This is one of my favorite family movies. Loved it when I was little and it still holds up with me now that I'm older. I still laugh at all the same old jokes and might even shed a tear a times. I never have much cared for animals talking, or at least UN-animated ones but this one I'll stand up for. It's a pretty old movie but it will always hold a place in my heart. There aren't any other live animal movies that I can think of at the moment that I even could compare with, let alone like as much as this one. I might be giving too much praise to this movie but I don't think show. I really holds that great message that" Home is where the heart is." Or at least that's the message I gained from it. Definitely recommended for a good old family movie night.

This is definitely one of the greatest family films to watch with your family. It has good humor, a good plot, and some heartwarming scenes. The dogs and cats in this movie are remarkable. I had no idea that a cat could be trained to do some of the things that Sassy did in this movie. It is amazing. Three pets are left for an owner of a farm to take care of when the family is away. After a couple of days and the owners do not come back because it would take more time to get back to the farm than they thought the animals go on a journey to find home again. They encounter perils. Bears, waterfalls, and mountain lions. They are found by people. They are sent by to the pound. Their family finds that out. When they go to pick them out the animals break out to get home. The family goes back home. In the end the animals get back to their house. This is one of the best live-action Disney films out there. 9/10

It took me to the times when I had pets and they actually formed an integral part of my life ! The best part of the movie is it's majestic panorama - pine forests, clear streams, undisturbed stretches of open fields and grandeur of the mountains - I haven't searched about where this film was shot but will find it soon. An old craving to make a vagabond amidst nature popped up again ! Having experienced the psyche of cats and dogs closely, I enjoyed the depiction.Though cats are not as emotional as Sassy,it feels good to see it that way.Chance is a typical pup which appeals directly due to it's raw innocence.Shadow,on the contrary, adds much of the emotional flavor the movie has. All in all,the movie is a win.Only one sad thing struck my mind - I doubt if the future generations will ever experience an idyllic, artless childhood amidst a calm nature !!!

I love this movie, I think it's because of the cat sassy, She won my heart, She is soooo adorable. I love the part when they were in the pound and Sassy had to save them!!! She was sooooo cute in that part, I will never forget this movie or any of the charactors (Especially Sassy!)

This is a sweet movie with themes of friendship, perseverance, love, loyalty and dedication. It is comedic and heartwarming, completely clean, and ultimately everything works out well in the end. However, the scenes of peril for two of the main animal characters are entirely too realistic, with gaps that are too long between the apparent death/loss of each of those two main animal characters and the ultimate happy reunion/resolution for each. Some suspense is important for storytelling, but this was entirely too much for a young, or even older, more sensitive child.

Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey is a solid remake to the original film. While not as good as the original with the comedy and the dialogue, but at least the heart was able to help redeem this movie. The cinematography is great and shows the environment of nature. The characters are fine on their own, even if Chance can get annoying. And there are instances that can make it enjoyable. This can be a good option for those that enjoy animal films. But as this is intended to be more family friendly than the original with the dialogue, it would also be for kids that love pets and have them as family members. Maybe it's not exactly the incredible journey, but at least it has some nice effort as a remake.

This is one of the greatest child-pet movies ever created. I cry every time I see Shadow yelling "Wait, wait for me Peter!" as the family car is pulling away. This is a must see if you love animals! Best Movie Ever! The lines in the movie are sometimes stupid. Like when Sassy says to Chance; "Cat's Rule and dogs drool!" Lines like this I could do without, but when I was six I bet I loved that line. The storyline may seem hooky to some, but I like it. Shadow as the older dog who's preparing Chance to take over for him when he's gone is really moving when you think about it. It reminded me of my childhood dog. I think everyone can find a piece of themselves in "Homeward Bound."
