If you are in need of cheering up , or just want a good laugh, then this movie is for you ! Great entertainment , but for the wrong reasons .
Do watch if, you want to see some seriously bad acting, bad directing, listen to some terrible background music throughout, and lastly, listen to a really bad script , not to mention that the storyline itself is just ridiculous ! I think that I have covered everything here, but, even though it was SO bad I still watched it through to the end, just because it was so hilarious.
I wont advise you NOT to watch it , as I said before, go for it if you need a good laugh !!

This is THE worst movie I've ever tried to watch! I only came here to see if it was a cheesy Lifetime movie. The "acting" was so bad... Not ONE real actor in the bunch!! I think ripping out my fingernails would have been more entertaining than this piece of crap. The plot uis so predictable and the storyline... wait storyline??? DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SKIP THIS ONE... then you can thank me!!

Okay. To begin, I initially saw this film on Channel 5. Which I know meant that it couldn't be that great, because Channel 5 always puts on trash films that never make it onto SkyStore, Netflix, AmazonPrime, etc. So I didn't expect much from it. But I always enjoy a good thriller, so I was looking forward to watching it nevertheless.
Now the plotline was better then I expected, and everyone else seems to be stating that they have seen these types of plotlines many times before in other films, but I thought it was pretty original and highly engaging; A troubled young woman with a background of frightening health problems, and whilst she is healthy again she rents a room in a what appears to be a lovely landlord. But she has an odd fixation on keeping her renters sick, so she can take care of them, to cure her deep guilt of failing to keep her now-deceased daughter alive. She stalks the renters' personal lives and keeps them ill so they need her for medicinal help. Very confusing at times, but altogether a good plotline.
However, the acting is only average, and some of the scenes are over-acted at times. Also, there is a repetitive theme of the characters not being able to make up their minds. For example, Nicole. "Be nice to my landlord, she's one of my only friends," to "Oh my god! Stay out of my room," to "Awh you're so lovely, thanks for the dinner," to "You're a monster!" like....honestly! Can't they make up their minds?
Moving on, the ending is quite disappointing. The insane landlord dies after getting smashed in the head with a vase. The renter and her best friend have a happy ending. It's all a bit soppy really. I love a bad and tragic ending, as I feel like it reminds you that similar situations don't always end in happy times.
But altogether, I'm not sure. It sort of depends on what type of films you like, what themes you like, etc.
I think it's an okay film but just needs improving some more.
I hope this review helped you!

This is like watching a Mediocre Lifetime movie. Mediocre to bad acting and the story line is slow and writing predictable. It's fine to put on while you're doing other things. Just don't try to make a movie night out of it or expect anything more than low bar made for TV drama. You don't ever care about any of the characters or believe anything it's trying to sell.

It's your average paint-by-numbers thriller. If you come in with low expectations you won't be disappointed. Take it for what it clearly is. Predictable, average acting with only one real potential outcome. Nothing groundbreaking, but not so bad I wouldn't not recommend.
One thing I did enjoy was Stacy Haiduk. She has the wooden, cold style of acting that I appreciate in a film like this.

It was a weird film. The creepy landlady has the supernatural ability to turn up without being heard. One minute she drove away in her car, the next minute she was inside her house standing in the upstairs room. Also in the club scene, her eyes were glowing red.
The concept of a young woman moving into a place while still recovering from cancer and radiation therapy is okay, there are many broken elements that don't make sense. At the very beginning, the landlady is grieving the loss of her tenant and friend who just died in hospital. Later we learn that the same woman poisoned her tenants to keep them sick so she can look after them forever. The character of the landlady is unreal.
Then we have more scenes that are off. Apart from that the sets were quite gorgeous but a shame the film didn't make logical sense.

This movie is slow. Also some directors need to teach actors how to carry take out cups of coffee. The cups must be empty the way they swing them around. Also when Julie makes a hot cup of tea Kelly picks it up like it was cold and tips the cup up too steep. I guess it was empty. It is details like this that ruin a movie. Three actors from The Young and The Restless in this movie are very good actors. The Young and the Restless is one of the worst shows for having empty cups of coffee and tea.

Beautifully crafted and engaging TV thriller where the main protagonists are painted in shades of grey rather than in simplistic black and white strokes.
People are complicated and the writer doesn't shy away from examining the contradictory vagaries of human nature and the fragile connections humans make with each other. Example: the kooky and psycho landlord/doctor also happens to be charming and generous and knows how to enjoy herself on the dance floor. She also happens to be chilly, with a ruthless streak.
The young woman who comes to live with her is also an interesting character who is experiencing relationships difficulty on being diagnosed with cancer, but though ill, is sufficiently feisty not to be a complete doormat for the Psycho Landlady!
I found the whole yarn engrossing from start to finish. The story (and plot twists), the dialogue, and acting are well above average. I know dreck when I see it and this movie does not fall into this category at all.
I gave it an 8/10 as it's well above average TV movie fare.
