Jake (Chuck Jeffreys) who is supposed to be a Bevery Hills Cop-era Eddie Murphy. The banker is Jason Slade (John Miller), a banker so evil that he blows off a prayer breakfast with Ronald Reagan. The sisters get the name of the movie into their dialogue, as Tracy says to Joyce, "I chase honor, you chase glory." How this wasn't called Pride and Glory makes no sense. More movies need to have their title said in the movie because I celebrate it every single time that it happens. I'm just amazed that Godfrey Ho made an entire movie without taking footage from another movie.

To appreciate this movie on its own merits requires a certain measure of generosity. Decidedly low-budget and astoundingly ham-handed, 'Honor and glory' is made with easygoing care for fun and martial arts, and active disregard for authenticity in the plot or dialogue. Pretty much every passing scene is ridiculous and over the top in one way or another, whether it's wholly extraneous flourishes added on top, bare-faced plainspokenness in lines, their delivery, or scene writing, or a cheeky excess of martial arts inserted wherever possible. I can understand why this would go on to be lampooned by RiffTrax, as the feature is filled from top to bottom with tomfoolery that just has to be seen to be believed. Yet it's also clear to me that however absurd it may be, this is a picture that was only ever intended for gauche, tongue-in-cheek silliness. And that it is - I can't help myself, this is a really great time! Witness: Cynthia Rothrock gets top billing, but sometimes it seems like she doesn't have as much time on screen as her co-stars. Characters talk to themselves as if to fill in the audience on the goings-on, and Rothrock's character Tracey at one point refers to herself as "an FBI" (NOT an "FBI agent"). A random henchman bears a surprising resemblance to a taller Fran Kranz. Every character on hand, but especially Tracey's sister Joyce (Donna Jason), revels in using fancy moves for the most preposterously mundane of activities, like... answering a phone. A scene of training is needlessly sped up to make the forms seem more intense; one specific costume, from out of nowhere, is designed with one small portion that fails to match the rest. And among still many other peculiarities, Todd M. Hahn's oddly playful score does fit the bill, varying slightly to fit the mood, but always feels like second-tier compositions below even the level of this conscious buffoonery - and, I must assume, deliberately so. For all the marvelous nonsense herein, I'll say this much: Herb Borkland's screenplay boasts a coherent, cohesive narrative. Wonderfully exaggerated characters, and scene writing and dialogue that has no illusions of being something it's not. 'Honor and glory' seems to be Borkland's only screen credit, but I dare say it's a good one. Director Godfrey Ho carries a noteworthy volume of work under his belt, and obviously has the experience and intelligence to lean into the pomposity and let these shenanigans be all that they could be - bless his heart. In that same spirit, the cast fully embraces the roles they're given, and the bizarre energy that so brazenly defines the title. Rothrock, Jason, John Miller, Chuck Jeffreys, Gerald Klein, Yip Yim Hing, and everyone else before the camera drops all pretense and grandiosity and lets themselves indulge in every last ounce of wild, heightened ludicrousness. And it's an absolute delight! The technical craft and rounding details of the picture, and the contributions of those behind the scenes, are quite competent. The stuntwork and fight choreography is genuinely terrific, and whatever else may be true of Godfrey Ho, he knows quite well how to film martial arts action. It's an incredible understatement to say this movie is quirky, but all things considered, I can't imagine watching this and not walking away with at least a bemused smile on your face. I laughed a lot while I sat for it, not out of mockery, but out of earnest enjoyment or perhaps disbelief. I entered with at best mixed expectations, and am ever so pleased to say I had a blast. 'Honor and glory' occupies a very particular niche space, and only those receptive to the most outlandish of B-movies are likely to find favor here as I did. But if anything I've described has piqued your interest, then kick back, relax, and get ready for some superbly entertaining, highfalutin baloney!

This is not a 4.1. Its at worst a 5.5. I mean thats if you don't like action flicks and the corny dressing and the dialogue they have. Then i can see at its worst to give it a 5.5. But with that said I'm giving it a 7. I mean its still corny, it still has some really cheesy lines (even for me which i watch and like these movies). If you like Cynthia, and action kicks and cheese 80's/90s movies you will like this a lot. But the main bad guy slade (john miller) is over the top awesome. For minute i just thought oh no they got another college boy with slick back hair playing a talented fighter. Then he took his shirt off and got to work on some of those people on the set. Plus the lines he was saying were funny and he delivered them well. HIs character is what made this entertaining. When i first saw this movie I thought Cynthia Rothrock was going to be the main character. Heck Im not if she was even the no 4 on the list. The black dude had some major roles in this film. Which back then was a little surprising. They started out with the typical body guard. Seen it before a thousand times. But my girlfriend and I watched it and realized he was flirting with the main girl. We definitely were shocked. Most of these movies unfortunately would never have a plot with a black man having eyes for the main character. And she reciprocate it. So that to us was truly before its time. I really don't have much to say about both females in this movie. Their acting was all over the place and not really well written. Im a huge fan of cynthia but very few fight scenes worth mentioning and not many one liners. I will say the main woman reporter kicking that can in that woman face made us laugh. Overall this movie was funny very underrated. And the people who probably wrote those low ratings were actual movie critics who really have no idea and aren't fans of movies like this. And thank you for this generation developing all these sites so i can watch the movie legally on their site for free. Cause there was so many of these made i am sure i missed a lot of them.

This film is pretty much an incomprehensible mess, where occasionally some martial arts action takes place. Between the sudden outbursts of karate we get people preparing dinner, characters with no backstory who suddenly are intricate to the plot, a moving van moving what is none of our business and a bad guy who is such a super fighter he can put a cigar out on his hand! Yes, we are in for a lot of excess, too bad it makes for such a bad film. Somewhat enjoyable to watch, but they really had too many characters for a film with so little depth. The story, who knows what it is other than there is a nuclear device that has been stolen! Meanwhile, a news reporter suddenly gets attacked after a story by a knife wielding woman and this is not newsworthy. This reporter hates her father, but loves her sister played by Cynthia Rothrock who gets top billing, but is not in this one that much because there is also bodyguard who regrets his life decisions, goofy karate guy who is referred to as boy despite looking quite old and owning a very large house, an old master whose name sounds like Sea Food, an Asian good guy that dislikes Asian bad guy and Asian bad guy that hates Asian good guy whose story is never revealed and the father who is CIA and is working to stop Slade the bad guy it takes four of the heroes to try and beat down in an incomplete finale! Yeah, this film has too much going on for what it is. As I said, Cynthia is the top billed person and the only person I recognize other than the bodyguard, but I only recognize him because he looks like great value Eddie Murphy. The bad guy is shown as being tough as nails and the final fight with him just ends on a head scratching moment...makes me wonder if there is a Honor and Glory 2 because it is obvious they were planning to make one. Part of me wonders if this is a sequel to something as there are things that seem to be suggesting characters know each other from something else and that we the audience should already know what it is. The fighting is not all that good, I've seen Cynthia do a lot better as her cute, "Hi Ya!" is noticeably missing in this one and too much focus is on everybody but her, yet she is supposedly the star. Seems more like she is just kind of there. So, not as good as other films I have seen her in, worth a chuckle or two, but in the end it just kind of goes limp at the finish line.

Like a lot of the martial arts movies of the early 90s,, this is terrible. Lol,, the rifftrax version makes it better though.
